  1. It,ll be a challenge to do the splinter scheme. But i am pretty sure that a talented community member can do this livery as well.
  2. If you can spare the patience, you can wait for the next sale. It'll be somewhere in September I think. Your system specs are okay.
  3. I was looking for some good music while I was working on a MiG-21 livery. So I came across this band called "MiG-21". It doesn't seem to be related to the aircraft at all. I had to get used to it a little, but it is quite pleasant music. Any people from the Czech republic around? Has this band got anything to do with the airplane?
  4. Ow... and great news ofcourse!!! :)
  5. Will there also be an official template released for making custom liveries?
  6. I know. It is not strictly speaking the PAH-1a1 version, but they are still Bo-105's!
  7. I think the third guy was a community member called "mysticpuma". He interviewed Oleg and Ilya about a new addition to the Il-2 universe, possibly the new sim: Il-2 BoB. It was at some kind of UK PC gaming event IIRC. This third guy is also present on the DCS forums I think. Oleg was the best. With his awesome understanding of the english language, he was funny, even when he didn't mean to. Il-2 Sturmovik was the biggest and best flightsim ever!!
  8. Firtst of all, congrats on making it to official third-party developer! I am very interested in the Bo-105, since it saw extensive service in our air-force as well. The Dutch air-force sadly retired them all. :( Quite a few years ago, I took this picture at an airshow. Do you think you can make this version as well? It got a mini-gun on the right side only. They were used as light utility and observation helicopters in the KLu (royal airforce from Holland) It makes sense to have a mini-gun installed to apply force on fleeing criminals or pirates when a pure-bred attack helicopter like the AH-64 is too expensive or too much of an overkill to use. It looked to me there wasn't any special sighting equipment installed, probably only a fixed sight. I got some more information on this version as well. It would be a great adition! :) :pilotfly:
  9. Congratulations guys on making it as an official third party developer! Keep up the good work on the Heli's!
  10. Well, the AoA vane responds to the movement of my joystick, while the aircraft is static on the ground, no engine running or electrical power switched on. That is definitely not right. I am not sure about the control surfaces if they should move when the aircraft is cold and dark. They might, but the Mi-8 controls are frozen in the same conditions. So I thought it rather strange the MiG-21 control surfaces are moving when the engine is not running nor any (electrical) power connected. They might, but maybe not.
  11. When the engine is off, the AoA vane is responding to the input of the stick. It is flapping around like a mini-wanabe-canard. :smartass: Also, the elevators are moving. I don't know if it should do that, because when the engine is off, the hydraulic power amplifiers should not be working.
  12. That was my first guess. I've seen this on 'my' Mi-8 as well. There was a pretty hefty discussion over it a while ago. Something about the hydraulic amplifiers not... well... amplifying anything with the engines off. But if you start the 'free flight' mission, the Mi-8 should be ready to go with all the bells and whistles turned on. So you only have to raise the collective to take-off. (and applying a fair amount of rudder of course :smartass:)
  13. Well, I can only recommend to set some 'curvature' in the axis tuning. It will dampen out some of the twitchiness.
  14. I've got some updated specular maps uploaded to the user files. I found it very anoying that the Russian stencils were still very readable, even if they were not applied to the livery itself. It was because they were on the specular maps. I've polished them away and the updated specular maps are available in the user files section. Here: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/1447188/ The Russian stencils are still visible on the skins that actually have them. But won't be visible anymore on non-russian skins. The unzipped contents of the ZIP file can be pasted into the DCS World main folder. No original files are overwritten and you don't have to back-up anything. Deleting the two DDS files will enable the original specular maps again.
  15. Well, the thing is that the stencils are really pronounced. The red and blue colors are very visible on the MiG-21. So I think it is part of the artwork. And I found some very helpfull schematics on the web, so it would be very lazy for me NOT to add the polish stencils. :pilotfly:
  16. Just out of curiosity, i have a few questions 1. Who manages the user-files section? 2. How often does this guy/gal review the uploaded files and validate them? 3. What are the rules of allowable files, I expect stuff like liveries with nudity won't be accepted. But historical correct Swastika gets accepted, even tough it is illegal in some countries to display it. 4. How do you notice an upload isn't accepted in the user files? I respect the weekend and vacation of the people from eagle-dynamics, or whoever manages the site. But I am also a bit curious.
  17. I thought the world was still sane at that time...:lol:
  18. Too bad we haven't a croatian livery for the Leatherneck MiG-21 :music_whistling::prop: This is not a hint ;)
  19. There are a few things you need to know about (new) controllers. 1: If you plug-in a new controller/joystick, DCS world assigns all the axis automatically for you. And it almost always screws things up. So you'll have to un-assign all the axis and re-assigning them your self. 2: Joystick in the Mi-8 only works when the engine is running. Even though all the axis were assigned properly. There was an almighty discussion about it a while ago whether this was a bug or a feature. Is the X55 new for you?
  20. Not today mate! :music_whistling::thumbup:
  21. an extremely boring in-progress shot. :D I am actually starting to recognize some words. :smartass:
  22. Yeah I did ask for it. :music_whistling::lol: The pictures I found on Ebay shows the MiG-21PFM and BIS, but not the MF version. I don't know the exact differences between those three versions, (except different arrangements in the Pitot tube and the AOA sensor) But if you examine the stencils, there are differences as well. The MF looks like the BIS, so I'll use that as a guide and check photographs a lot.
  23. I didn't know there were THAT many stencils and texts... :helpsmilie::lol: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Model-Maker-Decals-1-32-MIKOYAN-MiG-21-FIGHTER-POLISH-STENCILS-/361158328116
