Controlling the rudder (or the tail-rotor as it is commonly called with helicopters) would be far easier with some kind of rudder pedals/axis control. But IIRC, the default keys for the rudder should be "Z" and "X". If not, try to assign them manually in the keybindings. Maybe you should also look into the axis assignments and be sure to delete any entries that you do not need. Because DCS wordl assigns every axis control automatically and does a horrible job. If you got a new module, you are far better off deleting all the assignments for the axis and assigning them yourself.

Help ED to help us - stateful commands

I'm not sure if this is the proper thread for it, but I found that adding these lines to the default.lua of the Mi-8 adds assignable axis for the PKV gunsight. :music_whistling: {action = 3001, cockpit_device_id = 47, name = "PKV Intensity"}, {action = 3003, cockpit_device_id = 47, name = "PKV Elevation"}, -
PKV gunsight axis

I got it! Just insert the following lines in the DCS world\Mods\aircraft\Mi-8MTV2\joystick\default.lua file: {action = 3001, cockpit_device_id = 47, name = "PKV Intensity"}, {action = 3003, cockpit_device_id = 47, name = "PKV Elevation"}, Now I am able to assign the sight elevation and sight intensity as an axis! -
PKV gunsight axis

Somebody posted a few lines you can add in a *.lua file somewhere to add the aformentioned axis in the control options somewhere. But I can't find it anymore. -
The S-8 rockets for the Mi-8 from Belsimtek have these options. So it should be possible.

Some nice close formation flying. Very beautiful!

AI can use the R-60 in head-on engagements. Great fun if they are on your side! :D

Campaign - en_SpringMi8-10.miz - "To Leningori"

Still one of the best DCS campaigns available :) -
Isn't this to simulate a parallax error? If you observe this bug, isn't it caused by the way TrackIr (or equivalent) has your viewpoint offset a bit?
-
iGracias señor Juan! ;)

About the same scenario as with the A10. But i highly doubt tanks were destroyed. Since the warhead on the R-60 is rather small.
-
Yeah... but the thing is... in the first gulf-war, it was a case of friendly fire from the A-10 at some British special forces who got way behind the frontline. Appearantly, the sun was heating up their Landrovers (or whatever ATV they had) and it was appearantly enough for the Sidewinder to produce a tone. Nobody got hurt in the end I think. Stationary running engines definitely produces a tone on the MiG-21 IR missiles. But I never actually fired them in those conditions. Because it only locks when you are very close to the actual target. And stationary targets pass really, really quickly in a MiG-21. So I don't think it is really an effective method of attacking aircraft on the ground at all. A few well placed 23mm shots, or possibly 57mm rockets will be equally effective.

If you think the Sabre is unfinished, you should stay away from the Hawk. Some of your points are valid. But I never got it to stall-away under me. It can be a bit of a handfull when you are flying it on the edge, but hey, it was only 5 years after WWII. Jets were still very new. And it is bound not to be as smooth a flight as a flying computer like an F-15 or a Su-33.
-
Yeah... that is why it is beta... But if you don't like the C101 cockpit, you should defenitly NOT buy the Hawk. It is worse. Sure that one is also Beta, but the C101 is really very much more finished then that. And when the C-101CC version comes out, it will be the very best subsonic jet in DCS. I mean SIX hardpoints AND an internal weapons bay... And it gets to shoot guided anti-ship missiles as well.
-
Some of the missiles lock on stationary ground targets. But those seem to be aircraft that with stationary running engines or recently landed ones, whose engines are still hot. I read somewhere that A-10's used to fire Aim-9's at ground targets. So the russians should be able to do that as well.

For me, it is one of those quirks that makes me love the MiG-21. Luckily we are not real MiG-21 pilots with a flame-out! Everyone once in a while, the engine quits on you. It never happens in a suitable moment. And sometimes, it doesn't want to restart. How many restarts do you get anyways? I think the second time the engine quits, your chances of restarting are a lot less.
-
That is not really a mod anyways, only textures. But if those are your system specs in your sig, an upgrade of your system with a new vid-card or CPU might do some good as well.

AvioDev will be attending International Airshow Aire'75

That's the F-15 :music_whistling: Digging in for the following flame-war :chair: -
It doesn't do anything like that on my DCS installation. Do you have any mods installed? It sometimes messes up existing modules. Also, opening the "Cold start" mission in the mission builder and saving it again sometimes helps.
-
Sooooo, it seems that the L39 gets released with the new rendering engine, DCS 1.5. Does that mean the C-101 will be released in September as well? :music_whistling: Not to pressure the guys (and possibly gals) at AvioDev, but I was just curious. I think the C-101 has the best features on paper of any of the jet-trainer/light attack jets in DCS world (now or in the near-future) I love it very much. And even tough it is only a simple flight model, the aircraft feels very real to me. It must be somebody's lovechild.

Anybody knows what the text in the red circle is? Google translate can't cope with it.

It looks great. Visuals are stunning, even more so for a BETA module. Easily the best of the subsonic jet-trainers currently available for DCS world. And the CC version has some rather cool features over the other jet-trainers/light attack aircraft. It feels more complex and in-depth then the HAWK module.

Like... :music_whistling:  I mean, why did they make the gear-release, countermeasure-release and Parachute-disconnect guards different buttons? As part of my pre-flight start-up sequence, I always click them open and leave them there for the entire flight. I never had any problems myself with activating any of those three functions by accident.

I really can't understand a word of the language. But the sound of the voice and the music are really pleasant. Not a good soundtrack for flying the MiG-21 to, more like a loungy-easy sunday morning type of music.
