Why does the fancy russian jets have the SPO-15 RWR with a MiG-21 symbol in it and the MiG-21 itself got the next to useless SPO-10? ;)

I restarted the campaign, added twice as much airplanes with better weapons and stuff for our side. Since I can't reallly see anything in the mission builder about the other side?? And the big airbattle was actually not so difficult anymore! :music_whistling: But now I get the "Jammer pod" mission. It is the third I think. Let's see how that turns out. IIRC, all the Tornado's got shot down.

Welllll... You basically find the textures and edit them in photoshop. Most of them are in a DDS format, so you might want to have photoshop with Nvidia DDS tools. There is an old version of photoshop available for free from the Adobe site. Which cockpit do you want to change?

I need a bit of help on the next text. It is on the forward speedbrakes. Google translate can't seem to find the proper spelling for the word: "zabezpieceyć" in the sentence. I start as "705" and it taxi's just fine. But indeed, some of the starting points are allmost impossible to taxi from.

Please help, I am desperate! It was on a sunny saturday morning that I was busy with a polish MiG-21 skin. I use the Nvidia DDS tools to generate a *.DDS file and I use the standalone modelviewer. I have to close the EDMviewer after a minute or so because it makes the core temperature of my CPU go berserk. So I close and re-open the modelviewer all the time. But for some reason, it doesn't work anymore. If I start the modelviewer, it just sits in the windows taskbar, looking all minimalized. When I click on it, it doesn't pop-up. It just sits on my taskbar and does nothing. This bug happened while I was working on the skin. One minute it opens, and the next minute, it won't open anymore. I tried downloading the most recent version, but no joy. I also updated the drivers to my Geforce card. :cry: I've provided a screenshot below. Can somebody help?

Also, make sure you've got the texture quality set to the highest possible settings. It helps.

I am recreating these stencils from photographic evidence. I use the font "elefant" for it. It seems pretty close. But some unique Polish characters are not present in this font. So I have to add the accents manually by paintbrush. Most of the stencils will be barely readable so I think this is a valid solution. But really, I appreciate all the input. If more walk-around photos are available from Polish MiG-21's, I would like to see it. :) Nie jestem szalony, moja matka mnie zbadał :megalol:

In another mission, I saw them taking out a B52 with only one of those puny little rockets. Luckily, the cheating AI is on my side :D

Because I can't fire mine in a head-on engagement like they do! :mad: I observed this behaviour from the AI MiG-21's in the (awesome) 'guardians of the caucasus' campaign. Wikipedia says the R-60M has a limited all-aspect capability. But I've never been able to replicate this. Is it possible to shoot at bandits who are coming towards you like this? how? You can't fire a missile if you haven't got a solid lock.

I used a few available photographs which some helpfull forum members pointed out earlier in this thread (see page 1 and 2) And I used a rather low-res example of the same emblem I found on the internet. The anchor inside the polish airforce roundel/square was the hardest part, because none of the photo's showed its exact shape or outline. It turned out that the points of the anchor are actually lion's heads. It is a rather strange but also beautiful symbology. Especially because the town of Łask is 100's of kilometers away from any coastline. I used and adapted the coat of arms of the polish town Łask for that. I used the 'pen' tool in photoshop extensively as you can see in the screenshot. All in all, there are about a dozen layers. The emblem I used for tracing wasn't a 100% match for the emblem that is used on the MiG-21. But the changes were easy to make. In the end, I adjusted the size to about 25 to 30% for final placement. The seadragon emblem is a bit more detailed then the one on the real MiG, since I suspect they painted it by hand or something. But it looks awesome :) In the case of the eagle, I did it mostly by hand. The 'pen' tool isn't really helpfull there.

Cool :) Did you use SweetFX when you took the screens? It does change the colors a bit ofcourse.

Do you think Su-25's are hard with the R60's? Try a B-52! :D Really, the gun on the MiG-21 is very effective. Two R-60's don't do anything at all. But a few cannon rounds is far more effectively.
