21:9 1440p 200Hz vs 16:9 4k 144Hz?
rajdary replied to remi's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
With my new 4K monitor at 60hz and adaptative sync on in nvidia control panel i get really smooth gameplay with excellente Fov, no need to zoom in ever and Mfds are perfectly managable also without zooming in them, i think i have found my sweet spot, DCS 2.1 really shines in this new configuration. I come from a triple display and SLI 780ti which was nice but not so smooth like now, always microstutters. IMHO i think in a flight sim 60hz is good enough and what we need is maximum view real estate, for keeping true total awareness, for not spending loads of time zooming in Mfds, for being able to look to the ground and the cabin at the same time etc.. many of these i have acomplished with the 43" 4k monitor (i tried overclocking the monitor and got to 63hz) just left it at default, not worth it. -
Thanks Chuck, seriously , the first place i go when i get a new module is to your links!!

Perfect for the Razbam Av-8B!

Totally agree, ED has done a great job, it is really a big difference in my point of view. The most important change by far the new lighting effect, its just so much more real. I really start appreciating it when i go back to 1.5 Caucasus.

The F-35B is a good equivalent to the F-14 of the 80´s , the girl is not difficult to improve (Jennifer Lawrence would be my choice), the same old Porsche 356 and a Racing Ducati this time. What is going to be really hard is the Epic soundtrack and off course the Plot. If they have to get all the ingredients in, they need : The F-35B (Latest tech propaganda and will attract young veiwers) The Girl (as I see it that is just easy, any is better than McGillis) A positive take on the US Navy and US Military in general (Good worldwide propaganda and positive National Patriotic Feeling for the US and allies) Pilots and Flying (Make being a Pilot and the love of Flying be Glorious again in this world full of Drones) Threat (A believable threat would be Nuclear threat and terrorism) Iran, North Korea, Syria & Irak Homeage to the F-14 (That would be very easy, simply get Maverick flying the F35B which he accidentally crashes in Iran, gets imprisoned and then steals an Updated Irani F-14 which luckily hasn't been painted so is bare Metal:D

Low FPS in some situations with 1080 TI
rajdary replied to goon3r's topic in Release Version Bugs and Problems (Read only)
I also have a 1080Ti and have very good performance with almost all in high settings and that in 4K!!! I mostly use the A10-C. What i have seen at first glance is that you have the clutter/grass very high, i have it at 150. Also your terrain objects shadow try changing them to flat and the other shadows to Low in the Nvidia control Panel i have also noticed that you have power management to Optimal Power, try changing that to performance Lets see if i can help, here i send you my settings : https://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=162570&stc=1&d=1495650275 https://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=162571&stc=1&d=1495650284 https://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=162572&stc=1&d=1495650293 -
Mostly Caucasus, having bought the other 2 on presale i will still always think of the Caucasus as the real "Tour of Duty Map" , Nttr is clearly training no matter how much imagination can be put in missions.(May be only UFOs Invasion would cut it for me as "real") Normandy will be very intresting but i am mostly into modern jets.

I just remembered that another very important step is to uninstall all old graphics drivers with the DDU utility (Display Driver Uninstaller) look it up in google. Then install the latest one from nvidia

No, its 70% A-10C. I have seriously spent alot of time tinkering with setups until i found this setup which doesnt kill my 780Ti. I have actullay played and finished (I know its not the most demanding) the Stone Shield Campaign in the A-10C with this setup and apart from some minor dips never even noticed stutters or anything, i can only remember dips after Cbu's make impact but very minor. The biggest impact to frames in my experience are the shadows, terrain shadows and tree shadows, they really make a difference! By the way i have completed the first 2 missions of the Piercing fury Campaign and everything has been very smooth.

Hi, i have an Alienware Aurora which i have modified with my sig below. Im running at 4K with my 780Ti and it works very well in Caucasus Map, i had to erase Nevada because of space in my ssd so havnt tried it out since my other 780Ti went burst:( I am actually surprised at how well it works with one card. Yesterday i got a call from my computer shop and they informed me that my second 780Ti was within the warranty period ( i have had it for 2 years and 11months) and i will get a refund that i can spend in another product of theirs  , i was so happy with ASUS that i ordered a 1080Ti from them, the OC edition, its more or less the equivalent but i will have to pay a small difference. I wanted one anyway. But i am very surprised at how well the 780Ti deals with Caucasus in 4K, here are my settings : Textures-High Terrain Textures-High Civ. Traffic-Medium Water-Medium Visib Range-Ultra Heat Blur-High Shadows-Low Resolution-3840x2160 Aspect Ratio-1.7777777777778 Monitors-1 Screen Cockpit Displays-1024 Every Frame MSAA-16Q HDR-On Depth of Field-Off Lens Effects-Flare Clutter/Grass - 150 Trees Visb - 8450 Preload Radius - 150000 Anisotropic Filtering - 16x Terrain Object Shadows - Flat Note : before i had a triple monitor setup, now my other monitors are not plugged in only the Phillips 4k. Disable Aero interface YES Vsync YES Fullscreen YES

Some are easy and some not so much, but its a perfect balance, specially for people who have just started to master the A10C or people who have been away for a long period and want to get their proficiency back! I think its a perfect Campaign for such situations.

Phillips 43" monitor(NOT Tv) only for DCS
rajdary replied to rajdary's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Ok, so i have been trying out this new monitor with only one 780ti....... and everything is simply smoother and i can up many settings!! Im getting nearly 70% more fps. So 2x780ti Sli with triple monitors=50-70fps 1 780ti with 3840x2160=100-120fps. Both with exact settings only changing screen res. I suppose that Sli simply doesnt work but shouldnt i be getting the same result or less? Reffering to the monitor, 43" is perfect, at least fromt the distance in the Obutto R3. The image is very good, clean crisp with bright colours (its IPS) and i love the semi gloss screen, it makes everything look more vivid, at least better than my previous Dell 24". I havent noticed any input lag, which i did notice experimenting with my Samsung Tv. Im very happy, its a fantastic match for DCS. I was waiting for the final DCS global version to make this step, but i just couldnt wait any more. I have only fully played the instant action missions, no more testing for the moment but im really wondering if i should get the 1080Ti, the results with the 780Ti for the moment are quite good. Anyway after further playing i will take the decision, i have loads of time:joystick: -
Showing off my Obutto R3v pit.

I actually modified the Stick metal support, precisely because it was too close towards me. It was done by a welder. Now I'm in the process of changing my triple monitor setup to a 6k triple monitor setup, lets see maybe I have to just stay with 4K.:) https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=185574
