Does this product physically exist yet ? all I can see are some very well rendered 3D models, a web site that doesn't work properly and promotional material that's miss-spelled.

Aircrew Interviews is a good channel. Lots of Tomcat and twin seat stuff. Also Fighter Pilot Podcast and ( no kidding ) PeninsulaSrs have applicable talks. You may end up having to watch hours of videos for tens of minutes of relevant information. I dunno about you, but I'm interested in fighter jets, so it's not all that much of a chore :D One thing you probably won't get is a highly definitive answer in one place.

There used to be - it was part of a program intended for flight planning in one of the MSFS versions, but I just can't remember the name of it now. Was a long time ago - ten years maybe ? If I do remember I'll get back to you...maybe you'll have a better clue where to look ?

I watched an interview\walkaround with a couple of ex Tomcat aircrew - RIO and pilot ( sorry - I can't remember the link, dammit ) - and when it came to those switches the pilot couldn't initially remember exactly what it was they did. Which led me to think that maybe they weren't used a whole lot.

But what if the control reference specifies a pot and I want to use an encoder ? Like changing this :- DcsBios: Potentiometer gunsightknob("GunsightKnob", PIN); to an encoder somehow ?

As per the title really, what do I have to do in order to substitute an encoder for a pot ?

Just be thankful you aren't flying a Mirage.... Jester is pretty crap but AFAIK it's the first time that any developer has tried to implement something like him ( see ? Brilliant. Live Preview is working, so my problem is with the Arduino or the sketch. Even I can't mess up a button and an LED :D I'll try another Arduino. The one I'm using was previously flashed with HID firmware several years ago and then left in a drawer. I FLIP-ed it back but there's no telling if I might have done something wrong. I was going to use a Mega anyway.

I just guessed my dimensions based on a 5.75" standard width and then used the NATOPS diagram to scale the rest. It's probably not all that accurate ;) I can dimension the model if you want though ?

Live Preview is exactly what I need running. I just reverted the sketch to using the A-10C and that doesn't work now although it did before. I'll get it figured out...thanks for your help :)

You backside would not have thanked you ;) ejection seat cushions are designed to prevent spinal injury in the event that the seat is used - any comfort they might also provide is purely by accident....

OK -first I installed DCS-BIOS into my saved games DCS folder and compiled the example sketch in the documentation - " Master Warning Reset " I think it was. I hooked up the switch and LED - all went perfectly. Then I decided to try a couple of the planes I'm intending to use DCS-BIOS with - the A-4E and the F-14 - and nothing. I was using a rotary switch for the A-4's weapons selector and then a toggle switch for the F-14's autopilot. I'm not sure how to attack the problem - I understand there are so many things which can be an issue. If it was a motorcycle that wouldn't start then everything would be easy for me - but it isn't :D

You made a much nicer job of the gear indicator panel than I did. I tried to be too clever with mine. It's a great start.

I'm getting no joy from my first experiments with DCS BIOS and need to know the easiest way to test what I've done. It could be any number of things, hardware or software, so I'm seeking advice on the most logical troubleshooting process.

You didn't miss much by not having him around. I haven't managed to get through the mountains yet without my wingman crashing or running out of fuel

I sometimes have trouble picking up the meatball, but the indexer is pretty much unreadable for me because it's so dim. If it wasn't for the HUD AOA indication I wouldn't have a chance of trapping. I'm using a 1080 monitor.
