I can guarantee you that Me262 with current AI is going to be easier than K4. Expert AI 109 is nearly unbeatable except if you exploit the terrain or get him after the first pass in a zoom-out. Even MiG29 with missles is way easier. :D Human in K4 is easier for me than the AI 109. (well most of the time that is :P. At least you can run xD) :pilotfly: Realy though, the hard part is to evade the missles :P

That statement is wrong. It was the German plane's that were closer to beeing "outmached" by P-51B (109G6, Fw190A6/A7) and P-51D (G14, Fw190A8.). The D9 and K4 were plane's trying to match that performance. Truth be told they never were realy "outmached" because they had still some better performances like the Fw190 roll rate, protection and firepower and 109's climb and low speed maneuvrability. :book: Surely P-51D doesn't fall into category of outmached, especially historically, where it is portrayed as the perfect plane of the war:hehe:. In DCS it is a bit less powerful though than it should be for the time period it is set in, and I know I start to sound a bit like broken record, but the historical 72'hg would balance thigs out and no one could say that it is "outmached" by any of it's adversaries. It would be very much on par.

Supercharger gear is fully automatic, you cannot change the gear from low to high blower in P-51D both in DCS and IRL.

@Zimmerdylan. The AI always goes for the silly zoom when enemy is behind it, in which the 109 is superior. The P-51D seems to be currently faster than the K4, but it won't be able accelerate fast enough to get to it's max speed without going into a dive. Don't worry, about it, you need to get a wingman or train yourself to be an ace. When fighting the K4 you cannot make any mistakes, and need to keep your energy high. If you realy do not want to die, and you do not feel confident enough to maneuver with one, you have to remember that what you will want to do is to keep your speed, attack the 109 and gain separation. That way you will be able to survive. It might not give you a certain kill, but you will be able to at least maybe damage him and survive. The P-51D currently is pitted not just against any 109 or how WW2 ace Don Bryan would have said "normal 109". It is the K4, the Kurfurst, the last most powerful 109 made during the war. It is not representative of the "normal 109". The P-51D is running the factory standard 67'hg rating, while since April 1944 many P-51 units using the new engine (V-1650-7) were authorised to use 72'hg. That might seem like random numbers, but the difference is big. That is why it might seem underperforming. What advice can I give you? Climb, dive and run. Do not dogfight the K4 if you are not confident that you can beat it. Never! Learn it's weak points, learn how to shoot deflection and how to avoid fire. And... well, try to become above average :)

What are the chances we will see a B-17 DLC some day?

Because labels go through the cockpit and you can see something even though there is a dashboard in the way. They also give you the ID of the bogey and so indentification friendly/foe is non-existant. Change your screen resolution if your airplane's look like "B17", you are probably running a wrong resolution as I do not experience that big of a improvment in aircraft size. I run 1680x1050 on my 21,5' monitor. PS. Labels look awful at gameplay video's. :3

Hey, will the server move to the new beta version or is it going to wait for the stable one? I saw the ACG Jets server only, yesterday.

The stealth capabilities of the T-50 PAK FA
Solty replied to Hummingbird's topic in Military and Aviation
To me Pakfa is still more of a 4.5Gen than 5Gen. It seems on par with the likes of Eurofighter and Rafale. -
I am not sure. I mean coolant is the most problematic, but the coolant seems to stay at the green spot even when I use WEP as long as I have speed. The oil temperature seems to go over green but not over red. The only thing that reliably killed my engine in the past was the slow speed-high power dogfighting especially when in vertical, which lead to coolant temp going over red. But ever since I close my throttle and lower pro pitch during dives I am OK. I can say though that I have problems with overheating around second stage of the supercharger altitude. I use half throttle at takeoff and wait for oil temperature to reach over 20°C and I ha e never since had problem with blowing up the engine at take off. It is highly effective up to 40% fuel load. At higher speeds 61'hg doesn't overheat my engine too much. I just keep the speed at over 200mph.

ACG server. I was jumped by a 109 who destroyed my three HMG's on my left wing. :pilotfly: o7 to my oponent.

It is not AI.

How similar is the K4 to the G10 or G14
Solty replied to TheJay15's topic in DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst
Kinda, some G10's even had the same engine. But overall the K4 has a bit powerful engine, the structure has been strenghtened which lead to weight increase. Another change is that wing's have been slightly improved aerodyamically and vertical stabiliser became wooden and taller, and tailwheel became retractable (again). The K4 is a beast of an accelerator, is a bit better in a dive while it is worse at turning, particularly low speed turning and it is faster than any other G model. -
Roger that. Thx

From the hunter I was pushed into the possition of hunted. ACG server furball which resulted in 3 enemy planes following me at certain point.

Your video doesn't work, you need to take the link from "share" tab and take the only last part of the link and put it in between the YT brackets on the forum.

Ufff, thx YoYo. I hope ED can get that net code upgraded (it was somewhere down the line after 2.0 right?). Cause it is a immersion breaker. I have never seen a behaviour like that outside DCS :). Thx for clarification.
-
Yeah, that kind of balancing is just wrong, and I am sure DCS is not doing so. Otherwise they would never fix the Bf109K4's speed. :P Anyway, I saw a very wierd behaviour of the 190. I am not sure it is the FM or is it the game's netcode. But the stalling and snaping is so violent it almost feels like there is animation missing or the plane switches CoG... I can't explain it. But it sure does feel unnatural. I would assume the plane would stall out with such violent movments. Here is the video, it is exceptionally visible at 30 sec-50 sec:

I agree, especially the visualisation of maneuvers is great. I wish there were more of those made and more in detail. -

I just want to point out. Its very useful for jets players. It is nearly useless for prop players. -
You have reduced the resolution to 1920x1080 at a 4k monitor. Try now the same resolution on a smaller 21' inch monitor or even better at at 17' inch monitor that doesn't support the 4k resolution. You won't be able to see much from more than 1,5km. It was said by the devs that it is not going to be smart scalling. Just set a resolution at which you feel the most comfortable or just adjust to the new setting. I think the most major issue is at the medium range, when imposter is still rendered at lower resolution and at cetain angles just flatout disapears right in front of my eyes, just to suddenly appear when I get a bit closer or farther. That is the biggest issue. The rest at to me is fine. Games as a medium are inherently devoided of what makes a human eye so capable. That is why replicating a human eye in the game is pointless. Many sims like Arma have given player additonal range of options to simulate the human eye capacity, because normal view is insuficient and disadvantageous. That is why you get white stripes at the edge of your screen when something is in your peryferal vison but cannot see it on screen, or that you get zoom option to see more distant targets. Just deal with it. You play video games!

Kurfurst fuel gauge, fuel tank and manual
Solty replied to brennus54's topic in DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst
Yes, that is what they said. -
Thank you YoYo as I said I am sure I just can't reach it and that is probably fault of my twitchy rudder. Today I have trimmed the plane to keep level at 67hg and hit 600kph. It is probably my handling that pushes me away from the max speed. Again. Thank you for your time. I was wrong with my assumption that nothing has changed.
