  1. I agree, not showing up is disrespectful to both your opponent and to admins, which are there just for you, and spend a significant amount of time for a game that doesn't happen.
  2. Significant improvement in F-15 handling, it feels much more like a real plane now instead of a toy plane, even if it makes it slightly less capable. Oh and try the R-73 with helmet sight, I guarantee you will orgasm... and aim-9m performance also much improved!

  8. That's up to Flankerator. But when hosted by a regular host (not dedicated server) I can confirm the mission has zero issues, everything works flawlessly.
  9. Update: We've encountered unexpected stability issues when hosting the mission on dedicated servers, working on fixing it, should have a new version tomorrow.
  10. We just ran a test with OverG, padlock is still disabled. My guess is whoever sees them as enabled has edited the mission, saved it in the editor, while having padlock enabled in their own settings. This seems to enable padlock in the mission, regardless of host settings or the mission settings (a bug). Just use the original mission, don't touch it with the editor, and padlock should be disabled. If you still find that it is enabled, please PM me and let's arrange for a test flight together so I can see it with my own eyes... I cannot fix what I cannot see.
  11. Nah Rip, no datalink on the Mig-21, so no ghost contacts, just traditional contacting AWACS on radio, just like in the F-15.. so yeah I think it would spill over to the FC3 side automatically.
  12. Note to everyone who is trying to host the mission: It is imperative that you start the server as paused and only unpause the server when every player is in the cockpit. Otherwise it detects no players in game, and forces a restart, or a crash to desktop in single player, or a crash to desktop if you have changed the file name to something else.
  13. If it crashes upon loading (and before unpausing), then yeah that's not good. Works flawlessly when I host it though, and also others have hosted it successfully. Remember that teams have to be equally populated and spawned in before unpausing for the mission to work properly. If you want to test the mission functionality in singleplayer, you need to change one of the client aircraft to an AI aircraft, to have equal teams (1v1), then it doesn't restart after 5 seconds :) But anyway, as long as the TAW guys have it working, should be no problem.. Regarding the terrain, I really can't find a 50 km diameter patch without cities that's not ugly, so it will then include cities forest power lines etc. I guess somewhere east of Kerch would be good then..?
  14. To be honest I didn't spend much time pondering the aesthestics of the battle area, but I'll see if Kerch is better, and if so move it there ;)
  15. I just tested the mission quite a lot again, and had no crashing problems. Under what circumstances does the CTD occur? The mission automatically attempts to restart itself if there is an uneven or zero amount of players spawned in upon unpausing. This automatic restart may lead to a crash to desktop if: a) it was flown in single player mode b) mission has been renamed, since the restart trigger uses the mission name.

Not sure if this has been reported, but it's been around for a while so I would like it to be fixed :) So, when in one of the close combat modes (vertical scan, boresight, helmet sight), it is not shown whether the radar is selected on or off(there is no ILL indication on the bottom of HUD, as there is in Su-27), so one has to guess. Now otherwise this wouldn't even be a problem, but having radar selected on or off seems to have a MAJOR impact on how the vertical scan behaves. Meaning that if it is on (ILL), then vertical scan picks up targets much less effectively. This seems to extend to the Su-27, and is possibly another bug? All this brings to mind a third feature of the Russian fighters, the infamous IFFing without spiking the target. Still no definitive answer, is this a bug or a feature? This one's been around for years.

I've starting hosting my own tiny server more often because the big servers are currently too unstable to play, at least for me, so it's better to gather a smaller group to fly some simple dogfighting :) I set a password on my server because I want to coordinate the fights, and this absolutely requires everyone to be on Teamspeak. If you see me hosting, you can find me on 104th teamspeak for sure ;)
  23. Very nice, I would like to add one situation where the use of ER is good: close range head-on shots (~8km). This prevents the target from using flares to spoof the missile, increasing kill probability. Also, revealing your position at this range doesn't give the target enough time to react...

  25. The AI is dangerous because it is both aggressive and it often "magically" knows where you are, so you can't fool it like you could a human player. Even hiding behind a hill isn't very safe if you have 2+ AI bandits coming because they will find you right away and fire their missiles instantly when they have a shot.
