Hello, when cleaning my office I found some rare and unused spare parts for the Cougar. As I don´t have this stick anymore, maybe someone is still interested in them. I have the following items available: You can see detailed pictures below. The plug displayed in below pictures and not in the list above is the one for the stick. Prices are as follows: Clip black (2x) --> 3,- EUR per pcs. (sold) Comer (black) --> 3,- EUR (sold) Plug for stick --> 10,- EUR (sold) Shipment costs are related to the country you are from. I´m located in Germany. Thanks, Xoxen

I have to replace my CMS switch as it is buggy. I contacted the TM support and got it offered from them. Pre wired to connect it to the PCB. I would do the same, send a picture with the faulty switch and see, if the price is worth it for you.

You should consider to put the MFDs virtually below the main screens. If I'm right there is a limit in overall resolution. You should have height remaining , but width wise you are already very high. I had 3*2560, so never came that high. I will edit this post once I'm back at my PC. Edit: This is what I just found which might help. I found those pictures in the attached file, which seem to come from WinWing. Putting the displays beside of the 3 large 4k screens also end up into a very high width resolution (see hand drawn picture). MFD1-User Configuration Guide EN V1.0.pdf

You have to do two things when setting up three displays. On the options page you need to insert the resolution you want DCS to work on. In your case this is 3x3840 = 11520 in width and 2160 in height. So at the point Resolution you manually write into the box 11520x2160. The second thing is to use the lua file Auntystatic sent you and put it into the correct folder mentioned in aboves post. At the point Monitors you now should see a configuration called "Hindsight" in the dropbox, which you should choose. See attached picture, which displays the correct points you need to make changes in. The lua file from Auntystatic takes care that the GUI is only displayed on the center screen. When entering the cockpit, you should get it rendered on all screens. But you will see a very zoomed in Cockpit view. I recommend to use the slider at your Warthog (if you have one) and put the zoom axis onto it. Then you can zoom out to a point which is fine for you. Originally the max zoom out is too small and also results into a bad fisheye vew on the left and right. I played around with the saturation of the slider axis and reduced it to a smaller dimension than 100% to be able to put the slider fully back and not have a mini cockpit. I put a lot of effort into figuring out the best setting for me. So if there is something not clear or not how you like it, please don´t hesitate to contact me again, I´m definitely willing to support you as I know the pain when you have something new and it does not work as expected.

Edit: We solved the problem. It was related to Avast Free Anti-Virus which blocked something. After uninstalling it, everything works fine. -
Brunner Force Feedback Joystick Base
xoxen replied to Mozart's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Hi, I´m writing for a flight mate of mine as he also uses the Brunner base together with a Warthog A-10 Stick. He has a strange issue and I would like to help him. Whenever we fly on a dedicated server in DCS, means one out of the server list, and he has started the Brunner software, he get´s very bad FPS in game. When I start a server on my PC and he joins, everything is fine. He has the newest Firmware as well as Software installed and according to his information the DCS plugin is well installed. We already tried to delete the Save Game folder and start from scratch to exclude something inside there to be the cause. Nothing. Even with a repair and a clean Saved Games folder the bad FPS are happening. I´m talking about FPS in the range between 1-10, whereas he has 90-100 on my servers. He has a 5600X and a GTX 3080 plus 64 GB of RAM. Maybe anybody has encountered a similar behavior and/or has an advice what to do. Any help is very much appreciated. Thanks, Xoxen Edit: No issues in SP. Edit 2: When he switches off the Brunner Software, the FPS are back to normal, but the stick is not running. -

Worth to upgrade RX6800XT -> 4090?
xoxen replied to Flummi's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Nvidia is strong at high resolutions, I forgot to mention that I used 3x 1440p displays at that time. Now I´m using a wide screen with 5120x1440 and everything is nearly maxed out. But this is all is 2D. Based on observations I did in regards to VR I read that Nvidia also outperforms the AMD cards in every aspect when I compared the RTX 3080 with the direct counterpart RX 6800 XT. The happy I was getting the AMD card at that time the more happy I was to replace it with the RTX 3080. Even going from the 3080 to the 4080 brought very much performance gain. I´m not a fanboy and gathered these experiences by myself. -
Worth to upgrade RX6800XT -> 4090?
xoxen replied to Flummi's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I´m not doing VR but switched from a 1080Ti -> RX 6800 XT -> 3080 -> 4080 In the following you always see the amount of extra FPS I gained over the predecessor Basis --> +10% --> +50% --> +40% I expect a very high benefit going from the RX 6800 XT to a 4090. The 4090 is a beast. -
I see around 42 GB on the Syria Map in MP (4YA Server), didn´t try the Normandy 2 so far. So 64 GB are useful in certain situations. It is definately not a waste and future proof. Edit: In Single Player, alone over London or Paris I got 27 GB of RAM filled.

solved From 3x 27" (7680x1440) to 1x 49" (5120x1440) FPS issue?
xoxen replied to xoxen's topic in Game Performance Bugs
First of all it is different as it is curved. It is my first curved display. But it took me 15 minutes to feel fine. In contrary to my 3 27" displays it is slightly less width. But the curve and the fact that there are no bezels anymore are very much different and better from my point of view. I was able to reduce the FOV a little and have less fisheye optic at the outer areas. In daily working it is great because of the size, to place windows and have them still large. On the other hand the full size is always on. At 3 27" displays I was able to use only the center one and switch off the outer ones to save enery. But it is not that much of a difference in power consumption (I believe 45 vs 60 Watts). Under the line I'm very satisfied, not to forget the high Hz of 120 I'm running it. This combined with Multi-Threading is a very smooth experience. Don't use Gsync, this leads to a flickery experience. It took me some time to find the cause of the flicker. It is not DCS exclusively. I'm not using this feature anymore. If you have more questions, feel free to ask. I got mine on a black friday sale last December and never regretted it. Roland -
solved From 3x 27" (7680x1440) to 1x 49" (5120x1440) FPS issue?
xoxen replied to xoxen's topic in Game Performance Bugs
Hi Markus, sorry, I did not get a message about your question and didn´t watch this thread again. I hope the answer is still in time for you to take teh right decision. I had the same GPU before my 4080 and it is easily capable to run the G9. Let´s say it that way, the 4080 is overkill and the 3080 is already very good for this, especially with the new Multi-Threading feature. You can definately go that way. Take care, Roland -
solved Problem with the FOV camera on some servers

I´m happy that it solved your problem. I had issues entering servers (long waiting time until I was in the cockpit) and solved it in the same way. Take care. -
solved Problem with the FOV camera on some servers
xoxen replied to Spacerunner's topic in Multiplayer Bugs
Sorry, I was out this weekend, but will try tonight and let you know. Edit: Just checked it and it looks like the lower picture. I was not able to replicate the upper one. I would do the following: Delete the DCS folder in Saved Games, let it rebuild and copy the folders out of a backup back piece by piece and then have a look everytime you did. For sure the Config folder should be the first one as it has all the settings inside. Honestly I believe one of the view related lua´s could lead to the problem. -
Very good to hear. Was a pleasure to help out a flight M8

Let me know the outcome, I´m very curious if it helps you as well. Thanks and take care, too!

I finally solved the problem by myself. I fully deleted the DCS folder inside of the Saved Games folder. After it got rebuilt I copied everything back from my backup file piece by piece and this was the culprit: ...Saved Games\DCS\Data\Kneeboard Builder Config After deleting this folder I am able to enter servers without any issues again. Maybe this helps others to solve this problem. At least the way to delete the DCS folder and copy everthing back piece by piece and check every time you did is worth a try.

For sure I did a copy of the complete folder before. Especially the key bindings cost me a hell of a time to adjust.

solved Problem with the FOV camera on some servers
xoxen replied to Spacerunner's topic in Multiplayer Bugs
If you name me a server I can try and see what happens if I join it. -
Thanks for your advice. I tried it but no joy, same as before. I have to mention that the problem is not related to crashes. Once I enter the cockpit everything runs fine. But this takes up to 5 minutes, which is the issue. Hi Sixxpack, it is always good not to be alone. This excludes hardware related issues more or less. I would be more than happy if this can be solved in any way. Edit: Do you undervolt your CPU? I do, maybe this causes anything. I will try. Edit 2: Just checked, but after the last BIOS update it seems I did not undervolt anymore. So I can exclude this from my ends.

Look at my thread 3 below yours. I have the same issue, only on MP servers. I hope someone will help, this drives me crazy.

solved Problem with the FOV camera on some servers
xoxen replied to Spacerunner's topic in Multiplayer Bugs
Hi Spacerunner, I had this issue by myself and believe some servers have settings included which are kind of overriding the own ones. I guess it is a mistake of the server owner to have too many files included into the mission file. I´m not that much of an expert but e. g. you can also insert Kneeboard files to a mission file. So I guess some are including setting files which are creating the issue. Someone a little smarter than I am need to confirm this with a proper explanation. This is at least what I figured out at that time. Do you have a buddy which enters the same server to compare with? -
Hi, I have an issue which was there already long time ago, then it was gone, then it was there again. Actually it is there again. Issue: Whenever I join a MP Server, select a plane, press the "Fly" button, the game freezes for about 5 minutes. The screen freezes inside of the game in the scene the windows is in front of where I can hit the "Fly" button. Then, after the mentioned waiting time I enter the cockpit and everythings works like expected. You can imagine that those 5 minutes (don´t nail me on the exact time) are pretty annoying. I have no MODs installed, newest Open Beta, TacView (1.9.0.0) and the periphery in my signature. My Windows 10 is up to date. DCS repair hs bee used already. The Nvidia drives version is 531.29. I´m out of ideas. Attached is the latest log file when enterying a 4YA server (Syria). But independend on the server the problem occurs. And in both versions, non-MT and MT, same thing. What is new compared to the issues I had in the past: when entering an own created MP server, the problem is there as well which was different in the past where I had no issues at all. I need help. dcs.log

Remove stick from standard warthog base?
xoxen replied to Michel0079's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
You need to hold the stick in place to avoid too much force on the lower gimbal part of the base. What I always do if I loosen the stick is to hold it in place with one hand and turn the large grey nut with the other. If you watch the nut from the top you need to turn it counter clowise to loosen it. Watch this video at aroun 0:32 min. Edit: The mod istself dispalyed in the video is something I cannot say anything about. I opened my base several times and like the greasing solution to get it smoother. Additionally there are softer springs available from 3rd party which are working good as well. I have the green spring from Sahaj.
