I had this yesterday evening and I´m quite sure that I did something wrong with the FCS. Additionally I had the Flaps on Auto while starting, bang, the machine had the tendency to pull up once in the air, exactly like you describe. So I guess it is more a mistake of the startup procedure than a binding problem.

I just tested everything again, everything identical except a new driver version and the new Multi Threading. See by yourself: Where it went down below 60 FPS before, it now is in the 70s for a very short period of time, mostly higher. Overall the FPS are higher or at least more consistent.

Hallo liebe Mitstreiter, ich bin gerade auf meinen ersten Thread hier gestoßen und musste ein wenig schmunzeln. Da fing alles an, und jetzt, 9 Jahre weiter, fliege ich DCS immer noch ohne Motivationsverlust. Ich habe zwar das Flugmodell gewechselt (A-10C --> F/A-18C) und wird sind nun 5 Leute in unserer Flugtruppe, die Flugbegeisterung ist aber noch die Gleiche. Wer das hier liest und gerade am Anfang steht, dem sei gesagt: Achtung, das Ding hier hat Suchtpotenzial und bedeutet sehr viel Freude, sowohl beim Fliegen selbst, aber auch beim Erlernen neuer Funktionen und Taktiken, upgraden des PCs, basteln an der Peripherie. Nach wie vor bin ich nur 1-2x die Woche unterwegs, aber die Zwischenzeit füllt DCS auch gedanklich ganz gut aus. Und ich bin noch lange nicht am Ende. Wird es zu langweilig, stürze ich mich auf die F-16C. Neue Maps gibt es auch immer wieder. Es wird also nie langweilig und und bin sehr froh, ein Teil der tollen Community zu sein. Das wollte ich mal gesagt haben

Guten Morgen, ich verstehe die Frage so, dass ihm das Spiel zu langsam läuft. Eine Erhöhung der Geschwindigkeit, in diesem Falle FPS, wäre nur dann zu erreichen, wenn man Details in den Optionen runterschraubt. Oder aber die Hardware entsprechend aufbohrt. Was sehr hilfreich wäre, sollte ich mit meiner Annahme richtig liegen, wären die derzeitigen Einstellungen in den Optionen und die verwendete Hardware. Dann kann man die Frage besser beantworten.

Thanks for your input. I just wondered by the fact that the GPU isn´t utilized by 100% as in smaller MP missions I created by my own (by far less complex). So my idea was to improve the huge MP mission performance.

Hi flight mates, recently I got the feedback in one of the threads below, that it does not makes sense to switch from a 5800X to a 5800X3D. Now I flew several missions on MP servers and see my GPU utilized in the 60s. My conclusion is, that the CPU isn´t fast enough to feed the GPU. Is anybody here who has a similar config and can share his experience. The 5800X3D would probably be the fastest I can go on my AM4 board, but does it make sense? Thanks for sharing. I´m always doing it with my hardware, which I´m treating always very good. When I upgraded to my RTX 4080 and the G9 Neo I sold my 3 27" Asus displays and the RTX 3080 on a second hand platform in Germany. Under the line the upgrade didn´t cost the original 2.428,- EUR, but "only" 1.278,- EUR. Both, the 3080 and the displays looked like new and I always keep the original package for that reason. The 3080 went to a flight mate of my group and he is more that happy with it.

My squadron and me are very much enjoying your work. Many thanks for all the effort. We just passed Mission 4 and are very curious of what to come. Very immersive and a great challenge for us. The way you are doing it is very good and the training effect is excellent. In every mission there are different things we need to know or learn. Many thanks for your input. And I´m happy that you are satisfied with your buy as I am. The 4080 is pure fun (for high cost, I know) and I find myself in 2D complaining about everything below 70 FPS where I was happy with 50 FPS before. If I see it right the upgrade to the 5800X3D wasn´t that much of a performance boost. But I also have this in my mind to get the most out of my rig, but I will wait for the new multi core engine to arrive. I guess it might even be better for my marriage to spend time to my wife instead of money into my hobby

I have no window, so it doesn´t make sense to make a picture of the closed case. Instead I made a front view with open case. The cables are slightly touching the side wall.

I have a Silent Base 800 and the card fits good. But I had to remove the upper case for the HDDs. I had no issues with the cable (3x 8pin to 12VHPWR adapter). The Silent Base is quite a wide chassis.

Yes, the track file is the latest open beta.

I measured the overall cunsumption of my PC and it is never above 500W. So based on this I should be fine. And I never heard about the PSU being the cause for bad FPS. If the power consumption would be too high, the PC would switch off I guess. So again, I strongly doubt the PSU can cause bad FPS but yes, I will change it to an 850 W anyway. But my 3080 ran 1 year without issues and sucks up even more power.

This is interesting as the 4080 is supposed to be faster than the 3090. I mentioned it earlier already that I have a 600 W PSU. But I strongly doubt this would limit the max power the 4080 can bring into my system. I start believing something in my system is braking. I will try to figure out. Just a sidenote on the Plazma test we were running. With the mentioned settings the mission is very much CPU limited, when I use my standard settings, then the GPU is utilized by100%.

Here you go: It takes some time until the HD version is up, it was mentioned 45 min.

This is my first video and regarding the settings I followed the ones mentioned before: For me it looks like the 4080 is slower than the 7900XTX. I opened the track file and ran it. Comparing different scenes show sometimes more, but overall less FPS. Not sure how to judge this for now. Actually my CPU is undervolted, but it runs with the same 4850 MHz than in the other system. Edit: I carefully compared the videos. It is not a clear picture. The 7900 starts strong, has a weaker phase but is stronger when flying over the river later on. There the 4080 dips more down, even into the 50s. My conclusion is that both have it strengths. Hard to say. Edit 2: For the video I used the Nvidia driver 526.98 WHQL, I just installed the newer version 527.56 WHQL and it performs better. I will create a video tomorrow as I´m tired and I´m ready to go to bed.

I can even split the screen of the ultrawide into two halfs, in that case I should not even have the streched issue. I´m curious and most probably will do it tonight already. But congrats to your new card and the good results. A good buy from my point of view. If you can sent me your track file I could run the identical benchmark.

Thanks a lot for sharing, very interesting. As you have the same CPU than I have I will see if I can simulate the same resolution on my wide screen display. Should be feasable. Then we can theoretically compare the 7900 XTX with the 4080. Actually I´m not at home but at the weekend I should find the time. Never did a video so most probably I will post screenshots.
