  1. I understand, don't take it the wrong way eekz. The ground targets are nice but once you've done them once or twice they are not too crazy. After that most people tend to ignore them. On a side note I remember you mentioned implementing the 'bombers' from the burning skies event. Did you ever get any farther in this? Would maybe be interesting to encourage the occasional high altitude scuffle.
  2. Was something changed in today's patch? Feels different. Only minimal but there is a difference.
  3. Vulching is fine on campaign or real mission servers like Case blue etc but I don't see the point in dogfight server's, which lets be honest, is what the Burning Skies server is. The only exception to this is chasing someone who is running away from a fight. On the blue side there are 2 airfields anyway, so maybe if you are getting strafed change slots? Most people strafing have pretty poor aim and end up a smoking fireball within 2 passes anyway. I usually find they are preoccupied enough that taking off on the grass and going out low means no one will see you till you've got enough altitude to be dangerous.
  4. Between 250-300 try working more with the rudder and leave the ailerons as close to neutral as possible. That was the key for flying low speed after the 'clamping' changes a few patches ago. Other than that a bit of flaps are always good. AFA curves idk what stick you have but I still prefer the 109 with 0 curve and 0 saturation on all axes except rudder with a curve of 10 (since my pedals are pretty crappy around the middle) 250-300 Km/h is a bad speed to be against a Spitfire anyway (unless you are way above him). Works against Mustangs but also only if they are silly enough to get that slow with you.
  5. With flaps down to the 2nd mark the 109 comes up on the mainwheels quite nicely (not sure what speed but it is quite 'comfortable'. Just need to give it a bit more right rudder and maybe a touch of right aileron when the tail comes up. Will be a bit sudden with the left yaw but nothing too crazy.
  6. What David said. Rolling is rather nice now, the elevator and rudder need looking at IMO.
  7. I think the 8 billion flak guns we have parked around the airfield atm are enough... That and the fact they are indestructible.... and that you have 2 airfields....
  8. Just gonna leave this here... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Otn7QwzmbGk&feature=share
  9. Sad to hear this. Strangely enough I know of at least one sound mod for the 109 (IDB v2.0 by 5utka) that manages to fix it. It's possible he just made the engine so loud in comparison that you couldn't hear it anymore. TBH idc how ED does it but since it is clearly possible by modders I would hope that they could get it done as well....
  10. I noticed that this happens with gun triggers as well (pilot keeps shooting when blacked out). Saw some Mustangs spinning out of control after being shot spraying the guns everywhere. Just thought they were upset until it happened to me one day.
  11. I haven't had it personally but have had some of the people I fly with complain about shooting a spit's tail off and they grow them back sometimes. Happened multiple times.
  12. Nice! Keep it up, it's the only way to get better.
  13. Well step 1 is to cut all the parts out of the video where you crash into the ground, miss your target completely, get shot down and or do anything else stupid. Makes one look very good :music_whistling: In all honesty I'm not that good, there are others that I fly with who are much better. I have a fair bit of practice at this point though and flying with good pilots/wingmen really helps ease the learning curve. Holding energy comes down to clean and disciplined flying. Try to stay calm in a fight and know that you cant outturn a spit at 300 km/h no matter how hard you pull. Go back up and try again. In the 109 getting a feel for the rudder and flying coordinated makes a big difference as well. All in all practice is essentially the best tip I have to offer. And find a good mentor/squadron of people to fly with. Other than that make sure you have the labels turned on in Burning skies. =BS= eekz did a good job getting them to the point where they are actually pretty good now. Spotting in DCS is also just a lot of practice and getting used to.
  14. Never! Also it's hardly stealing when your just reclaiming them from an impatient flight lead who doesn't know how to hold himself back when he sees an enemy airplane :P
  15. 1st thing i did was shift the cockpit position higher and back a bit. 2. fiddle with trackir so that you can get your head up a bit higher. I usually lean up as high as i can without losing the pipper in the middle. As far as shooting goes, I've been having a surprisingly good time of it. The hispanos really pack a punch and the 303s are astoundingly effective if you hit at the right angle\ get good bursts at convergence. Obviously in turns you lose them under the nose but if you get close enough and pull real quick, give it a burst and then let out again to get a better look i seem to see em come out smoking a fair bit. Probably works even better with practice. Also you can shoot really well from farther out. The tracers are actually visible and usable unlike in the other ac and the ballistics are great. Maybe its begginners luck but im loving the spits armament!
  16. First few kills in the Spitfire on Burning Skies yesterday. And a few clips of the Spit getting killed.
  17. @MaxDamage Yes the ai are cheaters but they (at least the 109, haven't tried the spit yet but hear it's similar) are good for training energy efficient flying against. If you can maintain energy and even gain position on them then you know your stick and rudder skills are getting pretty decent. The maneuvering side is also good for practicing but after a while you know their moves and can predict them fairly well. Also as Krupi already pointed out, I flew it against other people as well. Saying it's crap is pretty wide of the mark IMO. Just cause you can't kill stuff doesn't mean she doesn't have it in her...
  18. What Krupi said. She seems pretty good to me. In a few tests I've had a much easier time killing the excellent 109 Ai and had good chances against some very very good 109 pilots. In non 1 on 1 situations its a bit different and the lack of speed hurts her a bit more but I think once people get more practice she'll be even deadlier. The XIV will be nightmare fuel if it's ever released. Who knows maybe it'll happen in this lifetime... :P
  19. Yeah then I guess something about that power setting doesn't like lower spec computers. Maybe open a seperate thread about it and see if the Devs can find anything.
  20. I had this earlier as well humptydumpty I got a new PC and now don't have it anymore but always thought that was an odd one. I thought maybe it has to do with the FM trying to cope with low torque or something but I have no clue tbh.
  21. Same, especially when performance gets a bit choppy it happens more often. This occurs in the 109 as well sometimes.
  22. Obviously the prop texture is not the only thing causing the FPS drop. It may be one of several things but not the only thing. I also notice about 15 FPS less with the mirror on in the spit sometimes even 30FPS. Really hope something can be done about this as I quite like the mirror in the Spit.
  23. Not sure about the wing tearing. Maybe the stick forces aren't implemented yet? I've heard this said a couple of times but tbh have no clue. AFA aileron trim no it doesn't
  24. Here's mine as well as a few extra  Plus a bonus clip just for David :pilotfly: Excuse the poor editing and occasionally sub par gunnery.
  25. Yes it's been this way for a while unfortunately.
