  1. To stop wild speculations and rumours. We will address this in a few weeks and will give more detailed news. About the Airbus License, all the licenses of Polychop on the side of Airbus presist and will not leave the company, and no Polychop Simulation is not Oliver Michel himself. The company was founded by 3 people of which 2 will maintain the company. More details on plans during the year in newsfeeds. Any other DCS 105 project would have to address Airbus Helicopters themselfs. I do collect the questions raised here, so if you have any, feel free to ask. If possible please do not double post questions. Thanks in advance
  2. about the militar pilots, yes they are there. I can tell from first hand cause I regularly fly with a us army Ex OH58D Kiowa Warrior pilot who is transitioning to a different helo right now in multicrew or we take hueys or jets or each flys a an own gazelle, depends on the stuff we want to do. I did learn a lot from him too and well these guys are awesome teachers. I sometimes think they reflect thier own instructors in some way. You should see wht he does with the huey in dcs. last time he lost his tailrotor and still flew and landed her. it was awesome to watch from nb2 and he explained afterwards the whole process how to land a helicopter with loss of tailrotor. so yes enjoy the guy, i bet you have a great time
  3. soon is an undefined time terminology. so soon fits well the news will be when we are ready for the news Your Polychop Team
  4. Dear community. First of all, we are still reading the postings and discussions of interest. I can assure you that we discussed the Gazelle a lot in the past. Currently I am waiting for some response from the french army about the Gazelle. At the moment what we can state is, that the SA342M Gazelle in the game flys very close to what the real thing is like. Unfortuantely the french SCAS system is always active in the background of the system and we did receive the intel that the pilots do fight the SCAS sytem regularly as we do to in the sim. We do await more data on the Gazelle. As soon we do have the intel we will take another look into the module. When that will be depends on many factors. If someone is tired fighting the SCAS like the french army pilots, then we do recommend, same what the army pilots did tell us, to switch off all aiding systems like gyro and AP. About the VRS what people do feel would be an issue, we have the following intel for you. The french SA342M Gazelle has different composite blades then any other Gazelle version out there. The blades are optimised for lift do to the heavy Viviane system and it is very hard to bring the 342M into a VRS condition in reallife and in the sim. We have had a couple occasions though on the NEVADA map where we had experianced VRS in a high hover, hot weather condition and were not able to recover fast enough. If anybody still has issues with the trim, please switch off the FFB function ingame. The trim should work as it is planed. We wish you for now a happy flying and hope you still enjoy the Gazelle as we still enjoy her although we are stuck in new developments. Polychop Team
  5. No. 1st , the huey pilots are the huey pilots. 2nd these pilots are build with reallife scales of general humans. they wear combat vests and pictures of french pilots in combat show that in reallife they are even packet more then the once in the game. 3rd, this cockpit is super tiny and who ever had the chance to sit in a gazelle or any similar helicopter without wearing a combat vest with platings knows how narrow it was and can imagine how narrow it will be when you wear vests and other combat stuff
  6. if the gazelle would be an underslung
  7. You can see a little sudden pitchup on the torque meter, top right gauge next to the indicated airspeed.
  8. Imagine the ASSTA 3.1 as the german counterpart to the RAF GR4, although both differ in cockpit design they are both at the similar level of an up to date progress. I can not speak much about the ASSTA 3.1. What I can sy though is the fact that the ASSTA program keeps the Tornado fleet combat ready until 2025 minimum. Do to the NATO and Panavia restrictions is the ASSTA 3.1 upgraded Tornado completly restricted, unfortunately.

  10. @wolf5: Thanks for your support ;-) It is always nice to read comments of people that actually know the real deal and point out the things how they really are. I do not like assumptions based on missing intel. Who wants to know how the real helicopter works has to perform the outhover in multicrew.
  11. Well, guys I have a question about the ocolus. I tested it in a demo session in a store with some rollercoaster demo. The resolution in the OCR was not satisfieng I thought. It looked like a 1024 x 1024 resolution or less andwas really pixelated and nothing close to what I saw on the external TV. Besides the framerate issues I read here I would like to know how the OCR is and if the Picture you see in the OCR is still without AA and at such a low resolution. Anybody who might hav the chance to give me a little insight on that, cause I am thinking of buying one soon for my birthday
  12. @Oberfeldwebel Elmo: you are correct on that one and there are reasons why we have NDAs. Basically it is all a bit complicated or not. Depends on which side of the row you stand :-) :pilotfly:
  13. 3% deadzone gives you the impression of a mechanical delay which hapens in real helicopters.
  14. The sa342m gazelle has a liftoptimised blade. To achiev optimised lift you have to sacrafice the ability for speed cause the blades airfoil changes. The only version of the 3 given variants that has correct performance data is the viviane hot. We added the weapons to the orher semirealistic versions for the versitlity that the player could enjoy in the game. Right now we have not decided if we will change the fm of the 341L , which it originally would be. Hope this shines a bit of light onto that topic. And in normal flight you will reach 230 - 240 kmph max in a 342m. It is more likely 200-220 kmph max cause that is what an average pilot will manage in normal condotions..
  15. I would be really happy if the bashing could maybe stop and people can get back to constructiv critisism. Bashing will get you nowhere besides producing deaf ears, not just on our side. today I had a meeting with 2 real pilots, not just simulations wanabees like I am one of them. 4000+ hours on a gazelle should give this pilot enough reference and experiance to actually state what feels wrong. Contrary to every not pilot, this thing does not fly like a huey in reallife. We talked about many things that are mentioned by the community guys. a statement of the pilot was that this community, where he is also flying and reads the posts, should not assume anything that they do not know about this helicopter. We will add new stuff in the future, but a bit patience is always needed and if i my memory is correct the gazelle is not bad when we talk about bug management and the time it took in the past ;-) So I still hope everybody had a nice christmas and will have a happy new year. for the forum admins I recommend to close this threat cause it seems to me and the team that people rather like to bash developers instead of posting realistic and well communicated critisism . cheers
  16. Hi Fredo, nobody said that changing the blades would change the laws of physics, or did any of polychop ever wrote something like that ? No We stated numerous times that we have seen the documents many times. Anything you can come up with as document consider that we might have seen it already or that it was provided to us by many other sources. Maybe we do not fix it in your timescale, true, but in the end it will be fixed. The only thing we as developing team, that is still pulling this off as 2nd job, ask for is patience. Not more and not less, which sounds fair to me, cause during the past year we tryed to be as fair as possible to our customers too, no matter how many complaints or bashing we did read about the SA342M Gazelle and we also brought 3 versions of one helicopter for the price of one, which is also fair in my opinion, although it is not on par with bussniess. I still wish you a wonderful christmas and all the fun in flying the DCS world game and while you fly your game, we keep working on stuff like new 3D files of helicopters and programming the stuff that needs to be programmed.
  17. Please take in consideration that the tested blades are different blades and not optimised for lift like the SA342M blades, which had to be done do to the VIVIANE systems weight. We read a lot on the forums and have read many many documents on the gazelle during the past 3 years, also some documents directly from N.A.S.A.
  18. Have you ever encounterred the VRS in the Gazelle ? I have many times and also in high hover conditions in DCS 2.0 and I dropped like a stone and could not recover as usual like at low altitudes in the kaukasus region just pulling the collectiv to a max position, overtroque and keep flying The video looks impressing but rather scry, cause I have no clue why the pilot did pull the collective, he should have nosed down and recovered from the VRS that way. the extrem yaw to the left is an indiction for the collective pull. I hate to look at videos of accidents and take them into account for a discussion, cause in the end we have zero intel on the conditions. for example, the stealthy black hawk on the operation jeronimo, the pilot who ended in a crash was one o the 2 best army helicopter pilots. What happened, the heat build up in the compound made the engine lose power and the hover was not possible anymore and he ended in a state similar to VRS in combination with a loss of power. today we do know, but back then we only saw the tail and speculations blew the net. As long there are no hard facts it is a speculation and we do not like them on our end, to be honest. Lately I flew many many hours with a Kiowa pilot and i asked him, what do you think of the gazelle after you have flown her for many hours now. He likes it a lot, cause it reminds him of his real life workhorse. Anyways, we try to keep track on the things that are discovered. some things that are mentioned by users sometimes are bugs, but sometimes they are not. Plus some of the guys of the french army are members in the forum too and read careful what people write about thier helicopter in the sim. Thanks to these guys, although I will not reveal thier names
  19. Please consider that the SA342M has completely different blades then any other -gazelle ever had. I myself had to learn a few things abut that 342M and thought things are not ok, but in the end, what we received from so many channels of intel, all seems to be close to the SA342M as it should be. Little things here and there need a tweaking yes, but the FM is very close to the real helicopter. By the way, if anybody says it should fly like x or y, it is interesting that nobody ever mentioned tht there is no elicopter in the world that flys like the other of the same kind. They all have thier unique flightbehaviors. We can only bring it close to what it should be but it will never be the THING of 100% cause it can not be, ever.
  20. @all: I have read a lot about sensitivity and twitchines and a lot more about some strange flight behaviour. Let me first state that none of us uses a saturation or curve anymore for a long time now. One of us had to when he was new to the project and that is ok. I can tell you that no extension is needed and no saturation or anything else. I fly the gazelle with a single warthog and my spring is still in it plus saitek rudders. What is the most important, and nicolas is correct about it, do not overcompensate and if you do keep in mind that all laws of physics apply. Inertia is also there. A force can only be counter acted by a counterforce so you have to also counter the overcompensation. I sometimes overcompensate too at 5 meters altitude at 200km/h when i do hard turns with 30° - 50° bank. That is natural. You have to balance her. What i recommended a pilot i flew in a multicrew session last week, cause he wanted to see for himself a turn without altitude loss, was a certain training course for the gazelle. I myself practised about 10 flighthours pure take off , manual hover, landing. After that i did take off, slow taxing, not faster then 50km/h most of the times slower and staying on the taxiway center all the time, hover and final landing. This was also a 8 - 10 hour pure flightpractise. After that i felt comfortible enough to really start flying. After a few hours of flying about 20+ i started basic manuvers like fast approach and a full stop to hover. Ohh back then i only had a little curve on the rudders which we later on addapted cause the rudder speed was only a bit to fast according to the french gazelle pilots who tested her for us. Today after approximately 150+ hours i can really fly her without thinking and musclememory kicks in the inputs most of the time. I can only recommend an intensiv training of the basics with this bird cause she behaves way different. Over all i hope this little insight of how i approached that jumping gazelle in the beginning helps you or others. Have a nice weekend flying. Cheers Sven
  21. according to our informations the pilot fires the gun with his trigger and the rockets with a pickle button. already in the l version the weapon release is saperated. please take in consideration that in a real M version the pilot is not in control of the weapons at all. Thanks
  22. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. I think it is always good to learn or compare knowledge. Hope to talk to you soon.
  23. Hi guys, little screenshot from a dev, cause I figured nobody has really seen it what we did add ;-) Many thanks go to The Fragger for this wonderful recreation of the Tiger Gazelle of the 2016 Tigermeet Enjoy
  24. I know what you guys all talk about. Funny is, untill my girl and I went to an airshow the first time 4 years ago, she always looked at my first love as if i would be crasy. All chanced when she saw a display, maybe the best display I have ever seen, of a finnish f18c. 2nd awesome display that impressed her was the f16c display of the "solo turk" After that it was clear, she likes fast jets. Unfortunately I could never convince her to fly the sim. I even asked her if she wants to be the first woman to fly the gazelle, but she always rejected. She supports it as long I still equal her like a fast jet and still admire her ;)
