[2.5] OB - AP Switches don't change anythink when flying !
borchi_2b replied to sunski34's topic in Bugs and Problems
When the Gyro is activ the AP is also engaged in the background and helps your helicopter to be more stable. Gyro on and AP on means you can really use the Autopilot functions like alt hold or heading hold. Gyro uses the AP channel to actually make use of the SAS system in the end and makes your helicopter more stable. I hope I explained it correct -
There are talks in the background done with a developer. Not sure if this could become a FFB. If so it would be even more pricy then the one we already provided info on to the dev. Which one it is ad whom we talked to in the past 4 months will not be spilled until the devices are finished for our own very first implementation.

@Ramires: Please test stuff like ground cushion/ Ground effect first, before you report something that is already there since the release in April 2016. Thank you

@Alpha-87: Thanks a lot for your detailed answer. We do comprehend the tragedy as others do and I think nobody will comment improper to your post. We hope you and your comrades could recover from the loss of friends at some point of time and keep them in a good memory.

Hi, when the Gazelle is used in multiplayer with 2 pilots you have only limited access to certain swtches and functions for each position. This is related to the way how DCS is structured. Buttons that can be used by the copilot will not be accessable for the pilot and vise versa. Enjoy :pilotfly::joystick:

@Jester986: loss of a control gets you killed yes, but it depends which control. If you suffer a loss of tailrotor you can still land her and survive. had to do it a few times in dcs. My us army buddy taught me in dcs how to do it, after I saw him do that in a combat mission. You control the yaw by the torque of the rotor, so you use the throttle to control the ammount. But if you are hit bad in a helicopter you are done.

Auto hover engaged, suddenly goes forward like ALT autopilot
borchi_2b replied to KungFu's topic in SA-342M Gazelle
Can you restart your mission and try again if this is repeating ? Such behavior should not happen. So if this happens again, my personal advise would be to check your controls for bindings, cause for me it sound as if you made an input and something strange s happening that normally should not, obviously. -
Hi to all of you. I have heard and seen many requests that people want to know what is happening behind the curtains of Polychop Simulations. We do understand the interest and we are more then happy that the community is still interested in our company and the product we sell currently and the products that are planned. I can not and will not reveal much for now what is planned and what is going on. I can only state so far that we are at a point, where we negotiated the terms of licensing for a certain number of helicopters with well known manufacturers. Yes it is more then only one manufacturer, which was only possible do to the help of Josh and Erik. I am not sure how we can ever pay this back, but I am sure we will figure out something. We also decided to have our mainfocus on DCS, but we are also looking into a simulation software that is specifically non combat, which does not imply that we cancel out a civil helicopter for DCS. At the end I want to state that we will defenately share more news this year and that we also plan a contest for the world wide community of flightsim. What kind of contest this will be and to which product this is linked will be revealed in a seperate news about it. Now and then we will also be seen on social media, but we will anounce that a few weeks ahead. That is it for now and I wish all of you a productiv weekend. Your Polychop team

Opened topic about your post that states the interest about what is going on

@Red Dragon DK: Initially we only had the 342M Viviane in plannings. Later on we decided to extend the module. For a customer it might sound resonable to do as many versions of a helicopter as possible, but in most cases this is a bad idea in terms of production and maintenance of the module. You have to do equal ammount of ork on all 4 versions as if it would be only one module. Would you buy a Gazelle for DCs for 200$ ?, I would not myself, so I can not expect a customer to do so. Fact is, our next helicopters we have planned and are also in the pipeline at certain stages will all be one version we decide. Even if there are 3 modules that might have multiple versions on the market, we already made a choice and picked specific versions that seem to be logical for us. And the versions we picked, well, how should I say it without influendcing or sounding biast? --the customers will not want to fly a different variant, lets say it that way What we chose this will be revealed step by step, but for now not all contracts are signed ;) @ViEnShOcK: Yes a Chinook would be nice, but the rotordesign is the most complicated in the helicopter world and is unique in all respects, so this is something that will have to wait for a long time, others have higher priority on our side. About the time when we will have our next module being released will not be shared yet. Expect news about modules and at some point we will set a date

What is a helicopter able to do and perform ?
borchi_2b replied to borchi_2b's topic in Polychop-Simulations
@focha: Yes we do, cause we have a maintenance guy onboard that send me the link to the video and we discussed it. Not uch happened to the airframe itself. It was checked more into the depth but that is it. Nothing roke or anything, and the magic to such flight is a simple one. Do not cut your tail ;) -
Ohh and by mentioning a masterchef I am not the one I am speaking about. The masterchef is Patrick, I am only running the restaurant and search for new menues we can serve and prepare everything for the masterchef to be able to cook the delicious masterpiece. ;)

@myHelljumper: You might have seen us being very activ lately in our discord channel. This is cause we are testing our new FM a lot. Pat tested with french pilot and I did with guys of the us army, so on all sides the guys are happy. There will always be poeple that have to bash n something when they are annonymous in the internet, hidden behind a forum name, so we can do very little about it.
-
About that mentioned topic there and claims made by people that our gazelle is not affected by wind I have to state that we decided not to comment directly to certain post made in that topic at the moment. My family taught me, if you have no nice words left as expression about something it is the point where you stop talking. Let me state one last thing about our FM. We use windtunnel calculations that take up to one month of constant calculations 24/7. additionally we use airfoil data and the manuals that we have recieved. As final touch and feel we have real helicopter pilots of different origin fly our product to ensure they feel happy and it feels right to them.

The master chef has prepared a very very delicious dinner for you guys, after I had been out to find a new recipe and get instructions for it from the french michellin star cook

Releasing a complete module in a module will not happen, so if there is a new product from us in the futre, do not expect in case of a Kiowa to also find a 206 in that module. I want to state that now before people start the develop false expectations. We released the Gazelle as we did to many reasons, but inculding 4 modules into one will not be the case in the future.
-
I will not go into details here with an answer, but the reason for not revealing which platform we will use for the Kiowa is related to negotiations. There is not more to say cause I do not want to risk to harm such negotiations. We do have a plan, but we will have to see if bigger players will allow us to go for DCS in first place. Who and why and so on is confidential and I will not disclose anything in that matter to anybody, besides the people that have to know. I am sorry I thank you guys for your comprehension.

Since many people praise the Bo105 for its stunts and fancy here for it, I have to admid that I think people often forget that any articulated rotor is capable of doing so. Here is a video evidence of a normal bussiness helicopter doing a perfect loop and a roll. Should I mention that this is one of my favourite rotorheads of all or at least the military sister of this civil bird ?
-
Ok, this is not a bug, this is a feature of the AP. We have implemented one of the later AP modes that are set through magnetic trim. It is correct that the magnetic trim holds the additude when used. There is a certain way how the french pilots do use the helicopter. I can not go into to much detail, but they use the magnetic break constantly in normal flight in turns. Why? Less workload. If we would have used the latest AP mode oof the magnetic trim it would also hold your yaw at a desired position till you reach a certain speed, then it will cancel the yaw hold totally. I do not want to go into to much details about the latest real life AP cause we are not inculding it or virtual pilots would have less fun flying her, cause it would get even easier. Always remember, it is a combat helicopter and you want to keep combat machines as simple and straight forward as possible.

A few more updates are to come. We are getting closer every day to make it a final call and leave Beta. I am looking forward to this a lot.
-
Well there was no cheap option to replace the bo105 in the german army. So you end up at the 206. They could have asked at the french army if there are a few Gazelles left, cause they are very similar to the BO105
