  1. I know that most of you guys don't want to hear this since this is an AMD focused thread, but Intel 12th gen and especially Intel 13th gen processors are extremely well made, they run very efficiently and have excellent single-thread and multithreaded performance. AMD has been knocking it out of the park in the last few generations but Intel has managed to come back strong with these chips (especially the 13th gen chips) and they are now consistently winning the price/performance battle in most segments. Not trying to start a thread war here, just mentioning this because a lot of people seem to be surprised by how well Intel has been doing in benchmarks lately even against the best X3D chips.
  2. Who is Relics? I've tried finding any info or hints of an F-111 in development but so far....zilch.
  3. I haven't had a PC boot in 20 seconds since going from Harddisk to SSD. (And this is SATA SSDs, not even NVME) This might not be important for people who run their machines 24/7 but I like to shut down my PC when it's not in use.
  4. How long do these 7XXX systems take to boot? I heard some pretty terrible things.
  5. It very rarely (if ever) carried any ordnance on the outermost pylons. It "could" do it but this was rarely used, since it made the jet dangerously heavy and lowered it's operational radius. Even with just the two innermost pylons on each wing, which could by the way rotate, and it's internal bomb bay this jet could carry a lot of ordnance. Why risk the life of the crew when you can just add another jet to the package and do the mission more efficiently and safely?

    Turbulence

Did you miss the part where said he had 4500 of real hours of flight time? I've flown in big jets before and yes even in what appears to be perfectly "clear" air you can get extreme amounts of turbulence.
  7. It can't turn to save it's life, so if you are actually forced to use them, you are probably dead already. Happily you don't "need" sidewinders on this thing. It will outrun anything, and I mean anything on the deck. If you get in trouble Just go low, and go fast. You will have more fuel and more speed on the deck than pretty much anything else out there, and in the low thick air missiles will have trouble catching up to you. This thing is seriously one of the best bombers ever built, nothing even comes close except the B1 maybe, but that is more of a strategic bomber than a tactical one.
  8. You are mistaken. The TF30 was unreliable at the start of it's service life, mostly because it was used interim engine in the F14 which is a fighter/interceptor and not a low flying interdictor/bomber. As for the rest of your concerns, you can read up about the F-111 in the thread I posted above but I'll leave just one snippet here: Ok here is just one example I dug up from the 1972-73 campaign over Vietnam which reflects on the F-111A service record in that time period: "By the end of hostilities the 474th TFW had chalked up well over 4000 missions, dropping 74,000 bombs, mainly 500 lb but also 2000 lb and cluster munitions. Eight aircraft were lost (seven crews), mainly in the initial phases of the deployment, resulting in an overall loss rate of 0.2%. A typical mission would involve a low level high subsonic run in with a payload of twelve 500 lb bombs, the whole mission lasting 2.5 hours and flown in pitch black darkness. Significantly all missions were flown without the support of tankers, ECM platforms, Wild Weasel SAM suppression aircraft and fighter cover. Each F-111A could carry twice the payload of an F-4 Phantom over 2.5 times the range and the USAF acknowledged the aircraft as being the most cost effective employed throughout the conflict."
  9. The 3090s get hot. Also, you need to under-volt, NOT I repeat NOT overclock that card. It doesn't lose much performance (realistically 1-2%) and it runs much cooler and more efficiently. Another thing to consider is your ambient case temperatures and airflow. All that heat needs to go somewhere and if you are not dissipating it properly it you will run into thermal issues. At 4K you should really see much better frames than you are getting compared to the 1080ti. Did you do a clean reinstall of your drivers?
  10. Holy batman necro thread! And here I thought there was a mini update on the EF. Tsk. Tsk. Tsk. Naughty boy @Tirola01
  11. @PB0_corse66 currently at work and I don't have time to look at the track, just a quick question what was your initial altitude at time of launch, and what was the approximate altitude of the bandit? Also what was the closing speed?
  12. No, you will notice a huge improvement. However you will also notice a big jump as soon as you upgrade that CPU whenever you get around to it.
  13. Or you could, you know, just edit the string. It should take you 2 seconds.
  14. To all those having issues, make sure you are running the latest official version of Windows 10 or 11.
  15. How is that not changing things? Once you load it up, you suddenly have a much heavier helicopter. More mass = more inertia. Completely different handling.
  16. Seriously? So, less power required, less torque required will change absolutely nothing. Yeah, makes perfect sense
  17. More importantly the Huey will be more manageable at edge of the envelope conditions, which is where the "more enjoy" is, flying this thing at treetop level and coming in for fast landings is basically the reason I bought the Huey, and while I have been able to manage doing it, it always felt like I was barely able to keep it from falling out of the sky. Some of that is definitely due to pilot error, but it looks like that wasn't the whole story. KUDOS to the OP, hopefully Eagle Dynamics gets this sorted during this decade.
  18. only if you game at 1080p or 1440p. That 192bit bus really hurts it at bigger resolutions and VR.
  19. It is a business decision, made by Eagle Dynamics and it makes perfect sense. They don't release two products at the same time (or close to the same time) to maximise sales of both products. It's elementary economics 101. I say Eagle Dynamics because while Heatblur or Razbam might say that they don't care, Eagle Dynamics takes 30% (or whatever amount) of the cut and they NEED to make sure that they sell as many copies of each module as they can. They will never outright say this though, but just look at the history of their past releases I don't recall the last time two or more modules were released at the same time.
  20. I would usually say "you must be new around here" but I know you're not, so I wont.
  21. That cooler works pretty great, and can cool up to 200Watt TDP. Just make sure that your case and ambient temperature is not too high. By that I mean make sure that your case has enough airflow, or keep one side permanently open.
  22. What are the navigation capabilites of this airplane? I assume that since it's primary role was as an interceptor it was directed by ground based GCI to and from it's base to a target location, patrol area etc. How will this be simulated in the game?
  23. This is why you shouldn't build hype by making announcements of preorders. There is really no point.
  24. No matter how many times this is brought up, people will expect this to be the miracle "pill" that fixes DCS VR performance.
