  1. Yep it's a know bug, currently when you start DCS World, it's displayed in full screen borderless mode, whatever the setting you choose in option tab. The only way to get rid of that is to press left alt+enter to be in true full screen mode. Gameplay is smoother with this trick, in conjunction with BOTH shadows options set to flat and flat only....even to low, it's a stutter fest.
  2. Oooooooooh yes if only.......... we can dream, no?
  3. Impressive, very nice. It's an hard process, i wish you good luck!
  4. You've answered about the RAM usage, thank you. more comprehensible now.
  5. I totally agree with your comment, i'm not complaining about this.... threre are very few games who use our hardware at his full potential, so if this game need 16GB of RAM, i'm ok with this, this is progress and it's still on BETA stage, wait and see how it will improve in the future.... but i really want to know why V1.5.xx use so much RAM compared to 1.2.xx with the same map.
  6. I was on the same situation before upgrading to 16GB of RAM.... an SDD will decrease the loading time, sure, but won't solve anythings related to the RAM usage. Simple, with 8GB of RAM on a multiplayers server, with both flat shadows enabled, no more than 15/30 MN of game before crash, not to mention the BIG freezes. 16GB solved the problem, but RAM usage is very high, often 9GB+ in multiplayers.
  7. I second that!
  8. Yes maybe not very clear but it can be hard to explain when your english isn't perfect :) My setup look like your in the picture (the screens position), and i would like to set it as follow: -top screen: display HUD view (ALT+F1) -bottom screen: main panel, left/right console for easy access to the switch, better readibality of the gauges, with custom snapviews (let's say 3: left console/main panel/right console) I have a TIR, it's a great tool, but it can be a pain to press certains buttons and sometimes very jerky if FPS are low, but nice for A/A though. Of course the HUD view (top screen) have to stay this way, and controlable with TIR.... and i understand it's certainly not feasible. Not sure if it's clear now :) ......
  9. Nice to you, i'm a total noob in multi-monitors setup. I understand what Cichlidfan explain to me, and i'm aware that DCS can't handle different views at the same time in multi-monitors setup. If it's feasible, let me know.
  10. Ok, thank you for your quick reply. So fingers crossed for a nice HELIOS profile someday...
  11. Hi all. I play this sim mostly on 32'', native resolution 1920x1080. I've had recently the opportunity (thank's to an old friend of mine) to add a 2nd screen to my config, wich is 24'', 1920x1080 native resolution. My setup is the following: 32'': top 24'' : bottom No problem for configuring the screens with windows, everything is ok. Now the question(s): Is it possible with the M-2000 to set the top screen with the HUD view only and the second for the cockpit, i mean the gauges AND the console? My main objective is to have the gauges and all the clickable stuff easily readable/accessible. I know there are HELIOS/IKARUS/HAWG TOUCH available for this but i prefer ask before... thank you!
  12. I agree. I don't understand why with the same terrain/objects/etc...this game use so much RAM. The change was "only" in the API (directx9>now directx11). FPS are far better than before with the old 1.2.xx, but damn, this RAM usage is crazy!
  13. Yep i can confirm this, 16Gb is the way to go (sadly). Before my upgrade to 16Gb (from 8Gb), wasn't able to stay on a server for more than 30MN (or less) before crash.... no more crash since my upgrade, but i experience freezes sometimes when zooming in/out....DCS is installed on a HDD tough, maybe the culprit.
  14. Sorry to say that but you don't have the minimum spec: Minimum system requirements: OS 64-bit Windows 7/8/10; DirectX11; CPU: Core i3; RAM: 8 GB; Free hard disk space: 30 GB; Video: 2 GB RAM card, DirectX11 - compatible; requires internet activation. Recommended system requirements: OS 64-bit Windows 7/8/10; DirectX11; CPU: Core i5+; RAM: 16GB; Hard disk space: 30 GB; Video: NVIDIA GeForce GTX780 / ATI R9 290 DirectX11 or better; Joystick; requires internet activation.
  15. Freezes (for 1 second or more) and stutters are very annoying, especially when zooming in/out/in/out or looking left/right when entering in a new area. Don't know with wich FOV while in cockpit you guys are using, but i try the following (in the Mirage): -FOV 60/65: stutter/freezes, looking around is a pain. -FOV 90/95: no stutters and still freezes but less, only at the start of the mission and sometimes in new area, not more. Make sense, FOV is a zoom after all. Sit in you cockpit, the smaller the FOV setting is, the farthest (or furthermost?? not sure about this word :D ) you will be able to see objects. So now i set my FOV to 90 in the Snapviews.lua and it's largely better.
  17. I understand your opinion, but the hard work they put into this model deserve money....free multicrews position for modules you don't buy would be very nice though, like ROF.
  19. Sound like a RAM problem, 6Gb is below the recommended spec, wich is 8Gb mimimum. Your HDD work like crazy because of the swap file. BTW, even with 16Gb, i have freeze in multiplayers when zooming and sometimes when looking around.... if you look RAM usage when in a lobby, you will see some crazy numbers... for me it's usually 10Gb or more....depend on the mission. Don't know why this SIM use so much RAM, it was less with the "old" 1.2 version. Edit: you can reduce your shadows options (both) to flat and flat only, this will help you. And the visibility setting: low or medium, not more.
  20. Love it! Thanks again :)
  21. Very nice, thank you for your work!
  22. Great! I live near the BA102 (unfortunately closed now ), memories.....
  23. ?? What Fab says, once you choose your settings, you have to restart DCS to apply them. And don't forget to hit left alt+enter to be in fullscreen mode.
  24. Virtual reality headsets are maybe a too "young" technology and waaaýyyy too demanding for our current systems, hard to handle a constant 75 or 90 fps in a credible environment with a lot of units/objects/etc (must be an amazing experience though)i'm not saying this is our hardware fault, sure ED need to optimize this, but it's on beta stage...wait and see and fingers crossed for better optimisation....and less crash too :)
  25. Yes sure should work fine because you play at the lowest setting, but you lost all the eye candy thing and you fly in an empty world now.... and visual is for me as important as the system modelling of an aircraft, I mean the immersion factor. What work for me: both flat shadows to flat, trees visibility no more than 9000, vis.range set to high, and it's perfect now. I don't use HDR (don't like the effect), civilian traffic depend wich mission I fly, but i can live without. Turning off sync is not a good idea, you waste energy and have to deal with screen tearing....
