Alt+enter when entering the game is essential, to get rid of that stutter. An important thing to do also is to be sure all your settings in Nvidia Control Panel or Nvidia Inspector are set to "application controlled", and probably the most important: the Power Management Mode, set to "prefer maximum performance". DCS is CPU intensive, see here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=157374 The more ghz the better...and the RAM: 8Gb is fine for SP, but not for MP, sadly. Last night i've played on the "TFP Operation Skyfall" server, when joined we were 18 players, i've checked the VRAM usage reported by the game (left Ctrl+Pause twice), it was showing me 14Gb+...

Interesting, never think about this. Thanks for the tip, I will give it a try to.

I think starway use 8K textures to avoid the repetitiveness of tiles at a certain altitude. Those textures looks greats, but i've found a strange bug (not sure if it's Starway's textures or DCS related): for those having FPS hit, it can be worth the try: i've installed the textures with JSGME, as always with mods, and set up a simple mission where i'm on the runway, ready for take off: FPS: between 55/78 (depend where i look), before 115/140  then i play with setting, nothing works....don't ask me why, i disabled the clutters/bushes (slider to 0m), FPS:118/146, ok....i think i've found the culprit.... i've re-enabled it, so slider at 1500m, FPS:115/140  Any ideas?

If you want to customize your own view, first: be sure to tick "enable users snapviews", in-game option. When you are in your cockpit (WITHOUT TrackIR), set your view like you want then hit left alt+numpad 0, your new view is saved. If you want to edit it manually, go to C:\Users\Saved Games\DCS\Config\View\SnapViews, find the aircraft you want, and edit the lines after this: [13] = {--default view A comprehensive guide: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=114260

Sure there is a problem with RAM usage, the more units, the worst it is. Even just a few players without nothing else or just a fews objects/ can lead to a crazy 12/13 GB RAM usage. One thing that was really annoying for me was the freeze when you zoom in, or look around in a new area....that was (partially) solved by the new Starway's texture mod, he tweaked some lua's files and it help.

Game options: tick "enable users snapviews", while in your cockpit, disable TrackIR, set your view to your own preference, hit left alt+numpad 0, now this is your new default view. Note that you have to press the "zoom: default" each time you sit in your cockpit for the first time, and not sure about this, but the TrackIR Z axis have to be assigned to the " camera: move forward/backward", not the zoom function.

DCS is know for eating alot of RAM, especially in MP. With 8GB, you can play SP fine, as me before, but for MP, you will need to put more RAM. With 16GB now, it's perfect for me, no stuttering, no crashes. Don't know your in-game settings, but both shadows settings to flat, visibility range to medium, trees at 10000, no clutters/bushes, HDR off can help you. We are all experiencing the same problem, BTW, 16GB RAM is the recommended system requirements: Recommended system requirements: OS 64-bit Windows 7/8/10; DirectX11; CPU: Core i5+; RAM: 16GB; Hard disk space: 30 GB; Video: NVIDIA GeForce GTX780 / ATI R9 290 DirectX11 or better; Joystick; requires internet activation.

GTX1070 (ten-seventy) who's buying it?
droopy114 replied to hughlb's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
About the performance in DCS World, my current GTX 970, coupled with an I5 4690K @4.5ghz + 16gb RAM @ 2133mhz perform very well on my main 1920x1080 monitor, I rarely see FPS going below 60, maybe in some areas, for ex. airbase with many people's and air defence. I'm not sure if it will rise the performance on this screen,DCS is heavily based on the CPU performance, I will buy it only with VR in mind. -
[M-2000C] Cockpit Views with proper Neck
droopy114 replied to droopy114's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Self bump, edited server.lua for the new 6DOF limit and also added the modified Views.lua, so you just have to choose wich files you want to install: Server.lua or Views.lua. -
GTX1070 (ten-seventy) who's buying it?
droopy114 replied to hughlb's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I'm seriously thinking about VR later this year, i think this card will offer the best price/performance ratio, compare to a 1080.... anyway, i'm a geek, and it's on my "to buy" list :D -
The default FOV for the F-15 is 88.727844, according to the Snapviews.lua. Maybe too much, you may try a setting like 80 or 75. First be sure you tick "enable user snapviews" in game options, then go to: c:\Users\Saved Games\DCS\Config\view Open SnapViews.lua with WordPad, type left Ctrl+F, search for F-15c, edit this: [13] = {--default view viewAngle = 88.727844,--FOV <<<change this value to 80 or 75 hAngle = 0.000000, vAngle = -9.678451, x_trans = 0.264295, y_trans = -0.064373, z_trans = 0.000000, rollAngle = 0.000000, Save and enjoy. For the target spotting problem, you can try this mod, work nice for me: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=160634

I vote for "$10 at least", and i agree with OP, more screenshots would be nice. -
replay still unusable inaccurate ?
droopy114 replied to bbrz's topic in Release Version Bugs and Problems (Read only)
And the Mirage, seems to be all perfect. I try a simple flight with the TF51, taxi/TO/landing....my flight was nice, but the replay crash me when taking off.
