If it has been a problem since you first got it. How long ago was that? I don't have anything that can help you. I've never seen that problem before. I've had DCS since 2013 and never experienced anything like that in the A10c or anything else. Clean install does this? If not maybe you corrupted a file or a mod gone wrong.

I always use Ds and just took a flight up on 2.0 Was firing around 7-8. I always tap TMS up short until it locks. Pressing once a second til i get lock. Always how i made sure i could get max range.

Yeah same problem. Glad I'm not alone.

Looking for easy but fun missions/ campaigns
Oscar Juliet replied to ebabil's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
I have a thread linked in my signature i created. I offer some suggestions there. Some of the default missions can be quite good for training. Then there is always DRAGONS training pack. -
Always a way to make things go quiet. So I'm trying to figure out how to mute it or turn it off.

It has been a month or so since I flew the A10c. I updated 2.0 and got in the cockpit. I noticed a beeping noise. Almost sounded like some kind of beacon coming through the radio. I started hot on the ramp and didn't touch anything. I tried to change radio frequencies but it still persisted. Did they change something I'm not familiar with? Anyone have any idea what could make a beacon type beeping.

I made a thread about it. It is linked in my signature. A10c would be a nice plane to learn to fly a simulator on. Worry about the weapon systems after you learn to fly the plane. I actually learned how to fly sims on IL2 CLOD in a BF109. THAT was hard. Learning all there was about prop pitch and what the plane can and can't do. I think the A10c is the easiest to fly. Very forgiving. Learn to be a pilot first then learn to take it into combat. Baby steps. One training mission at a time. Take good notes to reference later. Read my thread. It should help.

No pitch control, elevator barely moves
Oscar Juliet replied to dporter22's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
I occasionally will have this issue. I do not know what causes it. Occasionally all elevator movement is minimal. It is not me being crazy, not a mod, not a force feedback, not a hotas problem. Only have I ever had this problem in the DCS a10c module at random. Never on any other module or sim. Sometimes i happens after takeoff. Other times in the middle of a mission. It is weird. Rare for me to see it. -
They really need to outsource CA stuff so we get better updates. I think CA could be a badass RTS style game for those non-pilot's out there. I enjoy it from time to time and I hate playing as the vehicle first person. Mainly because even on 2.0 buildings do not stop enemy view and the vehicles can drive right through them. But as an RTS it wouldn't be so bad. AI vs AI is pretty balanced. But they need it like wargame or a little more in depth with the options of what you can do with the commands.

I teach people how to fly the A10c and the number one issues is that they are heads down in the cockpit. They have zero situational awareness because they want to bring all sensors up on both MFDs. With my experience most online servers will give you a coordinate of a city with some basic information of targets. You'll know what kind of SAM/AAA threats to expect but you won't know where they are exactly. I prefer to use my knowledge of distance from target to be safe from the SAM/AAA threats while orbiting at a decent altitutde so I can scan for targets. If JTAC is available that would be great but in my experience 90% of the time there is no real or AI JTAC. I always keep my TAD on my left MFD and my TGP on my right. If I'm using mavericks I will toggle my right MFD off of TGP to MAV. I always keep my TAD open for situational awareness when my face is in the cockpit. But at a moments notice I should have no issue looking out of my cockpit and finding the target. If you are so heads down you don't have a picture of the world around you and can't find a target by looking out of the cockpit you have done something wrong. It will mess you up and can get you killed. Especially if you become engaged and have to forget your sensors and actually fly. Also being heads up out of the cockpit is nice because you can look and make your turns. See the area you are shooting at. Judge much better distance on visual for your own needs to turn back on target. Rarely do I have to come in very low. I would only use that tactic if I knew based on JTAC or other info where a target is. Numerous times I've taken out SAM threats with guns this way. Pop up and blast it and then go back down. If you use a proper balance of the TAD and outside view you will always know exactly where you are.

Try running kneeboard builder as administrator. Other than that you'll have to troubleshoot it until you figure out what is wrong. It works fine on Windows 10 for me. There is another issue and that is one of the best ways to turn typed notes saved as a pdf into a kneeboard.

So I don't have any FFB controls. Just CH products. Didn't have an issue on 1.5.5 and now that I got 2.0 I can't use my trim. My buddy says his is working properly. I can see the stick trim moving in cockpit but not actually doing anything EDIT: Uncheck FFB in special settings. Might have misread the posts above. But that fixed it.

Sometimes if you're too far away they won't respond. I always waited and tried again if they didn't and it worked okay. Though on some missions with a lot of AI talking in the radio JTAC can't get a word in and neither can you. If you consistently get the same results in testing and are doing everything proper then I'd say it either behaves properly or is a bug.

Bunyap Sims on youtube has a section where he does an a10c campaign in Nevada. He uses the AI very effectively and also mentions their quirks. Sometimes the stuff they say on the radio doesn't mean what they are actually doing. I can't remember specifics but he manages to get them to do work somehow.

This module is such an amazing one that I did not touch for a long time. I did not touch it because I thought there was no way I could ever program all the buttons to my CH products. I also thought there was no way for me to understand everything there was to know about the aircraft. Remember to take good notes. Those notes are going to help you remember things when you quit flying for a week, a month, or longer. We all dream of flying once a day and keeping our skills in tip top shape. I've just dusted all my stuff off and it is amazing the muscle memory on my HOTAS. Not to mention the notes to remind me of everything. Though do yourself a favor and at least program your HOTAS, take off and land a couple times, browse the training missions before asking for help. There is nothing more frustrating than trying to help someone who won't help themselves. People offering training can do a lot to help fast track you to the awesome of ground pounding. Though you have to put some effort into it on your own. Best of luck.

I'm dusting everything off. Took a little time to fly a 777 in p3d on vatsim. Good times but sometimes you just need to shoot stuff. I am hoping this thread can be of assistance to people. I may be able to assist with questions or in game training this weekend. I use the the default mission surrounded as a good training tool. That and the open conflict server. Reply here and send a PM my way if you're interested.

I use CH products too. Your fighter stick has a rocker switch for your thumb where as mine is just a single button. I use that thumb button and my trigger to work the gun. The effect of the two stage trigger is minimal with what you will feel. Especially if you're shaky on the line up. But it does work. If you're firing the gun. It works :P

You should never have to 'jam the stick'or do any other crazy move to fix that. It is my understanding it simply cannot track where you want it due to the orientation of the aircraft. Mine is always on my right wing. So right wing toward target and I can track no problem.

So I did a clean install of windows 10 way back when and backed up my controls when I had windows 7. That has nothing to do with what I'm about to tell you. I couldn't figure out how to make my old controls my new controls. Since I spent time and effort mapping to my CH products for the A10c. It sucked when it didn't work. Credit: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=100998 Go here: Users>"Your PC name>Saved Games>DCS>Config>Input and backup all those files. These are what you will put in your new install of DCS. So you copy and paste the old saved files into the new area. Load DCS and wonder why your controls aren't there. Credit: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=146564 Click in the category of your controls and hit the load button at the top. Select the right file for the right control. It will load into the game. So now you have a bunch of red icons. Why is that? What is the red? Credit: http://www.aef-hq.com.au/aef4/showthread.php?45417-Red-sections-in-DCS-controls You just have to remake your modifiers most of the time which was my case. All my red controls were modifier based. 1) Backup Control Files 2) Overwrite Control Files 3) Load Control Files 4) Fix Modifiers to fix red control issues. I spent a long time not playing DCS because of the control issue. An hour or so of tinkering and digging got me back on track. I really hope his helps a lot of people.

I sent you a PM. Please go ahead and add me on steam. I will be available. I can assist with bomb runs and EVERYONE has problems with air refuel in all aircraft. It is a skill you'll have to practice and practice and swear at until you finally get it. CDU and TAD are pretty simple once you get to know what buttons do what. We can also work on those. Feel free to message me on steam any time.

There is a reason JTAC didn't cut it as a pilot .... =D Often their suggestions are poor unless you're in type 1. Then I've seen them pick some better weapon choices so you don't kill friendlies.

I will attempt to recreate such an error then. I was at an airbase a long way off from the grid and when I typed in the coords with the letters up front it gave me a cdu error. I had to type in the letters first and enter. Then the numbers and it worked just fine. There are all kinds of weird quirks that happen and sometimes we don't understand it. So if I find anything different I'll post here for informational purposes.

Hope this helps
