[Official] SimShaker for Aviators
Buckeye replied to f4l0's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
What settings are people running with? Mostly default? So far I've left everything as it was except I bumped Gun and Damage up to 100. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Joystick in the Center, or on the Side? Which is best and why? Wherever the real things is, for me (below setup works for all current DCS jets as nothing is a sidestick). When (if) I start flying choppers, I'll need a collective. When (if) the F-16 comes out, I'll need to invest in a secondary, non-extended, side stick. From this position I raise and lower the stick depending on where the stick sits in the real jet (the top pic the stick is set up lower than in the second pic where I am sitting) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Case II landing - check out the throttle movement

Here's to hoping VKB gets the TECS out to us ASAP then! -
The recent Euro release I saw said Q3, but who knows. We are all well aware this will likely be delayed, given history. And agreed, who cares how it looks? It's about how it feels, especially in VR (as you said)...for me, it should feel like the real grip, be the same shape as the real grip, and have the same layout as the real grip. To each other own, though  Indeed they are, however, their grip (on the Warthog at least) is the strength of their products. Their gimbal design is indeed absolute trash.

That's a very well made stick for but, but at the end of the day it's a Russian stick so many find it silly to use with a NATO jet...especially for the Hornet when they are upcoming options for replica sticks of the real things. I will be opting for a Gunfighter Pro Mk II, because I think it's the best base avaiable, but I would never use the MCG for flying NATO jets. Obviously, views on this will vary. Good quality throttles are coming. VPC says theirs will be out Q1 and VKB says the TECS will be out Q3.

...this is how NVG actually work in real life, you won't be able to read your gauges bc it's range is set to the far distance for what you're looking out of your canopy out at. Not a bug, just realistic. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Any links that explain how they have it working? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Made-to-measure JetSeat SE is now here and installed on my Steelcase Leap V2...it fits and looks absolutely perfect. And it adds so much to the VR experience, it's really pretty incredible. Definitely an A+ addition to my VR cockpit. Pics from after the install: Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

GAMETRIX KW-908 JETSEAT Andre, you've really outdone yourself with this custom one for me bud...it fits and looks absolutely perfect. And it adds so much to the VR experience, it's really pretty incredible. Definitely an A+ addition to my VR cockpit. 100% recommend this to anyone interested, it is absolutely worth the price. Pics from after the install: For reference, here was the sketch I made for Andre to fit my Steelcase Leap V2. He nailed it (and thank god I measured correctly): Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I'm sure he's aware of the MonsterTechs, I assume he is looking for more info on this beast: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks guys, I ended up running to Target earlier and picked up some World Travel Adapter set for $30 that worked. More than the cheaper alternatives, but I'm impatient and wanted to get it all set tonight. Appreciate the links. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Soooo this thing needs a power adapter for use in the United States, based on me looking at the A/C adapter plug upon receiving it just a few minutes ago?

Very easy to get them mixed up for sure! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

RealSimulator F/A-18 grip I believe you're correct. I've seen that it's 3-way many times but I believe it's a common misconception based on usage of the same stick design in other jets (i.e Harrier). I believe the "left" position is unused and you've got the rest [emoji1303] Also found this from Wags (so it's technically a 5 position): https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3342593&postcount=3 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Tried using the Touch controllers....personally, I found it to be really awkward. Not for me. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

If it's based on the real thing it'll be two way plus press. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

As long as one of them moves quickly when the Hornet drops, who really cares which one...ya know? I will probably just jump at whichever launches first. Although I would assume the RealSim would be better quality than TM's usual junk build.

Ah, darn...that is a deal breaker for me. Not even going to bother trying it out then. I can't stand those stupid gloves being visible in the cockpit, especially when they're not even attached to anything (a virtual pilot's arm/body). Maybe someday there will be an update on this and I will get around to giving it a look. Appreciate all of the responses to my questions

Does it still show the gloves in the cockpit? Or can that be turned off with the new options?

I'm with you, I only map/bind functions to my HOTAS that are bound to the real HOTAS from the NATOPS flight manuals...the exception being the F-15C, since it's a FC3 module. Otherwise the only additional things I bind are opening/closing the kneeboard (since for some unknown reason there isn't a pilot body in every module with the knee board shown on their legs) and paging up or down on the kneeboard. All else is limited to the real thing. I guess I will need to try leaving the controllers in my lap and give using them more of a shot...

I am so lost on how to best use Oculus controllers in conjunction with a HOTAS? How is it any different than the inconvenience of having to take your hand off either the stick or the throttle to find the mouse to use it?
