  1. Hoping someone from ED could take a look at my logs (attached) as I've tried everything over the last week or more and can't figure my performance issues out :( I went from a pretty consistent 45FPS (VR) in 2.5 OB to out of nowhere being pegged to ~23-25FPS almost always in MP...and this is pretty much independent of me changing Shadow, MSAA, etc settings lower and lower. Really odd. I run SP fine, with the exception of missions that have a lot of units in them. Can you please take a look and see if anything looks "off"? This is driving me mad. I've went as far as reinstalling DCS with no effect, I've cleaned and repaired with no effect, I've disabled all mods with no effect, I've deleted the fxo and metashaders numerous times with no effect, and tried a million other "tricks" people found...and nothing. People with much worse rigs than mine are running at much better performance. I don't really have crashes. I've included the Log file, I tried to include the latest ZIP (dated 3/24 so I am guessing this was from my last crash?) but it keeps saying it fails due to a missing security token?

Would love to see a NATO trainer in DCS (I currently enjoy the L-39 here and there), especially a Navy trainer. If we couldn't get a Goshawk, a Buckeye would be great!

  5. You can't zoom in near as far as non-VR zoom, though. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  6. Thanks, sir! I'll have to give this a try. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Realistic head position in cockpit (where I can still see the HUD properly)? VR Can you post (or PM me) your .lua code for the cockpit view for your A-10C? I'll paste that in to mine and give it a shot. I've been shifting camera points around for years, very well aware of how to do it...my point is exactly what Skate posted above, the starting point begins so far forward that by the time you get it far enough back, things start to get weird. 10. When I reach for a MFD in my simpit, it should be where the MFD appears in my VR headset. When I reach for the stick in my simpit, it should be where the stick appears in my VR headset. When I reach for the throttle in my simpit, it should be where the throttle appears in my VR headset. I'm in VR, I shouldn't have to use the camera position keys to slide my head back while I'm flying... I've built my simpit this way for a reason, to "feel" as real as possible...it increases immersion. Having a cockpit camera position that has my face hugged up to the HUD might be great for some, but it's not great for me...nor will it ever be. It should be fixed to work properly like the Harrier's.
  11. The default head position can easily be changed, yes, but no matter movements you make with that you're never able to sit back far enough/high enough and still see the HUD properly (in terms of positioning and scale). I have a center mounted stick with a throttle mounted to my left, in true-to-life measurements and positioning...and sitting from my chair, the virtual world can never be mirrored to match this 1:1 (as it easily can be in the Harrier or Flanker). That is what my original question was -- how to achieve this -- and the reason for this thread...and it appears the answer is "It can't be done currently".
  12. Realistic head position in cockpit (where I can still see the HUD properly)? VR Thanks for the suggestions guys, I might tinker with the lua for a few minutes. If I don't make any quick progress I'm just going to put the A-10 back on the shelf and circle back to learn it another time...once the VR cockpit view issue is resolved. I've done this same cycle before of trying to get the cockpit view to feel right, getting tired of spinning my wheels, and going back to other modules. It's so odd to me that the current "flagship module" wouldn't already be corrected for this, when many other planes have been. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Aircraft contrails have blue colour texture bug FWIW, if this is a new report from ED's perspective, I have had this since 2.5 OB began. Seems like maybe not everyone has this? I've just always assumed it was a known bug, even though I've never seen a report of that here. Good call to report, Mustang. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  14. Appreciate the suggestion. I did all of that, moved the seat up and down (which helped but made the view of where I was sitting within the cockpit weird...i.e. like I had a 6 inch torso sitting on the seat). No matter what combination I tried it's impossible to get the view to a realistic point (looking out of the cockpit through the HUD), where you're also sitting in the cockpit in a realistic position. I'm assuming this is just a known/common issue that's not been fixed? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Can someone please, please, pleaaaase help me to achieve a realistic head position/camera view, where I can still see the HUD properly? When I move the default camera back far enough, I can't see the HUD properly. When I then move my head up or down, it's like I have a 12 inch torso and the stick/grip is at my neck level. What the hell is wrong with the cockpit view?! :joystick: The Harrier does this perfectly, the Warthog is by far the worst I've seen (I don't own every module) I am in VR, if that is useful to know..so no TrackIR lean back and set the head position voodoo, please. Please help, if you can. Thank you kindly in advance
  16. Sit/lean forward, then turn/rotate around. If you can't accomplish that, work on gaining some of the flexibility your body should have back.
  17. I run both together, and I do so in VR with a boosted PD and the DCS preset "High" settings plus I turn AF up to 8x and move the sliders to the right :music_whistling:

  21. Sounds like a great way to induce motion sickness.
  22. Also confirmed/discussed by Sith here in the top comment:
  23. Yeah, the trackpads really are great IMO. The main reason I want them desk mounted is because it feels much more realistic when flying in VR...i.e. I have to reach forward in front of me to operate anything on the cockpit dash. I look at what I want to interact with (lets say my left MFD) and that initially focuses my cursor roughly in that direction, from there I simply reach forward exactly where my virtual MFD is (left or right, since I have two trackpads in those same positions) and my trackpad is right there...I use my finger to refine the cursor position a bit, and click to operate any OSB button on the MFD. For now, I do the same for Master Arm, Master Mode, etc...in the future, the VKB modules to be added on the the TECS will take care of that for me. I can use either my right or left trackpad to otherate the UFC, depending which is more convenient...granted my hands aren't interacting 1:1 with the virtual positioning like the MFD's, but it's only a small variation. For any right console interaction, I just use my traditional mouse which is on the "L-shape" extension of my desk to my right. For the left, essentially everything I use is bound already to my throttle switches. Outside of hand tracking that will (hopefully) come in the future, this is about as "realistic" as I can practically get it for the time being.
  24. Honestly, I find their launch pricing to be seriously laughable. Gen 2 pricing (or even higher?) for Gen 1.5 hardware. Great strategy (/s) and a surefire way to fall flat on their faces. Hold tight and prices will fall quickly, at least I would imagine so at HTC realizes they need to start chasing profit to break even.
