This is more a case of a culture developed from a lot of people, and limited resources. To help others, in a lot of situations, means to not have for yourself or your family. Me and a colleague were talking about this the other week when I was in China, about how they have no concept of lines (queues for some). And then this happened right after, and he explained how it stems from the same attitude. They have been to be so concerned about themselves, not only to survive, but to also distinguish themselves.

Yeah except it was across multiple systems, as had been explained to you multiple times. And most of the people helping him, would out qualify most 'very good PC technicians'. Regardless of what you want to believe, the support was that good. None better. It was even tried on a system, that had a Cougar installed and working on it previously. Quite clearly a failure of the product. Clear to anyone with enough sense. But hey, all fan boys need their excuses, other wise they couldnt justify to themselves to continue being fanboys.

How much more tricky can it be, than install software, plug in? If its any more tricky than that, its a failure of a product. Besides a software engineer to write a custom driver, not sure you could get better support than Cali had. Luckily, I have not had a problem getting mine installed. Plenty with the damn PCB in the throttle failing. I hear flying the BS, and helo's in general, can be a pain with the FFB.

You set the power settings to high performance, maybe check that the USB option in there does not power down the ports either. I remember this being an issue, even for desktops, with TIR.

Some Steam games have problems keeping up to date. Go into the options to turn updating off, and then download and install the patches as you would normally.

I did contact ED, as regardless the purchase should show up on their site. Deleting the registry key worked to activate though. In one of the FPS threads someone wrote a command winsat formal -restart clean. I think this may have been the source of the problem.

So I have been playing since it came out;. All of a sudden yesterday I get prompted to re-activate, but it wont take my activation key, says there is an integrity problem. I tried logging into the ED site, and it no longer shows my purchase there to confirm the activation key. Also can not deactivate. This is for DCS A10C, and DCS BS.

There is also inflight alignment. So unless your target is super I use that.

Only under certain conditions though. If I start A10C with the TIR in pause mode, then when the game launches the blue light is not on and does not work in the cockpit. I have to start with TIR unpaused or it wont work. Now if I alt-tab to the TIR software, its working just fine. I have reinstalled both, same issue though. Its rather minor, but I prefer to startup with TIR paused and manually pan around. So sometimes I forget, get it all started and aligned... and find TIR is not working. :doh: EDIT - And when a mod sees this, can you move it to the A10 forum.... not sure why I ended up here.

Actually it is. Heat = IR. :thumbup: Regardless, not sure what some of you expect. Modeling an accurate FLIR system would be pretty difficult. I think they are just using a separate texture set. IRL it depends on the system and level of technology. When I used the thermal site on the TOW system, it was at times very difficult to spot a vehicle in the trees. Trees can hold a lot of heat.

They seriously need to think about integrating a VOIP solution. Although we must realize what they have said for many years. The online community is only a fraction of sales. The A2G platforms IMO are much better for single player campaigns.
