  1. *cough*ten minutes*cough*
  2. ten mins really is a bit overboard if we want those ten mins accessible for later analysis, you've gotta park your jet (denying its use for someone else) for those ten miserable mins, and remember come back and turn off your computer... : /
  3. the fix is to grab the file from your 1.5 installation and copy it to your OpenAlpha install ----- but i don't have p-51 installed to 1.5.6 would someone upload theirs? attach it to a message here - or upload to dropbox etc?
  4. that's right - the next best thing is to make a "best guess" assume larger more powerful a/c have stronger ECM systems - modern a/c will (should?) have better performance vs older a/c - also there should be differences between a/c with respect to coverage arcs (azimuth/elev where ECM/ESM is effective) - etc ----- make guesstimates - there will always be room for debate - but no one who knows anything for sure will say anything about it so its all just speculation anyway would be a better system than we have right now
  5. i'll be happy when we go down to only one install - save some space on my SSD!
  6. i think it would be cool to have *some* differentiation in capabilities ------ look, ED is big on simulating things down to the gnats a55 and only building modules they have docs on that's not going to happen in the EW world - so on some level they just wing it - they wave their hands... the question is.. where do you draw the line i get what you're saying eihort about complexity - but where its at now is too generic - i think they could go a little bit further larger a/c and newer a/c should have more effective ECM - older and less powerful a/c should have less capable systems instead of just noise jamming, yeah they should try to add in a couple/few more types of jammers yes, as you add modules you add complexity - it becomes MxN i think it would make it interesting - it would make it more entertaining i think they should try again, at *some* level they have to acknowledge some level of reality - and on *some* level they have to wave their hands they're already "making up" capabilities and limitations - lets work on that a little bit - lets bring the EW of sim up to some level competence
  7. started a night mission in L-39C - turned on the flashlight, looked around (normal expected behavior) - re-centered TrackIR, now flashlight doesn't follow where i'm looking seems like you lose the YAW and (maybe) PITCH axis - seems like X and Y axis tracking is retained after centering T-IR view see my video...
  8. good idea (alternatively.. an AI a/c should just RTB to the airfield it launched from)
  9. hmm.. alright --- i'll be aware of that in the future thx
  10. that probably explains a lot... : / also.. i'll have a random starforce failure every once in a while with a random module - for example just today it was the p-51, but recently i've seen one of my german prop planes pop up, the f-86, etc from time to time...
  11. @wader8 -- any accommodation for the wind??
  12. after landing, as the eagle is taxiing, the ramps are "up" i believe they should be down ----- they should be fully down on approach, then at weight-on-wheels they should then be commanded to remain fully down that's my understanding -- also, in MP outside observers see ramps "up" - but the player sees his own ramps down (if i recall correctly)
  13. tomcat pilot explains...
  14. yes ----- i have an SSD still takes a long time
  15. this is a little "niggle" that has bugged me for a while but i never took the energy to bring up... the splash screen that appears when you run DCS seems to take a long time to appear - makes me wonder if i actually made a good double-click, if i actually ran DCS.. so sometimes i'll click it a second time, only to get the window that pops up that says only one instance is allowed idunno - is there any way to make it come up quicker??
  16. finally! yeah - i just had to add that code it works as intended... thank you
  17. "only 9.8MB....." whippersnappers... : )
  18. interesting ----- will try... thx
  19. like i said, in the eagle i just turn around and i'm looking around the side of the seat through the vertical tails - no "shifting" in my seat is required having to consciously "shift" to the side robs from the experience - you end up turning around instinctively, seeing the damn seat, and having to re-do it right this time - you don't do that in real life, cmon! thx firmek - will try it
  20. when i turn all the way around to look back, i see the headrest - if i want to see behind the aircraft, i have to first lean that direction, then turn all the way around - and i can see past the wing checking six works fine in the eagle (the only other a/c i fly) anyone got any tips? i'm aware of this thread... https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=96116 the solution is probably going to be in the server.lua file - not sure what could be going wrong here.......
  21. yes - trouble with online briefings here as well is this a known issue?
