  1. Yeah.. where did they ever say they were going to address guidance?
  2. good idea though........
  3. would be nice if they fix the "lock all players" bug while they're at it.... (ie.. if a SAM locks someone, all players on that side get the lock indication through RWR)
  4. damn fri13.. he showed you!lol
  5. i'm using an SSD and i get stutters : /
  6. one other thing.. being zoomed way out so you see the whole canopy bow and instrument panel may seem nice and "look" good to you, but you're not helping yourself to actually see small jets out there - once you're within ten miles, you NEED to be tally, and when you're all zoomed out like that, everything gets smaller - everything that's already small and hard to see , you're making even smaller and even harder to see! (some of y'all better keep your pants on!lol) here's the default view i use.. https://youtu.be/7IOStqsB4e0 in that vid i'm demonstrating "dotwars" where you see objects (ALL objects - parachutes, droptanks, missiles, and aircraft - fighters and tankers alike) at 37nm - something i find incredibly annoying and strikingly unrealistic ------ that was in 1.5.7 -- today i was in 2.1.whatever-is-the-latest and it seemed like i was getting the dot at 32nm but my overall point is.. you can actually SEE things (dangerous things - things that want to kill virtual-you) if you have a decent default view i don't have no mercy for yo narra whi' arse if you wanna be super zoomed out and then you whine that can't see a jet at 8miles...
  7. guys guys guys...... this is not rocket science first, pause your trackir then, RCTRL+RSHIFT + NumPad / and NumPad * (forward slash and asterick) and then NP / and NP * (alone - un-shifted etc) just play with those and make the view the way you like it then - when you're all set... RALT NumPad 0 "saves" that view as your default view (( until DCS decides it isn't - then you have to do it all over again, thus my post.... https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=190591 ))
  8. yep - those lights are for the heavies --- everybody's thinking too hard about this - just fly formation on the tanker
  9. never got to actually fly jets but i got a few chances to fly around for a while in full mission f-16 (once) and f-18 (twice) simulators ---- pretty cool
  10. +1
  11. IFF should be standardized across DCS - if it is automatic in the aircraft, it should be automatic in the sim - if you've got to actively initiate an IFF query in the aircraft, DCS should model it
  12. yes - exactly i usually have to disconnect from the server - and then rejoin oh! another detail ----- if the sim starts in PAUSED mode, if you exit and re-connect, you will not be visible to the other players once the sim is unpaused so.. when my view is screwed up, i have to ask whoever's hosting it to pause and unpause really fast, then i'll disconnect and reconnect and see if the view is fixed sometimes it works right away, sometimes it takes a few tries, and sometimes................... it takes like HALF A DOZEN TRIES to get a normal view system : (
  13. please refer to my initial post - i know that procedure and do it regularly as needed my point is with this (possible? probable?) bug is that the recenter view function does not reset/recenter the view like you expect **also** when this glitch occurs, i cannot PAUSE track-ir, and move either head position or zoom amount (one of those - i can't recall which right now) ---- the key command is right-shift right-command numpad / and numpad * tl:dr --- when this bug occurs (and it happens after you click "fly") reset/recenter view doesn't take effect, nor are RT-SH + RT-CNTR numpad / and * effective
  14. one of the most important questions in DCS
  15. *OPTIONS* they need to build in to DCS the ability for the server to choose visibility settings want to see missiles and drop tanks from ten miles? check that box want aircraft difficult to see at three miles?? check THAT box
  16. absolutely not real world you look right past it and you don't "actively perceive" it 100% of the time - in the sim, the "scratches" are actively inhibiting comprehending what you're seeing in a way that is exponentially worse than in the real world it was a good idea, good to try, to see if it adds or detracts - it definitely detracts i'm happy to see it gone
  17. i am absolutely ONE HUNDRED PERCENT *FINE* with no cockpit textures - was very distracting and annoying - good riddance - never come back!!
  18. (man! i hope we get good strake vorts like we see in that vid!) : )
  19. that artificial expansion looks really... "weird" to me doesn't work
