  6. my understanding is the centerline station was never cleared for carrier landings with ordnance - just drop tanks
  7. i set up a mission where an AI spawns behind 2x client a/c the AI always and only targets the second a/c when i made the mission, i placed one aircraft in the map, configured it with ordnance/fuel/etc, then CTRL-C copied it so i have two equal client a/c AI will only attack the second a/c could you make it so that it is random? or the AI selects the nearest? or (getting advanced) fires on BOTH! or... attacks one then switches/blows through to second or........ the MiG29 does not "spike" us, it only uses EO system to target us and then fires its R-77 at us (1 ea on both of us) lots of options available thanks! : )
  8. that may be true but the point is....... make the sim work as it is supposed to - consistent across the maps would be nice to not have to take your hands off the HOTAS to start the sim ------ no mouse, no keyboard - pause/break mapped to the HOTAS center TrackIR >> "go!" pause/break works in Caucasus without "clicking in" to the sim, i think that's how its supposed to work in NTTR - maybe we can make that happen?

[[ mods... oops! feel free to move this to "2.5 bugs and problems" if you want - my apologies ]] its great having all three maps in one version! i noticed a difference between NTTR and Caucasus in NTTR the "focus" is not on the game (you can see the windows taskbar down below) therefore, if you click PAUSE/BREAK with the keyboard as it says (and i've got that mapped to my HOTAS so i can be, wait for it.... hands-on-throttle-and-stick) it doesn't actually start the sim ---- you have to CLICK with the mouse in the sim, the taskbar disappears as focus is now changed to the sim, then pause/break works in the Caucasus map, it works as advertised... see? no taskbar pause/break immediately starts the sim can we fix the NTTR map so "focus" is on the sim at mission start?? thx! : )

  11. if you've got 2.2, wait for 2.5 stable ---- upgrade that will be the most *efficient* upgrade process because 2.5 uses files from 2.2 (therefore, smaller download)

FC3 is a concession to the time when that was the best that could be done - we've moved the bar now, it is higher - we should strive to bring all aircraft to both PFM and highest systems modeling - DCS should be the standard for flight simulation if you want a "game mode" fine - but I would rather not --- to accommodate everyone's taste/preference, it would be nice to have options to specify a server that is "hard core only" (ie.. no FC3 level a/c allowed) as well as "mixed," as well as "FC3 only" if that's what people want

  15. does that "salvo mode" work?? not that there's any need for it... all missiles work 100% of the time (no failures) and one missile hit = kill (don't need >1 hit to bring down an a/c) also.. why expend all your missiles when defeating one will defeat them all
  16. ha! it works! "THAAANK YOU!" you have NO IDEA how many hours i've been futzing around with this (hint: too many) for future reference.. here is the mission that works
  17. good guidance note - be sure the gear are up before 250kts or you'll "over-speed" the gear : ) not mandatory by any means, but some ppl do the following... - release brakes, throttle to MILPOWER (non-afterburner), as the jet accelerates through 50kts, advance throttle to MAX (full afterburner) - proceed as described above - at 250kts come out of burner - throttle back to MIL - "pitch for 300" -- raise the nose in MIL POWER and vary pitch to maintain 300kts (most efficient angle of climb in MIL PWR --- 350kts for MAX(AB))
  18. lil help please? here's my mission file attempting to follow this site's guidance - its good, but its not the kind of help i need, apparently they describe the logic in terms of algorithms, which i understand why comp-sci guys would do that, but i need to learn HOW to do this specifically in DCS, using these odd DCS trigger windows i've put two bandit AIs in the mission, i only want one to spawn (eventually i want to expand the total number of possible bandit AI up to five or ten or.. "more") i've tried all kinds of combinations of ONCE and MISSION START etc etc - and nothing has worked so far - both AIs always spawn : / there's something probably super obvious i'm totally missing - if anyone can help me make this happen, big "thx" to you
