I really enjoyed reading this: http://www.f-16.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=27709

He is just trying to keep his formation with you and does not assume that you are landing. Normally after the mission you should tell him to RTB so he will not follow you and land independently. Formation landing is not supported I think.
-
All these points are important but the most important thing is that the carrier should be moving towards the wind. That way you will get A LOT of lift.
-
If you just fly enough time, even your munitions are depleted the enemy boats will get close to your carrier and they will die so you still win the mission.
-
Ask your wingman to attack naval targets via comms menu. Fly long enough and they will be killed by your fleet's ships. Finally you will get success message so you can rtb and land on the Kuznetsov.

I could not remember the mission by its name. Can you describe it what kind of objectives there was?

Canards still moving after engine shutdown - bug?
Terzi replied to rrohde's topic in Su-33 for DCS World
Also one thing I noticed: When you are flying 800-1000km/h (depending on payload) at some point canards move significantly up, behaving like you trimmed the aircraft elevators nose up. Then you go put the throttle back and when you slow down they come back. It seems there is a speed threshold for canards for high speeds. I am not sure if this is made intentionally or is it a bug? -
That's the most difficult one. I also tried ~10 times. The F-16s come as 2 times 2 ships totalling 4. Let your wingman engage first by giving orders from radio. R-27ER is no match for AIM-120B so don't be hero. Fire and turn back. Make their AIM-120s wasted, each one has 2 AIM-120s. After that, still do not go in 1v1 head on. You may kill him but he will kill you too with AIM-9M. Try to catch them off-guard. Attack from sides or behind. If you can't get a good flank, then escape and turn back. After you take 2 of them, feel free to engage other aircraft flying on the coast while you wait other 2 F-16s. Don't go into the land. The remaining 2 F-16s will come towards the sea and try the same tactics. When you RTB it will be totally dark so land carefully and switch on the landing lights. I crashed once to the carrier and had to redo the mission.

Hello, I have just finished Sea Dragon campaign for SU-33. It was so much fun in DCS 2.5. However there is one thing I would like to mention and this certainly needs to be fixed. After landing on the carrier, if you start to taxi the aircraft, it requires more power than necessary although the cable is already gone and hook is up. After you park it to somewhere, sometimes the aircraft keeps drifting although the breaks are applied.

During Low Flight, Ground Objects' Position Updates in Steps
Terzi replied to Terzi's topic in 2D Video Bugs
Wow enabling VSYNC solved the problem. Thanks! I don't know exactly what VSYNC does. I always thought that it was just for waiting a frame to complete to update monitor screen and locks frame and monitor rate. -
During Low Flight, Ground Objects' Position Updates in Steps
Terzi replied to Terzi's topic in 2D Video Bugs
By the way I forgot to say that I have very good FPS, the visual update steps have nothing to do with in-game FPS. -
When you are flying low in the cockpit view if you look to your 2 o'clock or 10 o'clock, the ground position seems to update itself 5-6 times per second. You see a tree and after ~0.2 seconds, it moves and it stays there for another 0.2 seconds and so on. It might be hard to notice but it is noticeable. Things seem to move like tick-tick-tick in steps. I tested this both in VR and in monitor. I am running GTX1070.

I think there is no point in discussing which one is better, the F-16 or the F-18. If any of them is better than the other, it is just a little bit better and that does not really matter.

I have been carefully going through the forum and searching for news related to F-16 DCS module and its status. All what I saw was full of speculations made by forum users. So here I would like to ask my question to the DCS managers/developers. What is the situation about F-16? Is it under development? Are the legal constraints preventing you? Is it not even considered to be made? Are there other priorities first? Do we expect an F-16 or not? I am looking for any simple answer from the officials.

On FB video it says 2.5 openbeta will be released on 31.01. I wonder, is the stable version is coming on that day too?

Is the Saitek X56 really that bad?
Terzi replied to Vampyr's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
My X-55 broke down about a month ago. I am a hardware designer so I know electronics. I disabled few buttons and fixed the main problem. But I noticed that they used very low quality cables inside. Cables are worth almost nothing but still I don't know why they used such squishy cables. Overall I can say that material quality inside it was not good from what I saw. From outside it looks good. If I was to buy a HOTAS now I would wait for new Thrustmaster F-18 stick, or buy Thrustmaster Warthog. -
Please also consider that they make very high quality product, but it does not sell as much as GTA 5 so they have to compensate their resources. I believe that sims are for smart people ONLY so it does not sell in huge numbers. They pay tax, they pay people, they pay for research, travel, hardware etc. I think it is justified. You can wait ~1 year for 60% discount that's the best case I guess.

Yes this has helped a lot. I was trying both methods but I was not applying full ailerons towards the wind. When I was aligning the jet it was drifting and as soon as apply rudder it rolled and crashed. Now after 3-4 tries I made it safely. Applying ailerons is necessary but very dangerous. Apply too soon or too much; you will roll other way. Correct perception and action depends on effectiveness of flight controls as you mentioned. Deciding "how much" and "when" is really a big challenge. Also vertical speed is very important. When it is greater than 1m/s one wheel will jump and lead to uncontrolled flight. Because it always lands on a single wheel first.

Hello, I can't land this bird properly when there is 12m/s or more crosswind. Everytime after touchdown it rolls and wingtip hits the ground when I try to keep it on the runway. Any hints? Deploying chute results even worse... I couldn't see any helpful video on Youtube too. Helps appriciated. Here I attach my landing mission. Land to Nellis 030 with 12m/s wind direction 330. su-27.miz

I apologize I couldn't make it on time..

Something is unclear to me. Is it like "kill everyone you see", or we have teammates? If we have friendlies how to identify?
