Lately I had struggle with the time settings in the mission editor. The thing was, I added an aircraft and set the takeoff time. Then modified the mission time (which was hard to find how to do that), and add a second aircraft. When we go in the mission one aircraft was spawning and the other did not. This was because of a time shift after the mission time modification. However, that is not the point. The main problem I try to express here is that, time settings are not so obvious in mission editor (especially if you are a newcomer to DCS). Time settings is just one example. Please re-evaluate the mission editor's usage, to make it easier to grasp for new starters. For most of us here on the forum, the mission editor is good and it provides all settings that we need. But from an outsider's eye; this is quite complicated regarding to their feedback. I am writing these based on my experiences while I am introducing the DCS World (especially the F-16C) to new people. Maybe in future when you complete the Dynamic Campaign, or publish DCS 3, you may want to re-write the mission editor from scratch by following certain Human Interface Guidelines. Maybe to best thing to identify the problems by making a survey with people who are yet unfamiliar with DCS. Ask their opinion, where do they get stuck, let them experiment with mission editor and identify their needs etc.

I remember that I bought this from a gaming shop in Andel, Prague in 2008 :)

Hello all, I would like to share this valueable resource: https://github.com/rlabbe/Kalman-and-Bayesian-Filters-in-Python pdf here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0By_SW19c1BfhSVFzNHc0SjduNzg In case the developers and coders would like to study more about estimation techniques and advanced Kalman filters.

In real F-5 landings, the plane is kept on rear wheels for a while for aero-braking. In DCS, no matter how soft you land, how fast or how slow you land, after the main gear touches, the nose wheel "wants to" reach to ground immediately. I am not sure about the FM, but this needs a fix. Currently after the touchdown you need to add some pitch with your stick to keep the nose up, and usually this leads to small oscillation.

I have found this in my parents' house :) Wanted to share with you guys who remember Lock On 1.3

Hello, I tried the Free Flight mission. And followed the AI F-16 in front of me until he intends to land. Then near the runway he starts to manuever ~600 knots gear down, being unable to land; he was going around multiple times. Possibly he could never align himself with the runway due to high speed and greater circles that he made.

Cycle through highlighted selections in Comms menu
Terzi replied to Terzi's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Yes but I have an extra xbox controller that I would like to place on my lap for radio tuning, comms menu and many other things that do not fit on hotas. With xbox controller, muscle memory works better than a keyboard. Imagine your controller is on your left hand and you open the comms menu with a button on it, then navigate to whatever you like, and choose the appropriate option. Extra things like landing gear, AAR door, taxi lights, master arm etc. can be also there. -
Cycle through highlighted selections in Comms menu

Thanks for the support. I am having difficult times to find the correct F(X) key while using VR. -
[NEED INFO] White stripes in altimeter - Oculus Rift
Terzi replied to Terzi's topic in Bugs and Problems
Here: I noticed that you can see through gauge numbers. When the sun comes from left, you feel like it is just a white stripe which mixes the numbers up. -
It would be very nice if the user can do these in Comms menu with a hat switch: Up: Move to upper choice Down: Move to lower choice Right: Select the highlighted option Left: Go back to previous menu
-
In VR, white stripes appear in numerical altimeter reading and pressure setting boxes; making it impossible to read the values.

Amraam should launch after 0.5s of button press.

Is there any pictures of the Viper armed with rockets? I never saw any so far.

If I had known this before, I wouldn't buy it from Steam. If I were in ED's shoes I wouldn't make a deal with Steam, at least not for now. Only certain people who like flight sims will play DCS and it will never be sold like GTAV or Arma3 in its current context. And those certain people will play DCS no matter you sell it on Steam or not. 30% is really too much.

Ah okay then, it was my mistake. I didn't know that since F10 map shows that channel, I tried to tune.

Yesterday night I tried to fly some F-5 in Caucaus just for fun and tried to navigate only by instruments. TACAN did not work at all for Maykop 34X. I have also tried ADF navigation to some other NDBs. Nothing worked... I checked tutorials again, I couldn't be failing to tune the aircraft because in past I used both TACAN and ADF a lot in F5. I do not know why devs do not solve this issue which is ongoing for so long time. I think it is a very critical issue.

I tried the stock mission about CCIP bombing. The MK-82s and 83s impact right on target but MK-20s always cover the area that is in front of the target. Let's say there is a vehicle on the CCIP mark exactly and you press pickle. The bomb will spread ~100-200 feet before the vehicle. The coverage area should be centered around the point where you press pickle. I tried this many times. My DCS is updated to latest openbeta.

I flew it long time ago but it was really fun. You need to study and learn whole red flag process. The downside is that you repeat the same thing in every mission against different aircraft. Both BFM and ACM campaigns for F-5E are pretty much same scenario. Fly from Nellis, navigate the way, go fighting, and RTB. Very well prepared but repeating.. So I flew 5-6 times and then quit.

That's good to hear. I didn't know that sorry for opening the thread.. But the documentary is quite interesting because it is claimed that the latest Tor is capable of engaging the mavericks and bombs as well.
-
Since AGM-88 is coming with the F/A-18C, I would like to note that in this documentary it is mentioned that Tor can engage HARM missiles. It would be nice to keep that in mind while modeling the HARM, and maybe update the Tor as necessary.

Nozzle visual bug: Damage visual bug: (From the hole you can see the other side)

While guns selected, there is no aimpoint. While missile is selected the aimpoint is behind the airplane. Missiles are always missing the target. Even the enemy aircraft does not use flares, it fails to track. I read all comments but nothing works with Tunguska. I know how to use missiles and guns in CA but this SA-19 Tunguska definitely has some bug.

I lowered my axis curve from 33 (which is same for almost all DCS aircraft) to 15. Now I feel more comfortable, but doing small corrections now became difficult. Especially roll adjustments. I will try setting pitch curve 15 and keep the roll at 33.

Mig-29 updated cockpit looks weird
Terzi replied to Ala12Rv-watermanpc's topic in MiG-29 for DCS World
Some gauges look 2D in VR. Definitely something is wrong. -
I was flying MiG-29S. Fuel was lower than 1000 and I was about 17800 meters cruising about 700km/h IAS. Then I tried to pull nose a bit hardly and the nose of the aircraft pointed up for a moment, and then went back down and started to oscillate so badly. I couldn't control, but let the aircraft lose some altitude and wait for the nose to point to the ground. Maybe this behavior needs some fixing. Edit: This is after the flight model update came on 10.10.2018
