Nothing. I just wish that ED finishes the TONs of undone work, before putting another product on sale, and provides core improvements such as in game comms, dynamic campaign and dedicated server.

This weekend I was watching the previous matches. What a great game on 17.08.2019! 51st vs Chinese Fest. and TAW vs 104. Great games and keep up the good work SATAL team!

Yes, my bad. They are slightly different in fuselage as well.

See 2:10 in this video: The Turkish F-5s are upgraded with F-16 avionics. They can drop CCIP-CCRP etc. They also have the same ICP panel with F-16. They can launch AMRAAMs and other fancy weapons with improved radar. You can think of them as F-16s in a different airframe. Brazilian versions are even more modern from what I saw here. This is just too complicated inheritance and upgrade story.. Maybe after ED has no more planes or maps to model in 2040s, they will offer upgrade packs for our F-5s :)

I saw block 50s many times. This might be because of possible engine or fuel difference, or visual perception or the way we put it in words. But checking some videos now I saw this: It might be so that the camera vision sensor captures it differently than our eyes. But my experience was exacly looking like this. After lift off, they fly level until 300+ and pull back for a nice climb. Also the brownish color and the smell of exhaust (not so pleasant) :)

I have been reading a lot about this airplane recently. It is really great, interesting and modern airplane. Deka is doing extremely well with the simulation as far as I see. I really wish you success guys and I'm waiting this module. RWR has impressed me a lot.

A single airplane that crashes without firing a single bullet :megalol: This DLC is also free.

It is mainly air to air, with limited AG capabilities. It was mainly designed to be extremely fast and high altitude interceptor/fighter instead of a bomber. The successor MiG-27 was having more AG capabilities and better cockpit visibility with drawbacks in performance. Detailed info: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mikoyan-Gurevich_MiG-23

Can I put certain assets to appear based on probabilities?
Terzi replied to Terzi's topic in Mission Editor
This was very helpful, exactly what I was wondering. Thanks for the information. Cheers! -
I was wondering if it is possible to place an enemy fighter departure (let's say 4 MiG-29s) 40 minutes after I takeoff (or start hitting some assets in the area) with a probability of 30%. Is the similar thing can be applied to enemy SAM sites? Or any other asset in general. Maybe even more advanced than that, there would be a Gaussian distribution around some time, for an enemy to appear. Let's say that it is expected to appear around 13:00, but it can appear at 12:30 with a probability of 10%, at 12:35 this is 13%, and this probability becomes 90% when it is 13:30. This would add much more excitement to the missions.

Very good video indeed! I enjoyed every moment in this

The new free map will be released on 1st of April 2020. It will cover some unknown part of the Indian Ocean without any sort of land :) Anyways back to the topic, those areas recently mentioned would be really nice but I highly doubt that they would be free. My bet is somewhere around Belarus or Southern Baltic countries.

This is the reason why I stopped flying the F-16 for nowadays. I don't want to let the incomplete flight model to change my feelings about the aircraft. I understood this very well, after I tried few overhead pattern landings and simple maneuvers. For me the FM is the most import thing in an aircraft because I love physics and science in general. The FM for me is far more important than any weapon, any graphical detail or avionics. I am not complaining, I am just saying this because I am still thankful to ED that they released the Viper too early so we somehow overcome our curiosity. If I am not satisfied with anything, I assume that it is not released yet at all :)
-
By the way, I was curious if ED simulates the bullet speed just with the speed written on the manual (just as it was fired from a static vehicle), or is it the speed of the aircraft + muzzle velocity. It should be the aircraft speed + the muzzle velocity. After firing, the trajectory and air resistances should be calculated accordingly.

Similar thing happens with F-5E. You can catch the bullets.

When there is a sunlight, especially around noon, the AB is barely visible after the nozzle. of course looking from behind the nozzle one can see the bright yellow burning. During nighttime yes it is as long a the jet itself and its blueish :) I was impressed by the F-14s AB effects when looked from behind inside the nozzle. There were variations and mixtures of flames instead of static gradual pictures. Also the transitions are well done while going between full AB and mil.

From the Russian government point of view, it does not matter who is doing the work. It is a matter of who is selling the product or making it available to public, and who they can place charges on. No one can prove that the work actually was made here or there. As for MiG-23 etc. they are already out of service so there wouldn't be any problem modeling it. You can go to museums and investigate it, there is nothing secret or interesting regarding to today's standards. But about F-22 or SU-35 or SU-57 lots of things are classified and protected. You cannot even find a picture of the cockpit via Google search, let alone the manuals.

Yes exactly! Thanks! But another question troubles my mind now :) what does it mean to do something between block 1 and block 2 :) you either do block 1 or 2, not something fictional in between those.
-
I was reading through this thread and I do not see any confirmation from the 3rd party developers whether its Block 1 or 2. Can you developers please confirm which one?

I think the F-16 flight model will be updated seriously. One of my thoughts is that during vertical maneuvers the flight path marker tends to follow the nose too rapidly. I mean, the FPM wants to stick to the nose of the aircraft all the time. In viper videos from real life, you can see that the FPM movement is much more fluid. Take for example the F-15, it is quite planar shaped aircraft so the velocity vector would not deviate from the nose too much during vertical manuevers, which is really the case in DCS. But in Viper the aircraft is narrower and fuselage part does not take much stress during turns. The effect of the main body is less compared to F-15. The F-16 is unstable as hell. This should explain why the FPM (especially in slow speeds) should lag behind the gun cross much more than eg. F-15, Mirage 2000, F-14 and even F-18. I recall watching a video of F-15 that lands without a wing. This is mainly because the aircraft as a whole is so planar and the fuselage is acting as a huge kite. The fuselage of the Viper is similar to a pipe structure instead of a planar structure.

Oh I did not know that. Thanks for pointing out. I could see that lots of things were put on the table there. Good to know updates are considered and user feedback is taken.

I see that the PL-15 is not listed in the first page of this thread. Any reason why? According to the Wikipedia, JF-17 is listed as one of the lauch platforms of PL-15. ps: Sorry if this quesiton was asked before.

Lately I had struggle with the time settings in the mission editor. The thing was, I added an aircraft and set the takeoff time. Then modified the mission time (which was hard to find how to do that), and add a second aircraft. When we go in the mission one aircraft was spawning and the other did not. This was because of a time shift after the mission time modification. However, that is not the point. The main problem I try to express here is that, time settings are not so obvious in mission editor (especially if you are a newcomer to DCS). Time settings is just one example. Please re-evaluate the mission editor's usage, to make it easier to grasp for new starters. For most of us here on the forum, the mission editor is good and it provides all settings that we need. But from an outsider's eye; this is quite complicated regarding to their feedback. I am writing these based on my experiences while I am introducing the DCS World (especially the F-16C) to new people. Maybe in future when you complete the Dynamic Campaign, or publish DCS 3, you may want to re-write the mission editor from scratch by following certain Human Interface Guidelines. Maybe to best thing to identify the problems by making a survey with people who are yet unfamiliar with DCS. Ask their opinion, where do they get stuck, let them experiment with mission editor and identify their needs etc.

I remember that I bought this from a gaming shop in Andel, Prague in 2008 :)

Hello all, I would like to share this valueable resource: https://github.com/rlabbe/Kalman-and-Bayesian-Filters-in-Python pdf here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0By_SW19c1BfhSVFzNHc0SjduNzg In case the developers and coders would like to study more about estimation techniques and advanced Kalman filters.
