  1. Welcome! Try out the in-game training or the ones on the eagledcs youtube page (Those are the official ones) You will eventually want to checkout http://www.flankertraining.com/ironhand. These are some excellent tutorials. I have also been making some tutorials to help people out. While they're not nearly as good as Ironhand's, some have found them somewhat helpful, and you may too. Here's my youtube page where you can find them. Many of these tutorials were made in FC1.12, but can still be applied to 2.0. Again, welcome to the world of Lockon! Aero
  2. Yes, yes, I understand this. I'm just curious why the developers didn't make things line up better. Like, the cross in the missile doesn't line up with the 12 o'clock dot and even the stock texture.
  3. I have no idea why the TEWS overlay is twisted like that. Seems it wasn't important enough to address... idk. But that's a nice modification, AS and UWBuRn. Thanks for the support, guys! Aero
  4. Awesome work, Mustang! A note to others, feel free to edit and tweak and re-package my mod as you like, so long as I get some credit. This is what modding is about! Anyway, please check my thread for the VSD update. Aero
  5. UPDATE: F-15 Radar display is done! (Unless someone demands I redo it, for whatever reason...) Ah crap, I forgot a closeup... I'm too tired to go back and take another screenshot, so just try it out for yourselves instead. Aero
  6. Mustang, you are amazing! I'm going to be installing all of this stuff very soon! Aero
  7. I will address these one at a time... Well, I have mixed opinions on weathered looks. I find that it is very easy to go overboard with weathering. Look at all the weathered skins on lockon files and you will notice none of them are very subtle. I, Personally, like a very clean look, as if I was driving a brand new F-15. I find it less distracting and easier to look at, even if it's not as "authentic" (Though, they all started out brand new at some point) Of course, this weathering will require more work. (I'm not complaining, it's just a simple fact.) And I should also mention I do not consider myself to be a true graphic artist. I'm still very much in a state of self-teaching. Everything I do are techniques I have either developed my self or are based off some online tutorials. I have a different method for each part of every cockpit texture. I obviously get better as I go on. You can see this by comparing the HSI (The first gauge I did) to my latest gauges. The difference is significant enough for me to justify going back and fixing the "older' gauges. This will take priority over any weathering I decide to include. I understand this and I will get to it when I'm finished with the VSD and possibly correcting some of my earlier textures. I go to this site a lot for reference pictures. Seems he hasn't updated since December 2009, but I'm sure he's still working on it. That's quite a project. If you do get a response from him that would be awesome and I would love to know what the color of the actual in-cockpit lights are, even though we have reason to believe they are white. Again, thank you all for the support! I really look forward to releasing this as a complete mod in a single package! Aero
  8. Ok, I've been working on the VSD for the past couple nights, a few hours at a time. This is what I have so far: You likes? I figured out a new technique for the twist knobs. Almost makes me want to go back and fix all the other knobs I've done. Aero
  9. Very nice Mustang! Giving people options is always great! I will get to the VSD very soon. Things got quite hectic towards the end of school, but now that's essentially over and I can get beck to working on fun, lockon-related, things. Aero

    Aeroscout!

Thanks so much guys! I really wasn't expecting a shout-out like this! :) Still can't drink (legally) here yet, but I'm going to be having a great night anyway. ;) Thanks again! Aero
  11. I hadn't realized the color of the gauges would be such a point of contention... :glare: I will try to make white-ish lights soon. We'll see how it goes. Unfortunately, I believe this will require a different technique than what I was doing before. Aero
  12. It's awesome to see this coming along!
  13. I big disadvantage to my textures is that you don't get a nice curved aircraft symbol in the ADI, so... I re-did it! Download here: http://download603.mediafire.com/nbng0vjgcflg/monymzknzkn/Aero+ADI+Update.zip Drop the 2 textures in TempTextures as usual. Enjoy! I hope to get back on my feet and working on more stuff soon! Thanks for all the support, guys. It really means a lot! I hope to have my textures converted to TGAs with transparencies soon as well. This should make them look much better too! And of course, a big thanks to DoctorK for all his work! Aero
  14. This is truly excellent! Again, thanks for all your hard work. Making many of these TGA files is really going to make the cockpit look better. Aero
  15. I'm not eactly in the know, but I do know this line created from the 2 different glass plates should be nearly invisible. The glass is beveled to match the angle of the line of sight so that this does not distract the pilot. While this feature reflects the real aircraft, I believe it's a bit much. DoctorK, I was looking through your mod. I take it you modified the F-15 kabina.cmd file. This is to reveal the F-15 speedbrake indicator along with a few other modifications? Aero
  16. DoctorK, I'm really liking the canopy rail, though it could be a bit lighter, imo, but that's just me. Very nice job. I am working on a similar project, focusing mostly on gauges and the functional aspect fo the cockpit. I would love to collaborate with you if that sounds good to you. Send me a PM if you're interested. Again, nice work. I would never have had to courage to tackle the canopy rail texture. Aero
  17. Love it! Where can I get it? EDIT: Never mind. Found it. Didn't look at the attachment. I'm loving it. I don't mind the gray. Actually makes it more realistic, IMO. Also, could you explain what you changed and how to do this in case any of us wish to tweak it in the future? Thanks, and awesome job! Aero
  18. Here's what ED has said: "We will attempt to retain the comparability." Translation: "Probably not." The truth is, DCS A-10C is likely to add a while shitload of new things to DCS which would then have to be implemented in FC2. DCS is intended to be just that, DCS, not exactly a lock on sequel. I think of the lock on compatibility with DCS Blackshark as a bonus. I was really surprised to hear this had been done when info about FC2 was released. I would not count on Compatibility between lockon and DCS A-10C, but count on compatibility between the two DCS titles. While I sincerely hope I'm wrong, I expect lockon compatibility and support to be dropped either after DCS A-10C is released or after the release of the next aircraft, which I expect to be a fixed wing fighter. Aero
  19. Is that right? That's nice to know. I saw your AB mod. Looks great! Aero
  20. I like it! I'm working one one with a bluish hue. I can't seem to find something that I really like. it's either too light or too dark. It seems you've found the right balance. Nice work  Aero
  21. I heard somewhere that there is enough leftover from DCS to implement clickable 3D cockpits. However, these have their own downsides (no HUD, MFDs, etc). I'm still waiting patiently for ED to release the third-party 6DOF cockpit tools. Thanks for the in-cockpit mouse pointer key-stroke. I often let new people fly in the cockpit while I watch on a different monitor. This will make it easier to point things out to them :)
  22. I will try the other two. FORSAG.tga doesn't work unless you use an old model.
  23. Ok, I like the new after burner model in FC2.0, I think, but with that texture, It almost seems to me there are these giant orange balloons on the back of the plane. What's the name of this texture and where can I find it? Thanks Aero
