    LHA-1 Tawara

    New and improved:
  2. Green is a color...
  3. You don't need to install the beta. Just switch between release and openbeta via the dcs_updater command line utility.

    LHA-1 Tawara

Yup. And the same goes for the KC-130. Time for some fuel starvation and mid-air collision practice!
  5. Yay! there's a KC130 folder in \CoreMods\aircraft\AV8BNA\Shapes\ :D
  6. Oh? Are you sure you don't have any old updates pending? According to updates.digitalcombatsimulator.com, the latest OB version is 1.5.7.11762.396, which is "old" (as in not new today).
  7. A paint kit for an early access module must also be seen early access (i.e. not completely finished). But if you can't wait for something better to arrive, it's a pretty trivial job to strip the color off the livery files while preserving things like panel lines, rivets, weathering etc.
  8. There's water outside Normandy, and you can place carriers in Nevada using Poly(Mt5?)_Roie's trick:
  9. Check your email (and spam filter). I got my serial in the mail right after paying.
  10. Wait for 8 hours and try again. Updates usually go live 4-6-ish PM European time.
  11. From FB:
  12. Google drive or dropbox are probably the best alternatives.

    ILS DME

If you're talking about ILS+DME(TACAN) channel pairing, that isn't really relevant at Beslan, as there is no DME or TACAN there (at least according to Lino's beacon map). And the channel pairing is only relevant for DMEs co-located with the GP (terminal DME), which isn't the case for the TACANs spread around the Georgia map (they're set up as enroute navaids, despite being located at the airfields). Edit: and yes, I'm using a mix of the terms DME and TACAN here. As far as distance measurement goes, it's the same thing, operating on the same frequencies with the same signal specs. Edit 2: and regarding the channel pairing only being relevant for terminal DME: I am of course referring to the DME channels paired to ILS frequencies, not VORs. Just so that's clear.
  14. I'm planning on making a YAV-8B prototype skin and some variant of the RAF's winter camo:
  15. Nice video! Can't wait to have a go at this myself :)
  16. I'm nitpicking, but what do you mean about it being a "single beam"? The localizer and glide path(-slope for the non-ICAO folks) are two separate systems operating at different frequencies at separate locations. While it may appear as "one beam" to the pilot who just sets the LOC frequency in his/her nav receiver (with the corresponding GP freq being auto tuned due to standardized frequency pairing), saying that a 110.1MHz signal from one end of the runway and a 334.4MHz signal from 400-ish meters from the opposite runway end is a single beam is a bit of a stretch of the term "single". (and just for the record, I have been working for the world's largest ILS manufacturer for 10 years, in test and R&D, so I don't need to look up how it works)
  17. Just go a few newsletters back, and you'll find: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3276316&postcount=115 Seeing that the 29th is the last DCS release day (=wednesday or friday) in November, people who missed the pre-sale discount despite receiving the newsletter have no one to blame but themselves...
  18. Case in point, somewhere in Switzerland some time in the nineties (or perhaps eighties?). That turned out well :p
  19. According to the FAA registry, there are 139* Yakovlev Yak-52s in the US (there are loads of Romanian Aerostars as well), with 37 in Arizona and the neighbouring states. So it's no C172 population-wise, but not exactly rare either. *) Edit: 225 in total, including the Romanian models.

    F-15E?

The plane itself isn't classified, but certain systems most likely are. They will need to be approximated in a believable way, similar to what ED did with the DSMS in the A-10C.
  21. Just out of curiosity, why did you buy them for features they don't have? Despite it being 2017, I didn't expect my new motorcycle to hover, even though they said we would have hoverbikes by now in the fifties...
  22. [rant mode] For crying out loud... Which part of "This is an early test, the final version will be slightly different." don't you understand? Wait for the final effect before filling the thread with nonexistent bug reports. [/rant mode]
  23. Or you could make the whole plane lighter by replacing the pilot's oxygen bottle with helium :)
  24. All release dates are published here. If there are no news there are no news: ...and as a side note, I'm happy to see (in the f-18 subforum) that someone else also dislikes the constant nagging about release dates:
  25. The AAU-34 altimeter is adjustable to sea level pressures between 28.1 and 31 InHg, so depending on your altitude, it might not be possible to zero it QFE.
