  1. Drop by our forums some time. Have some very experienced Hog drivers. We fly 9est on Wed and Fri. I learned way more in a short time with a virtual squadron than I ever did by myself. Even if it is not ours can't recommend joining one enough. Sage
  2. Check out http://skyvector.com/ is you're looking for charts and flight planning. Completely free. Somebody already mentioned ForeFlight... I am not a pilot I just play one on the computer... :) That said I'm an aviation nut. A LOT of real world pilots use ForeFlight on their iPads now. It will even show you a moving plane overlayed onto approach charts, airport diagrams, etc. All in real time. There is a ton of stuff in the modern day plane to tell you where you are and where you are going... Since you mentioned this is a school project... I could see where it might be possible to incorporate some of that stuff into a Google glass type thing. Kind of a head up display that you can take with you in any plane and not have to fumble with your tablet. You might also look at something that would display a virtual air space around the plane. I'm sure lots of GA guys would love to know how close they are to a Class Bravo without having to guess with landmarks if they didn't have a Garmin in the plane... One last thing. Take a look at PilotEdge. It's a virtual ATC company, but a large amount of the guys on their forums are RW pilots and very friendly. You might what to ask your questions on there too. Sounds like a fun project. Good luck. Sage
  3. Yep. I told him to hold off that some day yaknow... 2018 or so, and DCS would release their F-18 and people would start buying stuff... :) :) :)
  4. Anyone interested in building an F 18 C pit... The guy at the Hornets store.com went out of business he still has stuff on eBay and is cutting some pretty good deals to get rid of his leftover inventory but he only has a few things left of each part I picked up a few things around 10 to 15 percent discount giver take
  5. Baker, my A10 Ultra mfcd windows are not clickable even when the clickable windows box is checked is that an error you can think of how to fix or what I did wrong off the top of your head or do you think you need a bug report?
  6. VCVW-14 two spots VCVW14_Striker USA A10C VCVW14_SageOT USA A10C
  7. Nice work!
  8. Go ahead and get started on, battery gauge, break pressure gauge, compass, and ECM counters for the F-18C. We're going to need those too... well I am. :music_whistling::thumbup:
  9. Thanks much! That really helped. What's your guesstimate for how long the wires got until you noticed you needed the pull ups?
  10. I just reread the post. Awesome. I would love the files when you figure it out. Thanks.
  11. Thanks Peter. I am on the edge of grasping what you ate saying, but not quite there... :) could i bother you to post a pic of that setup?
  12. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=117011 All right folks... So I got everything working from the above thread (which is awesome). However, I fully admit I'm in over my head. I completely understand how the matrix works, I've seen the diagrams and they make sense. As a non-electronics guy, what I'm having trouble figuring out is how to practically wire a matrix this large and keep track of everything... Do I use protoboard and solder the matrix onto it and leave places to plug buttons/switchs in later... Is there something out there already pre-made for this...? I could really use pictures, or a link to a good "how to actually wire this thing" tutorial. Everywhere I search, Google and on here is more about the theory, which I get. Thanks in advance, Sage
  13. Overpro you are awesome!!!! I just got this up and running. I know slightly less than jack and sh*t about electronics but your tutorial was easy enough that even a dummy like me could figure it out. You just saved me a lot of money. Thanks again for putting this out to the community! Sage
  14. Greek, Just wanted to see my new Sig. Looks great, thanks man! :) Sage
  15. First. Wow! This is the most non-snarky comments I have seen in a row in quite a while! Just awesome all, for real. Luftwoller, Just to echo a few comments. Everything I know I learned on YouTube. I didn't even know what questions I needed to ask. Just search "DCS tutorial" and start scrolling. NeilWillis is also correct. I have learned more in a few weeks flying with a squadron than I did in months of forum surfing. If you have the time I can't recommend this enough. Finally, these guys take their sh*t serious. http://www.476vfightergroup.com/downloads.php Some of the best help docs/cheat sheets I have seen and the were nice enough to put most of them out for public consumption. Keep on powering through, it only gets more fun. And remember once you have it all figured out 2.0 will release and probably change everything... Kidding. ;) :) :) Sage
  16. As long as the ETA is before I get my F-18 pit complete we're good. :) :) Thanks for the response. Keep up the good work!
  17. Hey Baker, Is it ever going to be possible to resize without the aspect ratio locked? Helps with that last bit of minor tweaking when you're lining them up with an Cougar MFD or similar. Didn't know if the locked ratio is a product of how this has to work or if it's something you will be able to implement in the future. Thanks
  18. Hegykc, You better pull this off. I think I am looking forward to your affordable stick mod almost as much as I am the F-18c release. :) Also, congrats on your new MAT-Vs. :) http://www.janes.com/article/50193/croatia-displays-new-afv-fleets
  19. Finally said screw it and took it into FedEx office. :)
  20. Doc, My vSquadron played this for the first time last night. Great work! Question about one of the helos... It would not die... Is that a "normal" glitch? We are going to try more of your missions. Again, we all loved it. Especially the fighters in the group, kept them engag d for the whole session.
  21. Pitbldr, I think I already tried something similar... Played around with it so much I've kind of forgotten what I did and didn't do. :) I'll give it a go. Thanks.
  22. MudRat02, Digging up an old thread here but... I just ran into this problem with Adobe... I spent all day on it with no fix. If you're still around... Where you able to come up with a solution?
  23. Whether people choose to use it or not I'm just excited that can now be done. Hopefully the multi-crew is not proprietary and this will be able to open up the crew slots in the Mi-8 and Huey, and maybe encourage a third party to give us a Hind, Alligator, Cobra or Apache. Plus of course the F15E... S
  24. If you can get the X55 down to $60ish... c'mon for real? Shut up and take my money! Very cool.
