That sound mod should be the normal sound for it and not a mod imo. Much better than vanilla.
-
The only thing i don't like about it yet is the sound for me personally. Theres no real brake sound like in the other planes with differential braking what makes it a bit odd and no sounds when you load your guns like on the MiG-15 for example, so you always have to look on the lights what makes everything a bit unintuitive compared to the other MiGs. And the cockpit sounds are at least far too quiet compared to the 21 for example. If there would be some sort of mod like someone made for the 21 recently (that thing is amazing and shouldn't be a mod) i would be ok but sadly there isn't anything out there. Personally I would wait, mostly for the sound + some other small bits and pieces that would be easily fixable (for example the starter cover glitches through some other cover when opened, yeah would be easily fixed like the sound but someone needs to do it). On the other hand i think it will be fixed fast after theyre done with the Harrier and the Mirage and the guy from the 19 is probably working on the 23 right now so if you don't care about these things as other people don't do that much in here then yes, go for it.

Sadly the developer isnt active here or in the russian forum for some reason, only on facebook. We can only wait.
-
If I remember correctly, the active jamming part should work (although its not very good or useful) but the passive jamming doesnt work at all because there is none of that implemented in DCS World. So for full functionality it needs an update to the core game sadly and there Magnitude cant do anything about it.

Now we get this discussion that nobody wants every month? Great. Makes no sense for DCS (most people fly one or some planes but very extensively, nobody likes every plane), nobody likes it (as the poll shows every month) and it wouldnt encourage ED to get any faster with anything because why should that change anything to it.
-
Yep, they worked back in the old days, i remember it.
-
No patchnotes if they don't send that to ED, but if it works, its nice to hear.
-
I think the only real huge change is that you still get the direction of a target, even if its locking you, so you still know where it is compared to you. Small change but huge impact for practicality. There was somewhere a small webapp that showed how it works exactly and there it was also explained in much detail. In general the dots just give you the direction and they lighten up everytime it detects a radar beam going over your aircraft. Very simple. I think it can also detect the range somewhat, the amount of beeps (between 1 and 3) are changing on how intense the radar signal is you're detecting? At least thats how i understood it, so maybe i'm wrong about that thing.

Nice. Hopefully OB will be updated wednesday.

Yes, but they're only tagged as "I-16" in the user files section, because there wasn't an I-16 category available when they were released. One pack contains many spanish civil war liveries: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3305693/?sphrase_id=20170222 and the other one chinese nationalist liveries: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3305355/?sphrase_id=20170222 With the release of the skin template (very soon, maybe even next open beta patch) hopefully there will be more of them

[REPORTED]Missing liveries on pilot's helmet and parachute.

Same for me. -
If I remember correctly, the P-51B or C was planned first instead of the D. At least there were some 3d models of it in the game files, but maybe someome knows more about that or i'm just simply wrong.
-
They almost never post there anyway. But glad its being worked on + the radio is coming just as expected. :) EDIT: comment under it asks about skin template, they say it will be released next week if the auto translator is correct.

Wishlist for potential planes after JF-17
zebra0312 replied to J-20's topic in Deka Ironwork Simulations
J-7G looks very interesting, although i have no idea about the other chinese fighters. -
Yep, so theyre probably working on a radio, maybe the radio antenna will even be removable at some point? Would be a nice option.
-
Meh, if ED would work on these props like on the modern ones ... still hoping they will fix all the props after the damage model overhaul. :(
-
So its even possible using the bombs first, I wouldn't have thought that this is possible, thanks. Now we have to wait until chucks guide gets updated, now he only needs to take the pictures for it. :P
-
There's one hungarian one but yep, feels a bit uncompleted.
-
Thinking about it, but in the editor it seems very basic, just 250kg bombs and the plane with three skins + some bugs people mention in the forums. Is it planned to get everything "completed" or is it going to be like the D9 that still seems to have some bugs?
-
Nice to see that its still being worked on because theres not much activity from the developer here it seems. Btw is there any information about all the ordnance the Type 24 could use? So now we have 4x7,62mm ShKAS MGs, 2x 100kg bombs and 6 rockets. In IL-2 it also can use 50kg bombs, somewhere on Wiki it says up to 500kg bombs without the rockets (so 2x250kg bombs?). Also what's about the 2 ShVAK 20mm cannons in the wings and there were some interesting extra fuel tanks that look like boxes and it says somewhere on the internet (bad source I know but there aren't many) that every version from 1940 on could use these things. With all the ordnance it would be a really versatile little airplane, it's already my favourite prop in DCS right now.
-
Just use it like the rockets. Arm the bombs (from вык to вкл) and select how many bombs you want to drop on the selector (I or II). Release them with the rocket/bomb trigger. If you have rockets AND bombs loaded, the I-16 will shoot the rockets first and after that the bombs, so be careful about that (blew myself up trying it out the first time).
-
It's very easy, just use your afterburner without any extra load/tanks and stay fast, first you will climb like a rocket, later the climb rate will be a bit lower but at really high altitudes the aircraft should even climb at Mach 2. Also at some point you should use the Mach number instead of IAS in your cockpit but never go below 500kph IAS. With that it should be easy to get to 15 - 20km at Mach 2.

Same here, nothing in the module manager except in the section where you can choose the wallpaper. There it only says "buy".
-
At least it is "released" on Steam (and at full price now) + the reviews are 88% positive. :D
-
Don't forget the funny looking fuel tanks, if they are available for this version ;)
