Im sorry, but no-one is saying the MiG is the more advanced. And i dont think anyone thinks they are the closest match because of design. The reason for the whole discussion is because it will be the first fully modeled aircraft to fight the MiG. If you want to talk how superiour the mirage is over everything, should i bring in the f-22?
-
Because we have already done that?
-
To be fair.. The mirage is going to be the closest contender we have to the mig-21. That's why its being brought up.. And, just for your informaton, there has been a delta wing MiG-21 ;) And the change in flight performance was not that big as far as i know. It was mostly dropped because of increased take off run and a few other factors. However the mirage is built negatively unstable, so it will like to get tossed around more... Hopefully for the better...

EDIT: nvm.. i was wrong... carry on.. I dont think the russians really used the design after the MiG-15.. -
Sorry, didn't see that RED is reserved... i'll try another time, good luck to all of you :)

Malvinas/Falklands project

EDIT: please.. warn me if it's old.. -
I really don't care if the open beta crashes every 5 minutes or whatever.. I already have a "stable" (haha :P) version of the game to play if something goes wrong.. But its up to them if they want to release it or not. i'm already prepared for another 12 months of waiting ;) Q: Is shared cockpit estimated for initial 2.0 (not 1.5) release or will it come sometime later.

Well.. that was the result.. it looks just ok for a first try, but deleted and started over again with a new technique

alright, thanks

Another little question... is it possible for the blueprint to be shown in wire-frame mode?
-
Thanks guys. Working now.. Tried freezing, but as joey said untick "show frozen in grey" works :)

Just got started with 3dsmax again after starting out in blender.. and i have to say, now i feel 3dsmax is less intuitive :/ some features (like actually being compatible with dcs..) makes it better in some situations though. My question right now, how would you go about making the planes with the reference images uneditable/unselectable? It's not possible to set up the references in the background? i tried but it didn't seem to work.. 3dsMax 2015.

Plan is to make it out of resin? i really liked that idea over the aluminium one because of the price difference and because it can be in some/most cases more realistic. :joystick: -
M-2000C for DCS World by RAZBAM - Available for Pre-Purchase
Farlander replied to MemphisBelle's topic in M-2000
Congratulations on your first dcs module! However, im not going to pre-purchase sadly. I think the 60$ price tag is too much for a product that does not promise EFM at release, sorry. Neither do i think a pre-purchase at 50$ for a plane that might not come with EFM is justified either. I've had enough of the "we'll release now for full price, but EFM wont be here in several months.." Anyways, i'll definitely pick it up when it gets an EFM. Looks like a great plane. -
Id like to say that there is way more to both of these cases where the airliners were shot down. You can do your own research, and in the end you are going to notice that both of them happened because of confusion. If you want to know the whole deal, go read up on it. if it's the usual USA vs. USSR arguement then im sorry to say that both incident were just as bad, but the one in Iran is just simply more disgusting... Can the MiG-25/31 shoot down the sr-71?.... we don't know.

Leatherneck Simulations Mini-Update - SEPTEMBER 2015
Farlander replied to Cobra847's topic in Heatblur Simulations
Even though i hate swedes, i still pray for a viggen. Yours sincerely, Norway -
yes, you wont get far with it, but it doesn't need much to keep in the air, and it's a fantastic aerobatic plane (if its the reinforced version that is ;) ) I have one advice for you though, check your airbrake holding/neutral spring.. it's all that keeps the airbrake from extending. on my 3rd (and 4th..) solo flight it did exactly that right after takeoff. it suddenly extended fully and the nose of the aircraft went up really quickly, i was stressed out because of what had append, and the new sound in the cockpit, but it took me about 5-10 seconds before i saw that it was only the airbrakes that were extended. You'd think it's the first thing you would check if something happens, but i was definitely a little bit stressed out.. and so my instructor told me that the first thing i should do is to look at both wings visually. And if you only find 1 out of 2 wings, forget the rest of the troubleshooting... Jump :pilotfly: (edit, it can also be smart to hold one hand at the airbrake in the tow, just to be sure. i always do that in the B4) Anyways, fly safe. that was enough off-topic. I really hope the jet will be the viggen, doing short landings and stuff in that thing would be awesome.

Nice, you fly solo? just transitioned from a pilatus b-4 to a DG-300, in terms of performance glass fiber is a dream (leatherneck, please make a glider for dcs with functioning thermals, ridgelift and waves. or maybe a l-13 powered by a tj100?)
-
ye, they'll release the announcement when they're ready for it. anyways, what is that plane in your picture?
-
that's the wrong timezone, you'll have to look for leatherneck time zone, it is very variable and is controlled by a small group of trolls. It is kind of like bad weather, you know it will come but you can never be 100% sure as to when it comes.

Is it really a "minor" modification?
