  1. After Vulkan and VR support are implemented, I really hope that ED starts to concentrate on giving CA the much needed love it truly deserves. ATM VR is totally useless in CA, which is sad because it would be very entertaining and immersive to be in any fully modeled vehicle in VR, from transport to tank, and everything in between, not to mention first person infantry for the use of manpads, JTAC, Anti Tank, Fire Teams. Seriously why bother calling it Digital Combat Simulator? instead of Combat Air Simulator?
  2. Well I found out that if you refuel, wait until it stops the first time, and before the bug starts trying to refuel you(forever!)again, just roll forward a bit until ground crew yells bloody murder! "Hey what are you doing!" Then rearm if you have to. Solved! it's not pretty, but it works until ED can find this gremlin that's been hiding for over two years now. Cheers, hope this workaround helps.
  3. I find the flaps do work great when I dive bomb from 3 to 4k or do strafing runs. Before you dive to strafe or dive bomb, put your flaps to bar 2(look on your wings to see them, Black bars 1 to 4, Red being for landing) then turn into target, lower your throttle, or throttle right down, depending on height and angle of attack. Once you make your attack you will see how much easier it is to pull up and fly out with success. make sure to start putting flaps back up while pulling up after the attack to keep your speed, and always dodge, you don't want to make it easy for the enemy to shoot you back. Hope that helps mate. Cheers.
  4. I was flying my 109 with my brother yesterday and we both got the refueling bug. As a matter of fact we always get the bug when we fly the 109. it's really annoying because we like to try and keep our airframe as long as possible before we have to spawn into a new one again, and with the 109 we always have to get a new bird after every mission. Please fix this, it's been two years already!
  5. Ahhhh okay, thank you mate I'll try it right away. Whoo hoo! Now I can continue creating this mission. Thanks again Flappie, and sorry BIGNEWY, my bad never made a road base before so that was new to me. Thank you for your quick reply, your awesome and and a perfect person for the job, ED must be very proud. Cheers to both of you!
  6. Thanks mate, hope this helps. Cheers Road Base Test.trk
  7. Hello all, I hope all is good with you and yours. Recently I created a road base to land at to rearm and refuel, and I put in the proper vehicles to rearm and refuel. For some reason I'm not getting the normal "copy" from ground crew, and nothing happens. I've been making missions for years now and never encountered this problem before. Do I have to do something different because it's a road base and not an actual air base? Thanks all, Hope I can get this resolved today. Cheers.
  8. Love DCS World in VR, and am really glad they fixed it for Combined Arms, but my question is will ED eventually fix it so your head is confined to the inside of your cockpit(whatever air frame you're flying) or will you still be allowed to phase through it like a ghost? I would love to have my head stop and even have a "Clack" sound If I try to pass my head through the glass.
  9. They do plan for all of that, so it will happen eventually. It's gonna get even more real! Happy landings!
  10. Yes I know, but thanks for sharing for others, but that'll get attention in the near future. Cheers mate!
  11. This 2.7 update has changed dog fighting forever, especially for WWII. Clouds are synced with all players in multiplayer(wow). Huge game changer. Here's just one scenario. WWII: Your flying to an objective(escort, bombing run, patrol, whatever) and even though your trying your hardest to keep situational awareness, all of a sudden you get jumped by an enemy/s and your trying your hardest to evade. Then at your 10 o'clock you see a huge cloud that if your lucky will reach in time before your adversary can get a good solution on you. just as your about to get shot out of the sky you go tail deep into the clouds, they take shots on you in desperation but miss. Once in the cover of the clouds you turn over, dive go under their belly and get on their six, or just escape to fight another day... OM GOODNESS THIS CHANGES EVERYTHING! Thank you so very much ED, today feels like Christmas and my birthday all at once. Also Thanks to all you folks who have great DCS World channels on Youtube or other platforms that help others learn this most amazing sim. HIP HIP HOORAY, today we learn to fight with new tactics! Cheers all, see you in the clouds, or not!
  12. Aye lad, and thank you. We're all sooooooo excited right now! Fingers Crossed.
  13. I'm in Canada, and we usually get new releases by Noon, Here's hoping, and like dburne I'm getting coffee into me, will go for my daily 10KM walk and by the time I get back it'll be ready to download!
  14. When the F-86 Sabre first came out my brother and I bought it, had fun for months mostly doing ground pounding. then we really got into the dog fighting and I admit dog fighting wasn't my strong suit in this particular air frame. Practice and determination made me a much better, more deadlier dog fighter, especially online with real people, as the A.I. can do maneuvers that would make any human pilot pass out, not to mention climb like a rocket. I also got better at spotting aircraft friend or foe. Don't give up, and I'm sure you'll eventually get much better as well. Cheers mate.
  15. I need shoulder surgery, but even that's not going to stop me from flying, The only problem I see is which cloud set up do I want to experience first, and with what air frame. It's going to be a tough choice, what about you guys?
  16. Well if 2.7 is released tomorrow, it'll be the first time since I was laid off(Covid-19) that I'm happy to be home not working. See you all in the clouds folks!
  17. I agree sometimes I ate really cheap foods and saved my money for weeks, to get what I wanted, no partying, no outings, no beer, or whatever cost money. Now I have a decent computer, VR, HOTAS and all for my gaming(mostly Sims) Like you said it's all how much you want it. Cheers.
  18. Agreed I think it's still the same. I got into the new German AAA After being in my Huey for a bit, and it was in rearming mode, it was over 1500 seconds, and the seconds were counting down. I don't know exactly where it started at but ya that's a life time in the gaming world. I wonder if that can be changed in a lua file, or if it's programmed that way like it or not?
  19. Thanks again Northstar, it's very much appreciated. Cheers mate.
  20. Yes, that sounds right, I just needed to be reminded, Thanks mate! Now will they automatically rearm themselves, or do you have to take control of the vehicle and manually do it with all of them. Thanks again. Cheers.
  21. Hey it's been awhile since I did any Combined Arms, But I do seem to remember that you could get your A.I to rearm somehow after it used all it's ammo. I Think there has to be a transport truck in the area, and a fuel truck if you want to refuel. Not sure it it was a basic script or something else. Cheers and thanks all!
  22. Thanks for testing it out. I had problems with the friendly AI not following their path, and changed it several times, testing it every time I changed it until I thought it was fixed. It seems to work sometimes, and sometimes the AI just craps out. I tested the latest version several times and the Friendly AI did their job every time. So I don't know if it's a coding issue, or if the buildings/houses are confusing the AI. But if it does work the mission continues, and you RTB for a successful mission. As for the swearing, yeah it's more hollywoodish then real obviously, and I just wanted it to feel like your in a movie and just have fun with it. Sorry things didn't go that way for you. I'll try to tweak it and see if I can get better results. Cheers.
  23. If you could make playable infantry, I would love a recon soldier with a laser pointer for JTAC. An anti-tank soldier with Javelin/RPG. Improved anti-air soldiers. Of course assault Inf with various guns/rifle. A demolition expert with fun explosive charges/satchels(when you just have to take out a bunker/enemy position), And a sniper/spotter. Full immersive/clickable tanks/vehicles would be amazing too! Hope something comes out of this Battlefield Productions, I really do.
  24. Hey Huey pilots, recently I uploaded a Huey mission and it was inspired by my older Brother James(Shamus) and a good friend and (expanded Family member) met back in the 70's(Derek) who was a member of the Canadian Elite Van Doos. it's obviously not reality, and yes it's a bit holywoodish(in a fun way). I guess I could do this myself, but I want someone with Huey experience to fly this mission not knowing what to expect so I can share this with both my brothers. Must have the Persian Gulf map. If you so choose to accept this mission then all I ask is that you record it and share. This mission is rated PG13 in other words there is some adult language. Thanks to all who accept! Cheers mates! 25. Listen, I'm not here to Piss on anyone's parade. I think there are some great Ideas here too. And to those who think giving door gunner or other positions that have nothing to do with functioning a particular air frame for free I feel you, I really do. Maybe your right as well about bringing non prospects into this sim who otherwise would just ignore it. Obviously this thread is being read by ED, and maybe they might see it as a way of bringing more people into the fold sort of speak. But what I found is most flight simmers are in the middle, they want immersion but not a steep learning curve. Which means this is a niche market and I think ED recognize that as well, but who knows maybe ED will experiment with these things in the future. But alas I feel they are still waiting to maybe a 3.0 version with updated and totally revamped ATC, weather(clouds and all), most if not all of their air frames along with 3rd party being fully complete. Vulkan engine, you know, the whole lot. DCS world is a diamond in the rough, but it still shines, and I know if it keeps going the way it does, well only time will tell, but I feel that the future is bright for ED and it's valued Customers, Cheers all
