  1. I noticed a comment in the "User Downloads" that somebody was having trouble getting the skin to show so I tired it and cannot get the skin to show either. I'm using Beta 1.5.6.1938 Any help appreciated, as I don't have a clue regarding the description.lua file
  2. So you sorted RedDog? To change the skin in the game go into the mission editor click on the aircraft and on the panel on the right click the second (weapons loadout) tab. You should see the available skins on the bottom with a small picture showing the skin that's selected. If you don't see the skin you want go into the actual skin folder and open the Descrption.lua file, at the bottom there will be a country line which specifies what country needs to be selected in the mission editor to get the skin to show
  3. Many Thanks for sharing Awesome skin Watched the video that was great too and the music was great
  4. Thankyou very much for that it's really appreciated Got me quite excited now can't wait to get an e-mail asking me for money
  5. Many Thanks for the feedback the 13 degree forward/15 degree offset sounds really cool I was thinking of matt black steel, but if the plastic works, then I'd save a bunch of cash by taking that route Mmmmm now need to give it some thought Cheers Appreciated you guys took the time
  6. I like the look if this, its quite expensive for what it is. I'd be really interested to know if anybody here is using it and what there are thoughts on comfort and if it makes a noticeable difference to using the stick
  7. Is it possible to see a map of which buttons, hats, etc: on the Mongoos T-50 correspond to the buttons on the Warthog? At the moment I'm planning to use the Mongoos on a Warthog base so that I can still use Target. I may get the base later, but I'd like see more detail on it and some reviews.
  8. LOL let me guess 2 weeks :megalol: I'd love it to get released, it's very original. Nice nice work As usual keep my eyes on the Downloads and here
  9. Looks great Is it a personal or a WIP to get released when it's done? The suspense is killing me
  10. Awesome as always
  11. Yeah I enquired earlier about landing nav and HUD displays in general and got this video I've only been doing TILS pratice runs at foggy Batumi and its been working fine The video is excellent its the only one I've come across that shows TILS in action with titles informing us what's going on Big thanks to Sgt Cyanide
  12. Dunno if this helps here is a screenshot of my liveries folder, showing the folder names for all the aircraft I have
  13. RedDog any particular aircraft? As Rudel states you can use the path usually c:\Users\Saved Games\DCS (or DCS.openalapha or DCS.openbeta depending on which version of the game you are running) The Liveries directory should be there by default, at least it was for me, although you may need to make up the specific aircraft directory, some are there by default some not. The other way is by using JSGME or OVGME. I recommend OVGME over JSGME but both work fine and there are threads in the Mods and Apps section telling you how to use them. The former is the easier way but if you have a lot of skins and say a small SSD for your C drive you might want to use JSGME or OVGME If you are still struggling I can try to put something together to help
  14. Wow Thank you so much for going to the trouble, exactly what I needed for TILS. Not only that but a nice looking video too and really nice flying. I cannot yet follow HUD steerpoints that accurately in the turns. Awesome the way the runway appears from nowhere at the last minute That was great and learned a lot from the video
  15. Thanks Zabuza I'm beginning to get to grips with it, but still got a bit of a way to go That helps
  16. Thanks Rudel That is a really good video, he makes it look soooo easy though Need more practice
  17. Well that's really just part of it, the HUD symbology overall is a bit bizarre. Anyway I can't find any decent landing tutorials on a visual landing. I can land it but only by totally ignoring what the HUD is telling me. When I follow the HUD or use the auto throttle, I end up on finals at 550kph or thereabouts. When I use the instruments and ignore what the HUD is telling me to do (from Chuck's Guide and the manual) my AOA marker sinks off the HUD. Of any of you hotshots out there could post a video, of landing showing the control positions, IAS and HUD to do a correct visual approach it would be much appreciated God help me when I start to try TILS
  18. Who doesn't love a "shark Mouth"? Thanks for the skin
  19. Timka You are simply awesome Many Many Thanks
  20. Ahh Interesting. Guess I better read the manual some more Thanks RagnarDa.....................very useful information
  21. Crazyeddie Thanks for the conformation I thought it would be a hopeless task but thought it worth the shout aceviper Thanks for pointing me to that skin that's great
  22. I had a look at the template files but it looks to me, as total novice to skinning, that the templates have changed. The files I have do not appear to match the template images. I know nearly all the files are .dds, but I thought it was still possible to use .bmp. Just would be good if somebody with skinning experience would tell me if they could be used or are now no longer viable due to template changes
  23. I wrongly posted in the FC3 section and asked a mod to remove. I thought this would be a more suitable place to elicit a response I came across these 2 skins in the user downloads section ages ago that I liked. They use an old format and I was wondering a) Can they be made to show in the game now? b) If they can can anybody help me by either showing me or helping me write description.lua files for them The 2 skins are a Lipetsk skin and an SU-35 grey splinter skin. But I don't have a clue if they are redeemable or not Here is a link to them https://www.dropbox.com/sh/rseeip23l...HeFKyHEwa?dl=0 Any help would be appreciated
  24. Going to re-post in the Mods & Apps section Could a MOD remove this from here please, apologies
