  1. Well then just follow the instructions and replace the C with B if you want to install them inside the game itself. Why you would do this is beyond me as they will get wiped at every update I reckon Use either the saved games path as suggested or JSGME/OVGME, search the site for what these pieces of software can do for you. Just another suggestion when you are in the Mission Editor & cannot find the skins make sure the country you are flying as is the same as in the Description.lua file for the skin If you don't understand what I'm on about try flying as UK for the Spit, the chances are the skin (or at least some skins) will come up. Most skins for the Spit are RAF although there are Armee De L'Air skins (France) and others If you fly for the wrong country you will not see the appropriate skins Just a thought
  2. Fantastic Thanks so much for this beautiful skin
  3. Oh so cool I was just going to ask was it going public and would you mind awfully getting a move on because I'm wearing out my refresh key :music_whistling: Many Many Thanks Your work is fabulous, take a bow
  4. You are not wrong there Sir I absolutely love all the JASDF skins
  5. Absolutely terrific
  6. Is the tool for making the flight plan using the custom tool not still working? Been a while since I flew the Viggen but making the flight plan up with it then loading it via the kneeboard was a God send. At times it could be a little finicky but overall a great time saver Not sure if this helps or it's what you want but thought I'd try https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=195685
  7. Think it's great I also use it mainly for where I'd speak a command but also for Track IR centering etc: For the price it's a bit of a steal IMHO
  8. Told Ya Crowebar :music_whistling: I think as you get better you use the Turn Indicator less as time and skill increase. You eventually get a feel for what the Spit is going to do. I still glance down at the TI occasionally though, I have no physical feedback like a real pilot would have so cannot judge what the aircraft is planning to do next. This is where VR or even better a motion sim would add a new level of immersion. I found the TI advice many moons back when struggling with the Dora & it gave me a step change improvement and encouraged me to practice more and not just bin the whole thing By the by I admire your measured approach, reasoned advice and willingness to take account of other opinions. It is after all just a game
  9. Absolutely!! Could not agree more, be prepared for the real pilots telling you that's all wrong though :music_whistling: One more little trick I that I found useful is to map the commands "Wheel Brakes Increase" & "Wheel Brakes Decrease" to a button (or a keyboard combo if using TM TARGET) and then map that to something that's real easy to reach on the stick. I'm using a Hog and map it to Counter Measures Hat Up and Down. You could use the paddle but then you'll only be able to increase them If you are not dead straight (& I'm not good enough to do that consistently) you will loose rudder authority as you slow, you're watching the turn needle and you'll see that rudder inputs has less (or no) effect. When that happens give the button or whatever you are using on the stick a flick, it will apply the brakes progressively and hold them there until you use the "Wheel Brake Decrease" Rudders will then become effective as you are applying brakes too, tap, tap, tap on the rudders. I am never arrow straight doing this but reasonable enough to hold it around the center line
  10. Speedo is pretty hard to see Petsild made a mod that helps a little See here about 1/2 way down https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=189399&page=3 Personally I only look at it until threshold after that I just judge the landing by feel, as the speedo is pretty much on the peg by the time you are leveling out/flaring. I actually try not to flare at all but hold the Spit level until she lands herself, then back on the stick Everybody has their own way of doing it though & you just need to try some suggestions and practice until you find what works for you
  11. Hope you got my PM Deltaalphalima1 Looking forward to this
  12. I have one on a set of headphones running Track IR There isn't really anything to it..........clip it into a USB port and that's it If it's working you should be able to see the IR LEDs lighting Red. If that's good and you are still having problems I doubt it's the clip, mine runs well even in normal ambient lighting PM me if you want me to check anything specific or just reply to the thread
  13. I think it's a pretty common problem, even John in the Nav Video tail struck it's VERY easy to do Bit of practice and being slow and gentle with the stick help but you need a good stick with good resolution to really prevent it. As said already might not be you might be your stick. Trimming and axis curves can help a lot Oh and don't get too despondent, I saw a YouTube video somewhere of a cockpit view in the real thing and the pilot got a High Alpha warning as he lifted.........just saying!!
  14. I tried it and did not notice any discernable difference Nice that it works for you I'd love to see a mod with a thicker needle or different gauge or ICAO markers and flags anything to make it more readable The problem is now worse for me as the lighting in the cockpit doesn't work as well as it did before the upgrade to 2.5
  15. Yup I was on the Aerobatics server last night and messed up a landing Flipped the Spit and everybody was kicked except me. I owned up but very embarrinsing
  16. Yup I have an early version of Reshade working fine on both my own and another friend's computer.
  17. Thanks, I do use something similar but obviously not so skilled to keep it taxing slow and smooth It's not a huge issue really but when you spawn inside a hanger and require a 90 deg turn it can get quite exciting For some reason I find the Viggen the worst, it could be perceived or it could be because it applies great gobs of thrust exacerbating the situation no clue Just glad I'm not going crazy and others noticed it too
  18. No expert but couple of things the C:| should be a C:\ but that could be a typo Also you running as Administrator? It seems to work fine for me at least for cartridge 1, yet to try it for others I cannot get it to import right now, it's a pity if it's dead its a great tool and with a little improvement could be awesome, but glad I have it and very grateful to Sgt Cyanide Why Heatblur did not come up with this in the first place is beyond me, because programming through the Mission Editor taking the Lat/Long and entering the codes is a pain.
  19. Now submitted to Downloads section with some minor changes Should anybody want to incorporate into another document please let me know and I'll pass on the Excel file it was written in https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3133796/
  20. Thanks & I'm aware of that and cycle the wheelbrakes, although for me it seems to make little difference. I'll need to try a short experiment Not knowing if the position of the brake is on or off is annoying too & it's been like that a long long time too
  21. I agree it sure is robust and pretty easy to land It's more the taxi I find odd, in some of the multiplayer servers I'm always getting warnings for fast taxi, it's the throttle required to get it moving, like its stuck on the brakes................then BANG.............we are off like rocket down the taxiway. I now have a 20% curve on the rudders to make the steering input more controllable You're right that the current bug is only in the Beta I believe They are minor niggles for sure I just thought I'd ask to see if anybody had a solution or how they controlled it On the taxi way I'm on and off the throttle like I'm sawing wood It is an absolutely GREAT module delighted it came to DCS, current fave of all the jets, so farsighted of Heatblur to model it
  22. Oops I meant GROUND I love the Viggen, it's just the best jet out there, the harrier may give it some competition for my affections, but it's just such a great module So apart from the latest bug which is making take off and landing a bit tricky, one of the things I find that is annoying is the ground handling. I'm not questioning the flight model but it seems to need a helluva lot of throttle to get moving then it take off down the taxi way like a scalded cat. Do not get me wrong it's controllable but seems unrealistic to me. The steering also seems very sensitive and I recall that when it was relaesed it was stated that it was overdone, maybe I'm too much of a clutz to notice but it still seems like you blow on the rudders in a take off role and it wants to take a sharp right or left Just me?
  23. I occasionally get weird X-Wind behavior too with the brakes I cannot remember which order but one axis acts normally but at the same time it also applies around 50% input on the other axis The opposite axis only applies somewhere around 25% input when operated and has no effect on the other Unplugging and resetting fixes the issue for a long time. I think there may be some sort of firmware bug because it is quite rare and has been like this for a long time. I thought it was just me that got weird behavior, I'll check my Windows Game controllers............thanks
  24. Thanks Yo-Yo Yes I have them & I'll need to re-read all 3 again. It's aircraft related, I'm pretty sure but I don't know why the Dora sometimes behaves the way it does, it doesn't seem to occur every time. I don't doubt the model I just find it a bit odd and counter intuitive, but lots of things are I suppose...................counter-steering was another one (not aircraft related)
  25. Thanks probad I hear the arguments and agree. I am very gentle usually I never exceed 1200rpm most of the time under 1000 and when releasing the stick to free castor the tail wheel I'm at idle & not going much over walking speed on release I don't think it's torque swing as I'm at or close to idle and not changing throttle settings (most of the time) To me it's more like the tailwheel is stuck one way around then snaps and castors the other. Maybe that's the way the real bird is but it's a helluva handful for a sausage fingered virtual pilot like myself
