  1. Mustang or Spit, doesn't matter. It doesn't happen the other way around. I'm shooting @ them from less than 100m and never kill the pilot, which is ridiculous. And please, stop with the new DM nonsense, it is not implemented yet.
  2. I was quoting iFox.. In any case, P51 is draggier than Dora at high speeds. The parasitic drag (form, skin and interference drag) increases with the square of speed. What P51 is doing in DCS has nothing to do with reality. Sent from my Redmi 5 using Tapatalk
  3. I managed to changed the FOV in the Dora and I wanted to also change the cockpit head position to be a bit away from the dashboard to see the instruments but it won't go pass xtrans = -0.050000 in SnapViews.lua: [13] = {--default view viewAngle = 72.201538,--FOV hAngle = 0.000000, vAngle = -9.609863, x_trans = -0.050000, y_trans = 0.017064, z_trans = 0.036000, rollAngle = -0.000000, cockpit_version = 0, }, If I change xtrans to a value greater than -0.05 (zoom out) it doesn't do anything in the cockpit, the head position stays the same. With a greater FOV is shows the head further away from the instruments cluster so it kinda looks like a bug. Changing the FOV itself is also buggy or, at least, is not consistent with the older modules that could be changed in Server.lua. I had to modify the Zoom View axis and decrease the Y saturation until I got to the desired FOV but is should not work like that. FOV is a very important feature, especially for us, the 2D users. Thank you!
  4. FW 190 F-8.
  5. Devs, can you please check this, it's really frustrating to get killed only from 6 o'clock..
  6. It should be the other way around.. The pilot should suffer from fatigue.. with a period of recovery after pulling high Gs. He also should move slower, especially in WWII fighters. Not warm-up.. warm-up??? jeezzz..
  7. Our K-4 is heavily based on the G version.. + some extrapolations..
  8. http://www.virtualpilots.fi/feature/articles/109myths/ Judge for yourself..
  9. It experiences compressibility only in the vacuum of space, not @ sea level..
  10. In level flight at sea level D9 is ~10kph faster than the Mustang. It all depends on how heavy they are but the Mustang section profile is more draggy especially at high speeds.. Sent from my Redmi 5 using Tapatalk
  11. Yeah.. but it shouldn't, both in DCS and in real life. All sort of problems will arise from those speeds, especially on the Mustang.
  12. Do you remember the time when P51 was close to the real thing in terms of performance, could not do anything against both K4 and Dora 9, and no one would fly it? Pepperidge farm remembers. But now.. how the turntables. Insert the proper memes here. Sent from my Redmi 5 using Tapatalk
  13. Welcome! I have a friend who's a pilot in RL and is testing it. He's quite impressed what it can do. My only hope is that it will be 'modable'.
  14. All planes suffered at high Mach number not only the 109. I do believe that the 109 stick forces are exaggerated in DCS. As that DCS sports the best FM in the gaming industry, I also believe so, but I wonder for how long. There are other sims (not necessarily combat sims) that will be release this year, that would bring both breathtaking graphics and, at least, the same level FM complexity.
  15. In DCS, the power to weight ratio is what matters the most. So the quantity of fuel in each plane is very important. For example, the P51, in real life, would fly very long missions, in DCS, not so much. So if you have a very light P51 you could outmaneuver a fully fueled 109, easily.
  16. You can also check the energy-maneuverability theory, it's quite interesting.
  17. The point is, it's either speed or maneuverability.
  18. The Mach number doesn't tell all the truth.. as I said. It's a bit more complicated than that.
  19. You cannot compare the performance of 2 planes just by TAS or IAS.. you need EAS. It's more complicated than you think..
  20. Very fast at low Mach??? What are you talking about..?
  21. Aerodynamically speaking, it's either high speed or good maneuverability as the laws of physics doesn't allow them both. What we see in DCS is just a point of view of somebody and doesn't mimic the reality, at all. For that, we need serious computing power.
  22. A dogfight is NOT a turn fight, but a close range fight. If I have superior energy in the Dora or the Anton, I can fight a Spit at very close range, otherwise, I don't fight at all. That is true for all aircrafts, as a matter of fact. Being unable to extend because of lack of power, that is another story. You can do only one attack from above and then extend to safety to live another day. Well, I don't always do that.. :)
  23. Exactly! Let's hope that it's not the final version of it..
