But when you fly them, in IL2, you rapidly feel disappointed of the FM. I still give this to ED as having the best FM of both, I have other things to object to ED, but that's a different story. With time, as more planes and assets will be added, the atmosphere of WWII will come close to the opposition, no doubt.

You also cannot model bad ergonomics of all allied planes.. especially the Spit.

After the latest update that brought some bugs for ALL Axis planes, people kind of ditched it..

What makes the P51 draggier at high speeds is the sudden change of shape in cross section due to those radiators. The smoother this change is the less parasitic drag it has, just like Dora. And btw, the wetted surface of Dora's wings is.. elliptical. We don't want to start the Clmax discussion again.. don't we? :)

There's a weird head translation when you look left and right. The pilot bangs his head against the glass and looks into the lateral bars. ED could fix that and make it like in any other plane..

If this is done by ED knowing that people will complain then it's either malevolence or lack of professionalism. Nothing more to say here..

Hello devs, I hereby announce you that the P51 does NOT wobble nor wiggle upon taking the slightest damage just like Dora, Anton and K-4. You probably forgot to add it. Thanks!

I have the same issue. You can't save the default FOV (or zoom), but you can save the head position in the cockpit. Check the SnapViews.lua in your user config folder. The workaround is to decrease the Y saturation for Zoom View axis. I filed a bug report in Dora section for that, but no answer yet. That won't happen for example, in Su-27 and probably on the FC3 planes which still use Server.lua for default FOV.

You cannot bring down more than 2 allied planes using all ammo on them, with both Dora and K4. It's just silly.. and I really hope it won't take another 3 years until the next update on the DM too.. Sent from my Redmi 5 using Tapatalk

That's not proven.. even today. If you've heard about Strega Air Racer then you should know they're using modern type cooling for their P51, with different ducts and longer scoops and actually that's a well kept secret. I feel you mate.. It's the 'wiggle fest' at the Axis. I, too, believe that ED is mocking us.. at least, it feels so. I wonder that the devs are menatlly sane to release the axis planes in this condition, when they know that all wwii servers are on OpenBeta. Sent from my Redmi 5 using Tapatalk

It seems that it has something to do with the engine being damaged.. It happens in the Dora too, but with no pilot black-out just a lot of shaking that I can feel in the FFB stick.

Laminar flow is just.. in theory. In practice you cannot achieve it, it's more like a holy grail in aerodynamics. The degree of cross section changes is what matters, and P51 is the worst..

Does it happen to P51 and Spit? I haven't noticed.. yet..

I saw white tracers mixed with yellow tracers when I chose HE on Dora.

When the engine quits it stops shaking, so I don't know..

After this update (05.20.2020) I noticed a change in the damage model of Dora. It shakes after taking damage and the controls become 'numb'.

From two years now.. is still 'around the corner'. We deserve an answer from ED, out of mutual respect.. maybe?

Assumption is the mother of all failures. Currently, the Spit can fly without tail or wings. P51 can take infinite damage and flies even better after that. So, saying this is the new DM is nonsensical. Don't try to make this trivial because it isn't. These issues are here for quite some time and we didn't just invent them.
