I don't think it was a lack of understanding, but lack of technology to model the view correctly, as from a pure schematic point of view, the bar is "correct". Maybe it got lost in translation, but why is a compromise not an option? After all the current state is from a pilots perspective just as false as the proposed compromises are to the schematics. I think this would end the dispute until the rendering of refraction is actually an option and all aircraft get it modelled.

Sadly most modules are able to do this when they just got released. Let's see how stuff works out when the new DM gets released.

The Normandy map has been patched once since the 2.5 Release over a year ago and barely scratched the surface of the issues this thing has. Still, early access and not even a single comment from their part on it. This is the prime example of bad customer treatment. So bear with us, if we dare to complain about anything here.

In my experience, I sometimes survive a missile hit and lose control over the aircraft overtime or I go down immediately. However, I still think it can take more punishment than the others but I can't confirm that missile hits aren't leather to that thing. You maybe have the chance to fire your ordinance in pitbul before going down, but that's it.

Well there are all kinds of things that don't suit every bodies personal preference. If the aircraft behaved that way, it should do so in a simulation. I don't see why your sensitivity on the matter should play any role in this discussion.

Nobody should even need a book / manual for this, as it's pretty common knowledge that this thing didn't have, nor is trim any kind of must have for a plane.

Auto rudder is for people that don't have paddles, to ease up on take off, as twist sticks may not be precise enough to deal with engine toque appropriately, what could make the aircraft unusable for some customers. It does not add a control feature that the plane did not have, unlike an auto trim features, which is something you may find in more modern aircraft. Auto trim would also make it easier to aim than it actually was. I don't think that this aircraft should have some kind of advantage, that it simply didn't have for the sake of user-friendliness. I16 pilots were completely exhausted after patrols, as staying in formation without trim required them to constantly apply force to the stick. It was a serious drawback of the aircraft.

At this point everything, apart from the 3d model, is ridiculous about the B17. Damage model, gunners with laser guided accuracy and massive FPS drops when performing strategic bombing. We're sadly a long way from a releasable state of the asset pack.

Why not both? :music_whistling: The servers have to decide how to make this balanced. Some slot blocking scripts to make sure the best versions don't get selected all the time would come to mind.
