RAF Hospital Akrotiri and Bloodhound Missile Site SW of RAF Episkopi
Napa replied to crazyeddie's topic in Wish List
Also the 360 skyscraper right in the middle of Nicosia was constructed a couple of years ago. The map is 2020. We are just pointing out a few more things. If they decide to add them, it will only make it better, if they don't, it won't make that much of a difference, it's still quite amazing. -

I agree on this one. All huge landmark buildings should be there. And not just on Cyprus, but all around the map. I haven't spend a lot of time on the map but was actually surprised to see a lot of real life landmarks. Even my home town between Larnaca and Ayia Napa was present and quite accurate as well But, there are still some missing. E.g. Nicosia walls A lot of football fields are missing, but at least 2-3 large ones should be added. Nicosia old airport, even though it's not used right now, it should be added as a real airport to simulate other scenarios. The elevation map is still quite "soft" in my opinion. There are areas that look somewhat weird because the elevation is not quite there yet. Larnaca Airport hangar missing Lastly, some military hangars in Pafos airport are quite inaccurate. I won't comment on the north side of the island since I've never been there. Hopefully Ugra still has plans for more improvements. They have done an outstanding job so far and despite of the quirks here and there, it's certainly more than we ever asked for. Cyprus could very well be a map of it's own if it didn't had such a close proximity to Syria. -
Looks like someone from Ugra visited the island for some holidays Looks awesome! Most of the buildings are whiter though and not so yellowish/brown/beige.
-
True that! I had no crashes so far. Started and exited the mission 5-6 times with no crash, not fps drop, no stuttering. Looks like Stable might get updated soon.

The question is when it's the latest year that we can realistically simulate in DCS? 2009 or 2010?? The latest A-10C II should be circa 2010, but I'm not sure.

I know right! Never in a million years I would imagine this.

On another note, since Cyprus will be added on Syria map in a future update, is also now a coalition. Thank you ED for adding my country as well.

@MAESTR0 Awesome work guys!!! We love those small details and custom buildings. Even the tower at Nicosia (which is fairly new, construction was done a few months ago) is modelled at a great detail. And Pentadaktylos mountain range in the background looks very accurate as well. Looking forward to see how the rest of the island turned out.

Saw the same bug as well.

It felt a big "heavier" at times so definitely there were some changes with drag

Forums: Everyone's waiting for clouds. Me: I'm curious to see whether UGRA releases the expansion of Syria map. Also me: Too busy with work, will spend 5 minutes looking at it and then turn it off

Revised cockpit 3D model mesh and textures using the latest engine advancements Adding NS 430 Navigation System as part of the 3D model.

At least a quick and dirty cold start video would be nice.

Pre-ordered! Its a no brainer for this module. 30% off is quite reasonable too.

If you are talking about dragging the mouse to a selection box to select multiple units at once without individually clicking at each one then... Yes I agree. Given the complexity of different units, it might be tricky. However, allowing a selection box only for static objects for example it would be a huge addition to make mission building faster.

The ones on this chart will mostly be used by the majority of players. No 44. I'm not sure which is this one. It could be that small heli base on the hill outside Episkopi. What's missing from the list: - is the airbase in Krini/Pinarbas. Which is located few kilometers north of Nicosia airport. (this is added according to the screenshot by ED) - The Mammari airstrip located 3-4 Km in the west of Nicosia airport. (this is not added and shouldn't be. It's just a dirt runway. Don't know what is used for) - The Marki field. This is just for motor paragliders and RC aircraft. It doesn't have any strategic value. https://www.google.com/maps/@35.0162197,33.3112497,323m/data=!3m1!1e3 - The small airfield just south of Kingsfield that I mentioned in my previous post. - There are also 2 strips of emergency runways: You can see the small tarmac and runway markings if you zoom in close enough. These can have some significant strategic importance, since they can be used by the CNG (Cyprus National Guard) as FOBs in case the Turks decide to capture the rest of the island one day. a) motorway of Nicosia - Limassol just outside Kornos. https://www.google.com/maps/@34.9194109,33.4078527,2698m/data=!3m1!1e3 b) motorway of Larnaca - Limassol just outside Kofinou. https://www.google.com/maps/@34.8369796,33.4171039,2590m/data=!3m1!1e3 The ones that I saw on screenshot are more than enough for us to enjoy the island I think If they decide to add a few more, they are most certainly welcome.

But it's so tiny that only helicopters and small GA aircraft can land on it. Last time I remember seeing it being used was 15 years ago. Don't think the Brits still use it. https://www.google.com/maps/@34.9938954,33.7496776,641m/data=!3m1!1e3

Also, just pointing out to UGRA media not to forget the helo base just outside Episkopi https://www.google.com/maps/@34.664917,32.7838097,725m/data=!3m1!1e3

Yeah, but you can't do that on mobile though, which is one of the reasons they've upgraded to a newer forum engine.

Not sure if this is mentioned anywhere, but a Got to Top button on the lower right side in the forums it would go a long way when we have pages that "spread for miles".

I remember buying Digital Integration's Front Line Fighters for MS DOS/Windows back in the 1998 with all three F-16, Apache and Hind. The two of them also featured Cyprus and Israel as maps. So true, the stars are definitely re-aligning

Santa came earlier this Christmas! Merry Christmas to everyone at ED team.
