  1. Praetorx, at what altitude are your targets located? There is a known bug with release in CCRP mode of the CBU-97, it might be that it also affects the 87? (Good description of the erroneous behavior can be found here)
  2. Sorry, no that is not correct. As Eddie explained here, ripping your wing off in a dive bombing run is most likely due to over-G from a violent escape maneuver. The drag chutes are deployed after the bombs have cleared the aircraft. Moreover, high drag bombs are IIRC specifically meant to be used in CCIP mode, lowering the minimum safe altitude for release by quickly putting distance between the bomb and the aircraft. But anyway, the discussion was about the CBU-87, which IMO does not belong the category high drag bombs.
  3. Good series by Tyger_104th, although from the open beta: http://youtu.be/V1IoF2xKBCI http://youtu.be/c6b8-omBruE http://youtu.be/25MgpCEe114 And a nice demo by Fish (gerryabbott):
  4. Britt007 (and anyone else who might be interested), Have a look at the attached version, I created a macro file, added more comments to the code and generally cleaned it up. It should be much more readable now. I also updated the Thrustmaster Combined.lua to fix a minor issue with the speedbrake and added my keyboard.lua as well, because it seemed not to correspond to the default anymore. Happy flying! :joystick: TM_Warthog_Profile_DCS_A-10C_V1.2.zip
  5. exactly.
  6. LOL, yes that's correct. It's a feature, not a bug  line 102: RotateDXAxis(DX_X_AXIS, DX_Y_AXIS, -15); //simulate a -15 deg twisted centred stick for the A-10. That's exactly what you're describing. You can comment it out by writing // in front of the line and the stick rotation will be zero, i.e. no X movement, when you move Y and vice versa. Note that, with line 102 active, if you move the stick up at a 15° angle to the right, there will be pure Y-axis movement. I have detached the baseplate from the stick and bolted it to my chair like the real A-10 controller. To avoid having to twist your hand AND still let the stick axes coincide with the aircraft (= chair+desk) orientation, Thrustmaster has kindly provided the function RotateDXAxis(axis1,axis2,angle). Just play around with the possibilities and read the TARGET manual, it provides for very powerful scripting. I barely scratched the surface with that script.
  7. Look in my sig... I use the LEDs to indicate the current curve. It's not on different layers at the moment but cycled using the pinky paddle + S1, but you could easily change that.
  8. You have lightning in your room, that sounds pretty dangerous... doctorpirate, if you want more functionality from the TM Warthog, have a look at the TARGET profile in my sig. It contains some features like in-flight curve switching, Track-IR control, Teamspeak press to talk, Stick axes rotation to use as a center stick (I attached it to my chair) These things aren't possible using in-game mapping. The downside is, you have to load the profile each time using the TARGET script editor.
  9. There you have it.
  10. Thanks for the help spikenet. But after including those .lua files and manually editing the freqs in the folders UHF, VHF_AM and VHF_FM, it still doesn't seem to work. I'll attach the resulting .miz so you can check what I did. The Shore 01.miz
  11. Hmmm, wenn I do the prepare mission thing, it loads ok, I set my radio presets and hit esc and then quit. But then I get a crash message: I get back to the ME and save, but the presets aren't there in the mission  What am I doing wrong?
  12. Thanks Eddie, I thought I checked the ME, but might have overlooked that function:doh:. I'll try it out asap!!
  13. Hey guys, I searched the forums up and down with all sorts of keyword combinations, but couldn't find the solution for this. Also, I searched all the .lua files, ME and opened .miz files without success. I'd like to set the radio channels pre-mission, either in the ME, the mission planner or per lua editing if necessary, as if the ground crew did it for me when I get into the cockpit. Anyone know how this can be done? (Or if it is simply not possible by design, then I could stop looking :P)... Cheers
  14. At this point it might help to select your sidewinder as SOI and slave it to the TGP using China Hat Forward long. The seeker symbology on the HUD would then move in the direction of the TGP-locked target and you can follow to align the nose with it. Not perfect (only works if there is a sidewinder left), but still...
  15. Oh sorry, I missed the other thread http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=85414 which notes exactly this point. Ok, never mind, it appears to be a known issue, so it's being worked on I hope...
  16. I totally agree with Speed about the awesomeness of the weapon and its modeling. I just had a problem with the aiming in CCRP mode: HOF set to 2600 lined up with an armored column and SPI set in the middle of it the column was stationary approach flown level at about 9000 ft AGL the bomb pickled ok as the release cue crossed the pipper I watched it with F6 view going nicely at the SPI, but... as the BLU-108s deployed their parachutes they fell far short of the target and failed to find the vehicles there was no wind Questions: Doesn't the CCRP computation take into account the submunition trajectories? It seems to have released the CBU-97 for a low drag trajectory. Have I missed something in the profile settings or HUD? Or should the pilot manually correct using the SPI? That seems a little inaccurate and missing the point of CCRP bombing... Sorry, I didn't save the track. I'll see if I can reproduce this next flight.
  17. Thanks PeterP, both the menu and NVG tips were very helpful. I edited my FOV bounds before, but the default zooming out after mission start remains annoying, can that also be eliminated in the SnapViewsDefault.lua?
  18. No need for confusion: What you write there is correct. The ME uses the reverse convention from the aviation point of view. Probably the guy programming it had more of a physics background where vector fields have arrows pointing in the direction of flow. Aviation uses the meteorology mindset, which probably inherited the "blowing FROM" convention from sailing, where people have always been interested in where the wind comes from. Who cares where it goes after it passes your ship? :D
  19. Serial #: 00193 Location: Germany
  20. Another related issue: My campaigns have been reset after I installed the latest version (1.1.1.1) coming from 1.1.0.9. (I did a complete reinstall to avoid patch issues.) I copied the logbook file, but that only got my pilot with his accomplishments back, but not the campaign progress. Does anyone know which other files should be copied to restore the campaign state to my latest mission? Thanks, Mark
  21. The importance of AWACS will undoubtedly rise though with the release of DCS:<US fixed-wing fighter>
  22. With a couple of Zeuses and/or MANPADs around better exchange real for dumb/dead (pick whichever you like).;)
  23. Yeah, yeah. Calm down. I've been flying black Shark again, where yawing while firing makes perfect sense. That must have scewed up my thoughts. You're right about the GAU-8, although I recall instances where some missalignment w.r.t. a column can be compensated for with the rudder (PAC disengaged). I'm talking about very careful inputs here. Also, the PAC has limited control authority and may start wandering off target if the trimming is off e.g. by increasing speed during a dive. With some minor constant rudder input you can adjust the aim to keep the pipper on target. Pointing the nose with pitch and roll is all fine for setting up an attack, but yaw is the missing angle for minor adjustments. You won't have time to roll and pitch at the last instant when the target drifts sideways. That's where, for me at least, rudder pedals are essential.
  24. Well, I'm at work now, so I can't give you screenshots, but check out My TM Warthog Profile. I run the .tmc in the Script Editor before starting DCS and never had any crash with it.
