  1. When was it that we ignored it. I said already we are on it, we tried changing collision lines naming convention but it didnt work so we keep looking for a solution.
  2. Heavent heard anything on those yet. External sounds were priority this time since we were stuck with P-51 placeholder sounds since November due to certain bug.
  3. I will check it next time I'm able to log some hours online.
  4. New set of external sounds has been implemented internally last week, but didnt make it with latest patch. Should be there next time.
  5. I was talking from a workload perspective, not a user. We know its important for you, thats why it was added on top.
  6. Yeah, I've seen it. 2200 Mhz on core, that is insance going from 1800 stock. My 1080Ti can be OCed to 2020 Mhz tops by comparison, no matter how much voltage I pump, it crashes at higher clocks. So 2200 Mhz Vega VII must produce interesting results.
  7. I'm sorry guys that it looks like so, but we're still looking into it. We've recently fixed collision lines' naming convention as a part of that investigation, which doesnt seem to have done much to this specific thing. We've also noticed that we may not be the only ones affected by the issue judging from some hoggit posts and videos like this ( ), which may indicate that this is a broader problem. In any case, this is an issue that is still WIP. Once I will have something new to write about, I will update you without hesiation.
  8. Canopy is really a side feature, not sure about textures. Its a substantial shape change of some parts of it, realignment, repositioning etc. Its explained in most recent development update. The only person who knows what's to be expected as a final result is Rudel, since he is working on actual references and some laser scanning for those areas.
  9. Oh I just plan to do 90 % of the stuff on the monitor and rest like playing DCS or other sims on the TV.
  10. Glad to hear Jumbik. Also, I see you run multiple displays. How does that work with AMD ? I plan to keep my current monitor as primary display for anything but games and add 55" Tv for eye candies in games. Is setting up multiple displays with AMD easy ? Also, I think I just maxed my VRAM usage too. Recording at 3440x1440p with very high settings and OBS (65000 bit rate) I've reached 11195 Mb of GPU memory usage according to MSI afterburner. That Radeon VII looks more and more appealing.
  11. I see, I was more pointing towards Nvidia vs AMD picture quality. Ive heard that for years and it turned out to be true in some games, in some AMD had sharper picture in others Nvidia provided better expeirence. So I was asking whether there is any merit to that story in DCS.

    Guns?

We can paint AIM-9s under wings ? Would that suffice ?
  13. Yeah, yesterday ww2 mission at 1440p consumed 10.1 Gb of Vram. I am more and more inclined to believe that this 16 Gb in case of demanding scenarios in DCS is not an overblow. Fredm, do you use the same display for both gpu's ? I have recently heard that not only performance can differ but also picture quality at the same settings, and in some games AMD picutre looks sharper with textures better processed. Have you noticed anything like that ?
  14. I'll ask. There is some reshaping with fuselage itself and of course cockpit rework will require external adjustments as well, which of has an impact.
  15. Yeah, ultrawide obviously creates some trouble. I've heard there are some plans to get 5120x2160 (UWUHD) but I doubt there is any hardware atm that could give a reliable framerate in DCS at such resolution. Great, thats exactly what I wanted to hear. Once I get RVII and TV I hope same FPS will be achievable. How is the picture at such settings ? I assume x2 MSAA is enough and everything looks sharp, without any jagged edges ?
  16. I think you cant use SSAA cause of 4k. I only have x1.5 option, 1080p guys have x2 as well. You cant upscale the picture at this point when you have 4k. SSAA is definitely a performance killer in combination with MSAA. I dont even dare x4 MSAA. But I cant decide whether MSAA x4 is better or MSAA x2 + SSAA x1.5 First one keeps my FPS closer to 100, whereas latter around 60 - 90.
  17. This are my current graphics options: Feel free to try them, though I dont think you will need SSAA having 4k resolution.
  18. I use at 1440p and MSAA x 2 with SSAA x 1.5 and it works smooth, in between 50 to 80 FPS. And with 35" panel I feel like a bit of AA is needed, so maybe at 4k as well ?
  19. Hard to judge, by that picture you have 49 FPS. But that external view. Now jump into the pit and bench it. Better even, try flying online. You're running game at 4k, so having around 50-60 FPS is optimal with current generation of monitors. However, I wonder if by cutting down shadows to flat, removing motion blur and lens / flare you can get more than 60, hopefully closer to 100. And if additional tweaking in Radeon control panel has any impact on DCS. I have 2700X running at 4.4 Ghz, faster ram than you so how much would that benefit FPS.
  20. Why cant we just go back to Normandy than ? There is a number of airfields around, you can even leave a few spots in Britain. Precisely. I'm in the same situation 1440p ultrawide and spectacles. Previous dots were for me better and more effective. I wonder how it will look at 4k on a TV.
  21. Seems like recent drivers fixed overclocking or at least made it easier. GPU default clock speeds are around 1750-1800 Mhz for core. And I'v been seeing overclocking scores on a few forums (and now video) of 2050 - 2150 Mhz. Once this 7nm process matures, it seems it will give a lot of room for OC.
  22. Unfortunately not all of us benefit from perfect eyesight, some use glasses or lenses. Furthermore there is a hardware factor, where spotting at increasing resolutions becomes worse and worse. This current "dot" on my system is barely visible and appears far after I've picked contact so its near useless at 1440p. Im sure others experience it differently. I'd prefer a tiny bit larger one but I guess due to how people oppose even current one it may be best to settle with what we have. On the other hand I cant say a good word about current mission. I though Eekz came up with something new, but it seems a copy&paste of the old ACG mission. Even if straight line distance has increased between the two airfields (Kutaisi and Kobuleti), the perceivable distance is actually shorter. There are no natural barriers between the airfields (like the mountain range running from Novo to Anapa) so you just take-off, climb straight ahead and merge in furball somewhere. Whole experience feels dumbed down to war thunder, where it should be the opposite. And the ending result is that 109s push the furball over the airfield. The only airfield, like we couldnt get more than one airfield per side just to prevent being locked on one. I'm sure thats what satisfies few fighting for the stats, but it couldnt be any further from realistic, historical and immersive experience.
  23. Oh yes, if i were to buy it, I intend to swap cooler for a waterblock once any decent would arrive. As for second part. That's cause they used their coolers previously designed for nvidia gpus. So no wonder asus or gigabyte have issues.
  24. I know, but as Ive said, my warranty is running out so if anything happens to the gpu I will have to resort to buying a new one anyway. And yes, it is a sidegrade. Disappointing it is that my 2 year old gpu delivers more punch than new RTX 2080 and has more VRAM, so for at least another year or more we're still going to have performance on the same level as we do for the past 2+ years. I dont consider RTX 2080Ti to be a viable option due to extreme pricing of it. The offered performance improvement is not worth the added cost if compared to 1080Ti. So yes, Radeon VII is a sidegrade unfortunately.
  25. I second that. Had Fury before this 1080Ti and my driver experience was very good. Quite frankly, after switching to nvidia I've considered driver side of things a downgrade. My 1080Ti warranty will run out in June. If only Radeon 7 was a bit faster and had HDMI 2.1 I'd gladly dump 1080Ti and buy it.
