Nevada 2.02 Custom Mission Question
Justificus replied to Justificus's topic in User Created Missions General
Hmmm, I guess this was too silly a question. Nothing I've tried seems to get them to take off. I am able to get them to spawn and start up but then they just sit there. I've moved them to different locations, I even tried deleting one and re-doing it, same behavior... Although one plane did actually start to move toward the runway and got about half way before just stopping and sitting there. This has got me totally stumped. EDIT: Well, it was a stupid question. Somehow, with the last update, the mission parameters got changed and the external views was switched off on me! Never had that happen to me before so I didn't even consider looking... Lesson learned. :) -
Crap, just noticed this and am a bit late to the saying thanks party. Thanks! Having that date there really helps me figure out whether I need to download the latest version of one of your great guides. S!

I'm one of the more fortunate ones to not have any real issues (at least not with my custom mission I made previously) with the latest release, except one thing that I've noticed with this mission is that some of my triggers/spawned planes don't work like they used to. They spawn at the right time when the trigger fires but then they just sit there like they have no waypoints/orders. Any idea how to get them to work again? Hopefully you're not going to say delete them and recreate all the waypoints/actions for them again, i.e. redo the mission. Any tips would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

That's a good suggestion, gerd! +1 please. :)

Complete Transport and Logistics Deployment - CTLD
Justificus replied to Ciribob's topic in Scripting Tips, Tricks & Issues
No worries, mate. Thanks for the heads up as I haven't gotten time to play with 1.5.3 yet. Looking forward to it along with your lastest version. -
Sweet! Come on, hurry up and take my money!!! ;)

I've only been focusing on the Nevada map and the Huey, at least at Nellis, has always just lifted off from where I place it. The Mi-8 will mostly taxi. It seems more helo dependent than anything else from my casual observations.

You need to bind the key to your DCS World account here: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/personal/licensing/ Then use the Module Manager to install the product.

You should have received an email by now if you have subscribed to the newsletter, if you haven't, then go to your account here and check the box to subscribe so you won't miss anything and won't have to look here for the info. This was the last one sent out this past Friday: F-15C 16-2 Red Flag Campaign Available Starting today, the F-15C 16-2 Red Flag Campaign is available for purchase and download from: F-15C 16-2 Red Flag Campaign Note that this campaign requires ownership of either Flaming Cliffs 3 or F-15C for DCS World, along with the DCS: NEVADA Test and Training Range map. For those that pre-purchased the Nevada map and elected to receive this map for free, you will now be able to activate this campaign from the DCS World 2.0 Module Manager. The F-15C 16-2 Red Flag Campaign is a depiction of flying the F-15C Eagle during a typical Red Flag exercise in the skies over Nevada. This campaign includes extensive briefing, map, and lineup card PDF files for each mission and was designed in consultation with the renowned author Steve Davies, the authority on the F-15C. All of the missions are based on input from real F-15C pilots that have flown in Red Flag exercises and will provide you a challenge that will test even the most skilled virtual pilots. Video: F-15C and Nevada Map Bonus Event To kick off the release of the new F-15C Red Flag campaign, we are offering you 50% off both modules using available bonus points. This bonus event will run Friday, January 15th at 1500 GMT and lasting until Monday, January 18th at 0900 GMT. Purchase from: F-15C for DCS World and DCS: NEVADA Test and Training Range Map DCS: NEVADA Test and Training Range Map Update We continue working on improvements to the Nevada map that includes fixing bugs and implementing new features. The following will be available in the coming months: Add Tonopah Air Force Base Add additional casino/hotels to the Las Vegas strip Add additional airfields and landing strips to the central (detailed) portion of the map Add the National Training Center (NTC) Improved grass and ground clutter Other smaller improvements When these additional features are added and the module is final, the cost of the map will likely increase. However, these new features will be free to those that already own the map. Sincerely, The Eagle Dynamics Team

Buzzles, thanks, I was editing my post when you replied. I found out how to apply it but I'm not able to apply the full 50% bonus points like I'm supposed to be able to for this sale...
-
This is the first time I've had some bonus points to spend and thought I would use them toward the F-15 RF Campaign that is currently on sale allows you to use your bonus points for up to 50% off. My question is how to I use them? I added the campaign to my cart but see no option to apply the bonus points. It's probably right in front of my face but I'm having a brain fart moment and would appreciate a little help. Thanks!:helpsmilie: EDIT: Never mind, I just spotted another thread with a similar question and found the answer there! Though it's only 20% not 50% off as stated in the email newsletter... Any reason why I can't use all 50% of bonus points toward the purchase like I'm supposed to be able to?

Excellent! Thank you sir.

Quick question for you smart LUA/ME guys out there. I have used this script in one of my missions I'm creating and would like to modify this to have it work with AWACS planes as well. Knowing nothing about LUA scripting at all, looking at what has been posted in the first mission, do I only need to change the name of the "groupName =" line in the 2nd script? I looked in the first script for any specific plane type but couldn't find it so I'm assuming that it will work with any plane that you use and insert the groupName there? Is that how this works? If not, is there an easy way for me to get this to work with an E3? Thanks for any tips/insight you can give!
-
No problem and glad it was an easy fix! Oh, I thought you were only trying to have them on the FARP, not land and take off, too. If you're wanting them to stay parked until a specific time then triggers are in order once again. Anyway, welcome to the wonderfully intricate depth of the Mission Editor, enjoy your mission making! ;)

Hey, I'm not great with the ME myself but as far as #3, what I would do is create a trigger for them to take off if a particular unit is inside its' zone. Pick a until that will never get inside it's zone and it will never take off. Hope you understand what I'm talking about here... Not sure about the first two as I have seen that nor tried to add more than 2 helos myself... Hopefully someone else will chime in.
