I have to admit that the release of a campaign and training missions has re-newed by interest in the Mirage. I'm just coming up on my two year anniversary as a DCS player and the bulk of my time has been spent in the A-10C. Not because it's my favorite plane by any means, but because of the wealth of content. I have come to realize that a good campaign is necessary to really enjoy a module (at least for me). The addition of voiced training missions and a well made campaign means we finally have a good alternative to the A-10C if we want a really good single player experience. Having a true sense of purpose makes the game alot more immersive than just playing the standard single player missions. For me the Mirage was just lifted to the top in DCS. Thanks for the hard work!

Ahh, I think you solved it. It's true that I set it up on the ground and probably the Tacan signal wasn't received. I will test again, and I'm sure it will work!

Thanks for your reply, but actually this was all set up on the F10 map and not in the editor. I'm still a bit puzzled about why it didn't work.

So I decided to test some navigation in the M-2000C and set up the following: 1) Started from Nellis (instant action "Cold start"). 2) Input my position in the INS and did a full INS alignment. 3) Set Tacan 87X (Creech). 4) Made an offset 39nm to bearing 350 degrees from Creech to end up exactly at Groom Lake. Only problem is I didn't end up at Groom Lake since the HSI needle was pointing probably 20 degrees wrong. The HSI mode was set to VAD. What did I do wrong?

I saw the christmas tree! I had forgot about this, and sat at home working (on the countryside 50km from Gothenburg), when I heard a loud roar. I looked out my window and there it was! Twelve Gripens in a nice tree formation heading towards Gothenburg. Very cool. :)

A lot of new screenshots have been added to Cobras 1st post in this thread. Some amazing shots of details in the cockpit. I think LNs texture work is the best of all developers, even better than ED themselves. Just out of this world.

It looks amazing! What I really like is the fact that they seem to understand the need for actual content to be delivered with the module. Learning a module is fun but employing the plane in a well crafted combat scenario is what really takes a module to the next level.

Right now looking forward to the AJS-37 Viggen the most. It looks like it will drop soon, and I think it will be pretty special.

Great, thanks!

Is anyone else having problems with this mission? My wingmen often crash into each other when taxing and blow up. Also I've run into the problem of another flight before me just getting stuck and not moving onto the runway...

Yes, I think you're correct. Most probably have it mapped to one button for open and one for close. I think I will do that too. When it comes to lead calculation (or not) in DG mode I have to make some tests to see how it behaves. The quick radar lock and lead calculation would indeed make for a very useful mode.

After looking through the manual it seems this is how it should work. 'B' is a toogle key that runs through the three different positions of the speedbrake switch: in, neutral and out. Therefore it makes sense that the key has to be pressed twice each time you want to change the speedbrakes. Strange though that I'm the only one that have noticed it...
-
Just tested in 2.0 and same there, two presses to cycle speedbrakes (verified from F2 view). I've mapped 'B' key to "Speedbrake switch cycle". Should be correct right?

Thanks for the reply. I edited my post (made a new point 3) so that the questions you answered are actually 1, 2, 4 and 5. Sorry about that. Very strange about the elevation control. It's extremely sensitive. Just a quick tap to reach its end points. Also, are you sure that you don't have to tap the 'b' key several times? I always have to double tap it to maneuver the airbrakes. It's been like this since I bought the module (several months).

I have a couple of questions regarding this very enjoyable module: 1) Do you usually use the radar to lock the target when engaging with missiles? Is there any real advantage to lock up the target, except for range calculation? 2) Do I have to lock up the target to get lead calculation when engaging with guns? How do I keep lock when engaging in a dogfight? 3) I'm a little confused about DG mode. In the tutorial it is said that the gunsight takes care of lead calculation and that I only need to keep the pipper on target. However, in the manual it says that "The pilot’s task in the DG mode is to place the reticle pipper forward of the target motion based on a lead angle.". It seems to me like conflicting information... 4) I have the radar elevation control mapped to one of the hats on my Warthog stick. However, it's extremely sensitive and moves so quickly that it's hard to use with any accuracy. Is this a bug? 5) I need to tap the 'B' key on the keyboard several times to extend or retract the airbrakes. Same question here, is it a bug?

Great! Thanks for the quick reply.

This question may seem stupid, but how is the radio used in air? The normal communications menu button is not working...

So, is this the new water effects and sky from Leathernecks upcoming Swedish map? :D

Jäklar! The tension is building up fast now! :shocking:

Seems I had old driver for the GTX. An update made a world of difference!

I have borrowed a Vive from work to test at home with DCS, but it really doesn't work very well. My computer is: i7 4970K GTX 980 SSD The problem is that it's almost impossible to get a judder free experience. For example when running DCS on my 1920x1200 monitor, starting at Groom Lake runway, all settings high, except Visibility Range and Shadows on low, I get ~200fps with Fraps. However, the same settings on the Vive results in judder/double vision when rotating my head. Even setting everything to low still results in judder. I've also tested 1.5 and I've managed to get rid of the judder by using the lowest settings possible and only fly over green hills with no trees. Then I get a perfectly smooth movement which feels amazing in comparison. But as soon as there are trees or inhabited areas it starts to judder. I feel something must be wrong here. Do people really play DCS like this in VR or is there some setting that I don't know of that gets rid of the juddering?

Thank you very much guys! I solved it with your help. :)

Recently I had the activation issue with the Mig-21. Problem is that when I have ran the registry fix I need my serial key, and I don't have it. I bought the Mig-21 for Steam, but I have since then switched to stand alone DCS version. I have uninstalled the Steam version of DCS so how can I get my key back? Do I have to buy the module again?:helpsmilie:

I think you're wrong. The Viggen will probably drop very quick. Maybe a teaser a short time before release, but that's it I think.
