  1. Is there even such a thing as a pylon that can mount twin Magic?
  2. At low level, and you have a MiG on your tail that is close and you want to get distance, best thing to do is to constantly use your roll and change direction, even at low speeds, the MiG cannot match the Saber. Past 300knts Saber is in a different league. Sabre has an amazing ability to change direction compared to the MiG at pretty much all speeds.
  3. F/A-18C is coming (potentially) within the next year.
  4. I'm pretty sure it was that the Su-33 will get PFM after Spitfire IX is released?

    S530 Range

Makes no sense for Cross sectional area of Super 530D to be bigger then the AIM-54 S 530D AIM-54 Diameter 263mm 380mm Wingspan 620mm 910mm
  6. Not at all. You don't know whether the pilot is referring to its CCM capability vs flares, its maneuverability, time it takes to achieve lock, off bore capability, or its drag profile. From the video posted before, the first 4 are way more important then the last one judging from the ranges. Something is probably wrong with the Cd of the Magic 2 however.
  7. F-14 was tested and mounted with AMRAAM, but in DCS chances are very high that we won't get it.

    S530 Range

Chaff in DCS seem to act like flares i.e. an emitter (look at R-27ER tracking first chaff deployed even though it's not in the STT beam anymore.)
  9. To me it looks as though the STR of the F-15C at 15,000ft should be better then the Mirage. Take the approximate midpoint of the values of 10,000ft and 20,000ft you come out at a STR of 13.5-14.0 deg/s at M0.9 and and 12.0-12.5deg/s at M0.7 at 15,000ft. I don't know why the F-15C is being compared to in the first place anyway *shrugs*
  10. I don't see much wrong with the F-15 based of this graph
  11. I would want the F-16 in DCS so that I don't spend half a day fighting an ancient UI and still finding out that my controls don't work how I want them to. And also it is the most proliferate 4th gen jet.

    Radar IFF

    1. AWACs is borked and so servers don't run AWACS 2. They need to be on voice comms first of all and even then, they may not respond especially if they are already in a dogfight. 3. Explain to me how you can tell the Difference between a BLUE F-15C and a RED F-15C on the 104th Server. Afaik the only differency is Blue has USAF insignia on Nose and RED has IAF isignia, which you can only tell when you are basically in formation flight

    Radar IFF

    That's because AWACS is broken.
  14. You can't. Onboard computer can hold data for only one bomb type.
  15. Technically the heart would be the PSU? since that is what supplies the energy to unit. You also shouldn't skimp on PSU, buy something with Japanese components, not Taiwanese/Chinese
  16. AMD architecture (Bulldozer, Pipedriver) cannot compete against older Intel architecture like Ivy Bridge (which were direct competitors at time of release in 2011/2012) Intel's chips architecture pretty much have shorter pipelines, more IPCs, smaller transistors (e.g. Ivy Bridge had 22nm transistors while Piledriver has 32nm) which leads to significant better performance/core Since DCS doesn't really take advantage of multi-core especially once you get past 2 cores, an Intel i5 Haswell/Skylake is the much better option. Alternatively you could wait till AMD Zen microarchitecture comes on the market and see how that compares to Intel's Kaby Lake in 2016. Both will have 14nm transistors and AMD have said that they have prioritzed single core performance in Zen.
  17. Avoid current AMD CPUs unless you are strapped for cash. Intel all the way for now. AMD GPUs are competitive with Nvidia GPUs.
  18. At a 30 degree dive angle? 100m and under
  19. I don't really see the MiG-21 as a dedicated dogfighter.
  20. Can't you technically use an A-10 to buddy laze?
  21. Well, Su-27 hasn't got any drop tanks so that one is easy.
  22. The position of the Bazooka-gunner seems precarious in relationship to the flamethrower solder.
  23. Are you setting the gear handle to neutral after you retract and extend it? Since that reduces hydraulic pressure.
  24. Well, the F-22 is like 2x more expensive then the F-35 is due to be by LRIP 15. Even in LRIP 8 F-35 is way cheaper then F-22. And there will be 12x more F-35 then F-22 in US service if orders aren't cut. And why the comparison to the F-22? F-35 won't replace F-22, it will be replacing F-16, AV-8B, F/A-18C http://nettsteder.regjeringen.no/kampfly/2015/04/20/moderne-luftkamp-the-right-stuff-top-gun-eller-noe-helt-annet/#more-1050
