  1. Re learning the Su-33 with the new flight model, is there a hard number on this somewhere? Hopefully with the update some more reading material will not be far behind because the only "Training" flight/video is very out dated :music_whistling:
  2. Video from ASC17 Showing US F/A-18 Shooting Down Syrian Jet https://www.liveleak.com/view?i=6b0_1505770330 Hopefully we get an "official" HUD video someday. Video is compressed and shaky at best.
  3. Illuminating radar of the MIM-23 Hawk?
  4. +1
  5. Ah! Got yah
  6. It is suppose to as far as I understand it. The det cord shatters the plexyglass before ejection unlike most jets that have rocket motors in the frames and use the airflow over the jet to throw the canopy clear.
  7. Will we get a modeled shattered canopy during ejection? I don't know how hard that would be?
  8. Today 16 years to the day an event that changed the world. Never forget. I still remember that day and where I was when I heard about it. Rest in peace to the 2,995 innocent lives taken and thank you to the emergency service workers that day.
  9. Just think we could recreate Chesley Sullenberger's famous water ditching with the A-10. "Were going to be in the huds...black sea"
  10. I bought mine directly from natural point as it was the cheapest (or so I thought) price for it, until I got hit with a 45$ customs fee.....
  11. Aw damn! that would have made a great Easter egg with fall coming up!
  12. Great article, thank you!
  13. Ah so my guess was right, very cool article about the X-47B in there as well. Thank you Sir!
  14. With the Hype on the F-14 and F-18 building up I was skimming through info on carrier landings and I notice this photo of an LSO holding something over his head. I know there will be people here that will know instantly but I have no idea. What the hell is that stick and button thing? Wave Off signal?
  15. I thought that was the whole point of these forums? Next you'll tell me there is dedicated bug threads and an FAQ. :music_whistling:
  16. WTF really? What are the odds of this exact kind of accident happening twice?.
  17. Yeah I don't have high hopes for this one at all especially with today's overpriced, over budgeted, lackluster, garbage releases. Top Gun was filmed at the right time for the right audience. I mean come on it is cheesy as hell but a Classic non the less. Top Gun 2 will be a repeat of Stealth minus Jessica Biel's sweet bod. This ones going down in a flat spin guaranteed. Now an Archer spoof I can get behind.
  18. What a coincidence Brian talks about it in this great presentation I watched today about his career getting shot down in nam, badly burned, rehabilitated and went on to fly the SR-71. Amazing story check it out!. 55.55 is the time of the story.
  19. Great pics, I think they where/are doing a tour it was in my home town of Sarnia, Ontario early this month, pitty I never made it out to see it.
  20. I particularly like the idea of a test pilot suggestion of rolling inverted, using g-force and cycling the landing gear lever in an attempt to get the lading gear retracted for a belly landing.
  21. I happened to stumble upon this on YouTube still watching but the beginning was so good I had to share. It was posted in 2015 so I don't know if its from a TV show or something. Its in Danish but there are English subtitles. Very interesting story.
  22. I think "Sometimes" Microsoft Windows in general gets an unfair bad rep after the disaster the was Vista. I was a XP hold out when Windows 8.1 was rolling out and had no intention of switching until I was forced to for driver support. I have to say allot of issues people have with Windows I do not have and the few minor annoyance can be quickly Googled for help. Windows 10 feels like a culmination of everything they did right with 7 and 8 and I am very happy with it. Is it perfictt? no far from it but hey...at least it aint Vista!
  23. Thanks for the new desktop background!
  24. +1 to the support!. Wow I had no idea it got this far. I have noticed in all the yt videos a vocal minority bashing everything in an nonconstructive manner. I love the update videos, if a drop in resolution and aspect ratio is what I have to "suffer" for the constant update videos so be it. Now that is not to say awesome scripted 1080p 60fps are not good or have there place or that the videos couldn't be improved in allot of ways but as I understand it Ron dose this on the side during development as GIFT to the community and I am thankful for that, it is one of the reasons I feel RAZBAM has made a name for itself in DCS. Anyways glad to see RAZBAM take it in strides and feel they handled it in a respectable manner. I look forward to the next video...and the next
  25. Yeah Canadian Forces back on "top". JTF2 gets pretty hushed so I am not surprised the details are not released, hopefully someday. In fact I am shocked they admitted they where in Iraq. On that point at these distanced it is far from a one shot one kill, I like tho think if it more as accurate suppressing fire. I believe the British chap who held the record before fired 9 times for two targets. Still an incredible feat.
