Screen and texture resolution where definitely limiting factors for 3D.

The Tac view recording is pretty clear, its just a bad release. I don't understand why this is such an issue for some, I hate admitting I am wrong 2 but take it on the chin and move on, that's the whole point, make mistakes learn from them and move on.

Has the change to DX11 not happened yet? or is it only 2.0? I am confused again :huh:

Lol something tells me that not the official procedure :thumbup:. Yeah ATC always been wonky. I usually just disregard it completely and act like i am at an uncontrolled airfield. Not great for immersion but o well. Hope the new ATC system ED's working on (I think there still on it?) will improve things.

If you got the time I sugest deleting your options.lua in C:\Users\USERNAME\Saved Games\DCS\Config And then fire up dcs and start turning on/up individual settings and then testing in game to see the FPS. There are also view distance and shadow mods I have had a little luck with personaly.

This horse has been beaten to death a thousand times over :lol:. I'ts actually one of the reason I chose an I5 4690k for my DCS pc...and got extra RAM when it was cheap. But I still get days where its unplayable and that can be so frustrating I stop playing for weeks sometimes untill a patch/driver fixes it (if its on there end) Like right now I only play 2.0 because 1.5 is unplayable unless I use a view distance fix and a few other things (which is banned in MP AHH!!) and I just dont care enough anymore to fiddle with the settings. Maybe when the new tech is done and things are mirged I'll go back and do a performance optimization

I also wonder as well. All my instruction came from you tube videos that people so lovingly put together and only used the manual to "fill in the gaps." As stated yes the English manual is woefully lacking in certain information and has not been updated since.....2014? to reflect the new changes, which is a shame as this is by far one of my most favorite aircraft.

Yup, I wish I could say I played the earlier titles but tbh I never heard of them till LOMAC (witch I played religiously for years) until I fell out if PC gaming for a long while (personal issues and such) When I first heard about Blackshark I was so bummed I couldn't get it then, but as things improved I was finally able to dip my toes into what it had transformed into DCS: World. So I can actually say...ED, LOMAC/DCS and its wonderful community...helped save my life in a way.

Same. I grew up with 2d sims like MSFS 5.1-95/98 and red baron(I know there are old timers here who remember punch card pcs but cut me some slack:thumbup:). I'm always amazed at how far graphics have come. I feel I was born at the right time for this. Hell my first gfx card I remember was a voodoo from 3dfx compared to today 900/1000 series Nvidia cards. On top of all that and now with Track IR and VR....the amount of immersion...reminds me of why I got into all of this, can;t wait to see what else comes up. PS: This probably belongs in the PC hardware/Chit Chat sub threads.

Same...not that it helps, every order I have place has gone through immediately. I usually pay with debit/visa credit card. The only time I ever had a problem was when NTTR first dropped but I think that was a server overload.

Dose it really matter? you don't have to be an F1 driver to appreciate cars. Having a passion for aviation, no matter what your background has always been a thing. Sure military experience has its benefits, especially applying for a job but in the end...

Joysticks is a topic that can and have taken up hundreds of posts by themselves. There are tons of online reviews for everything from the godly TM warthog to more then acceptable Logitech 3d. If this is your first time getting into flight simulators I recommend starting with something like the Logitech 3d or Thrust master T.Flight Hotas. If you want or have the extra $ you can step up to the X-55 witch I own but has its qwerks but all in all I like it. And if your serious and maybe a bit crazy :smartass: the Thrustmaster TM warthog is the "best" joystick around right now. Rudder pedals and Track IR are another accessory I would highly recommend, more so the Track IR as it is an indispensable accessory. I could never go back to using a hat switch.

Thanks Art dB shouldn't be much of a problem, I already have what I believe to be the first genuine Turbofans for a PC, cooler masters jetflo120 they seem to drown out everything else...but boy to they work good :thumbup:
