Tooltips too small at high resolutions
miguez replied to Nate--IRL--'s topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
See this. -
It looks like I could add the keyboard shortcuts to all the tooltips in the cockpit, like the following picture. I am wondering if anyone would be interested...? Best regards,

Hi Boulund, Thanks for doing this! It looks like this is another evidence of what a lot of people were saying in here, that the CPU seems to be more important to BS than the GPU. You can tell from your tests that your videocard overclocking got you some improvement, but compared to your first test, I bet the CPU is the one responsible for the huge jump!
-
First and foremost, we should probably find out what the real Shkval in the real helicopter does, perhaps it too only moves in two axes.
-
Hi Boulund, Awesome test, thanks! Did you by any chance do just the CPU or just the GPU, to see which one has a higher impact? That would be extremely interesting. Thanks again,

Hi viper3two, Lots of options, but the one that you might consider is to go to Vista. Some people see 50-100% increases, others only 3-4 fps. Just an idea.

Hi guys, I just ran a quick test and the white pointer and the heading bug behaved as expected, which is different than you described above. I set up a flight plan with 4 waypoints. THis means the PVI-800 would have 4 waypoints, and 2 airfields. I then fired up the simulation and sat on the ground at the origin airport. I cycled through all 4 waypoints with the PVI-800 in WPT mode, and the white needle swung to indicate the correct track, as per the flight plan, for each waypoint. It matched what the track was in the ABRIS. The heading bug swung to show the instantaneous heading to each of those waypoints, from my present position. I am guessing where people might get confused is when they look at the white needle. It has nothing to do with your present position, it simply indicates the track value for the selected leg. By the way, all of the above was without messing with magnetic variations. Let me know if you need more info. Best regards,

Not as far as I know. If you turn INU off, you'll lose pitch lines, and a couple of other pieces of information in the HUD, but the HUD still works.

RCtrl+Pause. Or use fraps.

Gents, In considering a HOTAS setup (I only have a MSFFB2 right now) I have narrowed it down to these two. I am looking for replies from people that have tried both and can do a comparison. Things like quality, response, number of buttons, etc., as they are a pretty big investment. Any information would help. Thanks,

Hi Alpinesun, This is a recorded bug, so no, there's no script editing that will fix it right now. Here's the bug thread: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=573867&highlight=view+bug#post573867

Grazie mille, worked great!

Hey guys, Searched, didn't find anything on how to actually select one of the installed skins. For example, I downloaded the New Years celebratory skin from DCS, but don't know how to select it in the game...? Thanks,

Hi Z, I don't quite follow your explanation above, can you elaborate, please? What is TD, and what do you mean by the "designate button", is that the lock button? Thanks!

Hi Diveplane, i still have my set of 3D glasses from about that time, 3 years ago. i used them with MSFS and they worked wonderfully. Looking at my plane from an external camera at 10,000 feet was awesome. Anyways, perhaps the technology has advanced enough so that these will be pretty effective. Time will tell.

Check this out. Definitely not a new idea, but interesting that NVIDIA is the one putting it out this time. I was wondering if anyone here knew if BS would work well with these, perhaps some of the ED team? Thanks,
-
I haven't tried this yet, but if it works, it would actually make sense, meaning when you are coming in onto the FARP, you should definitely have your Master Arm OFF. Having the laser off is a good safety measure too, I think.

Yep, ....Ka-50\\Config\Weapons

Hi guys, I have fps issues with the Vikhr and rocket smoke trails. Is there a way to modify those? Thanks,

Tooltips too small at high resolutions
miguez replied to Nate--IRL--'s topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Hi aledmb, Mine has both Russian and English localization texts in Hint_localizer.lua, so you might be able to change both. I have not found a way to increase font size yet. -

I haven't tried this myself, but you might want to edit Hint_localizer.lua, which is in ....\Eagle Dynamics\Ka-50\Scripts\Aircrafts\Ka-50\Cockpit, since it has all the tooltips in text format. You could then add the keyboard shortcut if desired. You might also look at clickabledata.lua in the same dir, it seems related. -
Yep, worked GREAT! Thank you!!!

Ha! Guess I should be paying attention to the signatures... ;)

Hi AirTito, Great input, just tested, and, as usual, you're right. Vapour, the Shkval still works, laser ranges to target, I can lock or not, even follow moving targets with the Weapons Control System switch to off, but the lights on those four buttons on the Targeting Mode Control Panel do not work. AirTito, what exactly are we turning on then when flipping the WCS switch to ON? Just those lights?
