Hmm, is it? It's guided passively by the target's heat signature, so no emissions from the missile which is how I understand active/passive. But maybe I'm wrong here. ;)

Yes you have to enable it with the IFF power switch (see pictures). For more details on the symbology (on locked targets) you might want to look at the manual pg 96/97. --

You also have to modify your lessons.lua in order for it to show up in the training tab. Otherwise you can always start it via "Mission" and selecting the corresponding path...

Also check if everything is alright with your throttle axis (axis tune function in the control setup).

Well this would be true for every airplane with a brake chute in game...
