  1. Well thanks for sending me on a google and wikipedia hunt. ;) This distance is about 18 Megaparsecs which easily lets yout reach other galaxies. And I'm not talking about the nearest ones. ^_^ And yes I'm bored. Thank you for asking. :)
  2. Yep. You can lock and everything. I attached a simple test mission. Just switch on radar (20mi range). Ground radar test.miz
  3. Oh yes, you have to be in the air. Radar is off on the ground because it's hazardous to the ground crew. There is an override switch somewhere but I'm not sure it's implemented. Edit: hm, radar is in fact not off as I can see contacts while sitting on the ground. Just the sweep indicator isn't showing until I'm airborne. There might be a small bug hidden in there somewhere.
  4. Hm, will the f-14 be the first mech in DCS? Seems legit.
  5. Glad I could help. :)
  6. Wow I just had a quick look as I don't own the module but this looks very very impressive. One of the best manuals in DCS. Other 3rd parties, take note!
  7. Guys calm down, they never said they would definitly do it that way. All they said was that they discussed it internally but nothing was set in stone. So please leave your pitchforks in the corner until the INS is actually implemented. ;)
  8. Wrong forum! Can a mod please move to bug section?
  9. I just noticed another probably related thing: When you overfly a waypoint heading 030 and the next one is 330 for example, the waypoint caret on the HUD points to the right side instead of the left. The same happens vice versa. The caret jumps to the correct side once the airplane's heading goes past north. For some reason the simulation really doesn't like going over that 000 heading. ^^

  11. Hm I asumed the strong jammer is the standard DCS one and the one we currently have in the Mirage, just without the effect on the radar. But maybe I am mistaken... You want total realism but all you write above is complete guesswork as well. We simply have no idea how this stuff works.
  12. The question is if there even is such a thing as different power settings for jammers in DCS. Judging by the comment that it would be a choice to have radar OR jammer (so no radar+weak jammer) makes me think there isn't. But maybe I'm just reading too much between the lines here. Why wouldn't the enemy be jammed?
  13. Well that's not the only side of the story. Maybe you should also include these posts: IMO the current ECM model in DCS is simply not strong and complex enough for such a feature to make sense.
  14. This thread has the initial discussion with zeus: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=156676
  15. It snaps to North. No AP Standby is involved. To reproduce: Instant Action Free Flight Day (1.5) Initial Heading is 035 Engage Autopilot (mode doesn't matter) Move Desired Heading Needle to 300 Once there immediatly change direction to 330 (while plane is still turning west) => Green needle snaps to 000 Observations: - This only happens when the green needle crosses the 000 heading, doesn't happen for example if you want to go from 150 to 200. - If you caused the bug (?) once it is then no longer needed to cross the 000 heading. It then happens across the whole HSI spectrum. - Maybe related to this? http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=157331 spidd
  16. Well it was always reversable. You just have to click the RP button a second time whether it is illuminated or dark and you get out of POL mode.
  17. I'm not sure that's the case since all these other issues can be cured by restarting DCS. This one doesn't. It simply switches to POL mode whenever you select RP button which it shouldn't.
  18. The question is: with the very simplified ECM model in DCS is it even possible to simulate different Jammer power outputs?
  19. Easy to reproduce: Just load any fuel tank. When in the air select RP button on PCA => Mirage automatically switches to POL mode (blinking on HUD when Master Arm off, steady when on). It only goes away when you deselect RP button. When you drop the tank, lights on RP button go out but although you can't see it it is still selected => click on the button to get out of POL mode.
  20. The memory alignment isn't half as unrealistic as the FC3 planes' startup, and we accept them in MP all the time, so maybe this shouldn't be that big of a concern.
  21. It doesn't, MiG shows as UK^ in the M2000. The 21^ is actually the Mirage at the moment which makes the whole lacking IFF issue even more confusing. :)
  22. Nothing against the idea itself, if it works for that price, hey why not? But I would really consider changing the name. It' just a bit too obvious...
  23. That's exactly my thinking, and the fact that the Mem alignment function is there in the plane gives us a way around the issue that is 'realistic enough' IMO. Every player can decide for himselft if he wants to use it or not.
  24. You can drag and drop the chat window to wherever you want it to be. Be sure it is completly open (in "writing" mode if you will) and it will work. DCS saves that position for the future. Also ctrl-y should get rid of the envelope completely.
