Nothing is fixed as long as there is no official statement. Here you can only find speculations based on vague and 2 month old statements.

Ah no.... it's just simple math. I bought the SE at the beginning of the prepurchase for 55,99$. If i ask for a refund they would give me my 55,99$ back, then after they solved the situation with RB of course i want my SE back and i have to rebuy it for 63,99$ which is the current price with EA discount Ok... i'm just kidding and i couldn't resist but hey - from an economical point of view it could actually be like this But to be honsest i think they are giving the refunds because they just don't want to heat up the situation even more as it already is.
-
I see, you got my point.
-
Sure… they had the F-15E already for another civ. Sim and it took them only 12 years to „port“ it to DCS. Sounds pretty easy to „switch“ the games with their modules…
-
No, the problem in generell is that developer (not only ED) are releasing moduls while already existing ones have some bugs which are in the game since "ages" and are still missing certain features, systems or functionalities. Don't get me wrong. I'm with you and i'm happy about every module which joins the fleet but i somehow can understand the "other opinion".
-
Exactly this. All this people screaming for a refund….. i don‘t want a refund. Just give me what i‘ve paid for - or just don‘t take away what you‘ve already delivered by now.
-
First page, scroll down a bit (something like post No 25)
-
Yes, because that‘s not the question in the title of this thread. Whats the status of the current situation - that’s the topic. Not „what did RB wrong?“ Not „what did ED wrong?“ Not „who is playing sims since when or who started with which game?“ Or „who is working in the software industries?“
-
Can someone help me? I‘m a bit lost. What was this thread about? It‘s not clear anymore.
-
Nice info. Didn't know that. Thank you!

Todays Changelog includes an update for the RB SA map. Is that a generell ED thing or is it an update from RB? Oh edit: sorry for asking here but i'm just curious if RB is providing updates again (even though it's just a small one).

Good to know
-
Yes that‘s right but did you read the last „couple of pages“ of this thread? As soon as someone says anything about this there are at least 3 or 4 „experts“ yelling that this would take decades if it is even possible at all to take over foreign code and continue the work on the module. And that‘s why i think i will stop reading this thread here from now on. I‘m always in a bad mood after reading here because about 90% of all the post here are just pessimistic. As soon as someone mentions that there might still be hope that everything continues as planned it seems like most of the people here just want to destroy all of it again and continue with drama.

It has nothing to do with EA. If RB and ED don‘t find a solution and the RB modules won‘t be maintained anymore we will also lose the M2K and the Harrier. Both are not EA anymore. If the same happens with HB we would also lose the Viggen, with M3LL we would lose the MiG-21. You can buy a final release version. If they f#%@k it up 6 month after final release you might lose your module a couple of patches later or maybe even after the very next update.
-
Are you working for ED or RB?? You can‘t answer, you just can assume. And this thread is full of - mostly negative - assumptions and speculations but there is no official answer and there will be no answer as long as there are no results. Asking again and again doesn‘t give you an answer sooner. It‘s like a throttle lever at the full forward position. Pushing it harder doesn‘ give you more thrust. That‘s what i wanted to say. I‘m not expecting any answer at all just because people are asking this question (since more than 1.5 month btw).
-
Well.... i would say that question might be a good summary of all the 18 pages of this thread and guess what..... still no answer.
-
Would be still better than no Harrier, F-15E, M2K or MiG-19 anymore at all. I could accept that.
-
Maybe a bit naiv but to be honest yes and yes. Yes and not yet (due to lack of disk space).
-
Could be. But maybe the reason for not closing this thread is just to leave us at least one thread to discuss this topic because closing every single thread about this might heat up the situation even more than it already is. But i think it might be better to be a bit more careful with all the speculations about who might do what with which (legal) consequences because it reaches from „all fine soon“ to „this is the end of DCS and our little world“. I think (almost) no one writing comments here really knows what‘s actually going on. There a just a few official statements from RB and ED more than one month ago - not nearly enough for any assumptions. Just my opinion.
-
Oh yes. That‘s really bad. Especially because there was no MiG-21 by M3LLC. Even though they shew a spanish Hornet pilot in the video there was nothing from Aerges - i‘m afraid we will never see the 104 in DCS anymore. And what about the JF-17 by Deka? Nothing!! The upcoming OH-58 was in - YES ….. but no Phantom Seems like this „unofficial“ statement by ED is even worse than you expected….

Thank you

Me too except the Mosquito, the I-16 and the CE. And a lot of them are just there to be used twice or three times a year. But when i use them, i enjoy it. What i mean is i don‘t decide whether i buy a new module or not based on the amount of different types an average pilot flies during his career. In other words: just because a RL pilot is limited to a certain amount of types during his career doesn‘t mean that i have to limit myself too. If i like it, i buy it - and then i enjoy it. It has nothing to do with anything what happens in real life. That‘s the big advatage a PC game has. We play with it because we can. And appart from everyones financial situation and / or amount of sparetime, there is no other restriction But as i already said: everyone has do decide by himself
-
Everyone should deal with that their own way. That's totally ok. But for me that's not a good reason not to buy more modules. If you want to stick to 2 or 3 modules for your entire life just because a RL pilot is also limited to this amount of different types and miss all the other good modules out there, go ahead. That's up to you. But i can tell you: i won't. Because for me it's a computergame i'd just like to enjoy during my sparetime and not a job i have to do for living.
-
Yes you are right - that's a good game and i have a lot of respect for the developers because they do everything for free. Also i have to admit that's it's already about 7 years ago that i played this game. But first of all this game is based on the original AF from 2003 and the graphics got improved but are not even close to what we have in DCS now. The second thing is that i tried the F-18 and when i switched to the A/A Radar i got the same picture on my DDI as in the F-16 - same for other aircrafts - and that's a thing DCS definitly doesn't stand for. No, sorry. In my opinion you can't compare these two games.
-
Ok, got it. That's as understandable as sad because that would mean: no MiG-29, no A-6, no A-7, no F-8 and the worst thing: no Tornado. But i can understand what you mean Let's just hope this scenario is not going to happen. We will see - hopefully soon.
