  1. There is a link to the 476th twitter feed in Dojos first post. You don't need to register to view the content.
  2. When I used 980 units in groups of about five, all with 6 hour waypoints on road I noticed a bit of a performance hit. When I shortened their driving distance it got a little better. However, some reported a huge hit on performance either way, and others reported no difference in performance at all.
  3. So I'd love to see a AN-ASQ-T50/AIM-9 combination on a LAU-105 for the A-10C. Also, it would be nice with the possibility to carry an empty LAU-117. :)
  4. ...meaning the time window a flight is on station, available for tasking.
  5. This is a bit off topic, but a very simple overview of one basic way of doing it is: 1. Place an enemy unit on the map, named Enemy1. 2. Make zones where you want the enemy units to possibly show up. Say Zone1, Zone2, and Zone3. 3. Use a script function (MIST) to randomly teleport your Enemy1 to either Zone1, Zone2 or Zone3. So if this was three zones in a city, every time you play, Enemy 1 will show up at a different spot within the different zones. You can of course increase the level of randomness by setting a probability of Enemy1 to show up at all, add more and/or different kinds of enemies and who also have a random possibility of showing up, and so on. There are alot of different functions to make really tons of different ways a scenario can play out, like having units randomly select a route, patrol, and so on. This is in no way a tutorial, only an overview of the theory behind it. If you find this kind of stuff interesting, I can highly recommend giving it a go. If it only sounds like a hassle, you are probably better of asking others to place units for you. :)
  6. http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2750942&postcount=75 No need to roll back apparently. Update should work whatever version.
  7. Looks like I have a collectors item then! :)
  8. Great, thanks!
  9. Greetings! I was one of the fortunate to not have any issues with 2.0.2.52369 when it was released a couple of days ago. Today ED release a corrected 2.0.2.52369. I'm wondering if there is any way for me to safeguard the install that I have in case the new fixed version introduces problems for me? I guess there won't be any way to roll back since they have the same version number, but will a local back up of the files work? Cheers!
  10. Not very familiar, but enough to make my own missions feel good enough (to me atleast) to the point that I have only info on probable enemy units and locations, but not their exact force strength, type of units or exact position. You seem pretty passionate about doing it this way, and if you find someone to exchange missions with I bet the turnout will be great. Good luck with your endeavour!
  11. Have you tried scripting so the units will be moved to a different location every time the mission is played? That way there is no need for someone to manually place units for you and the replayability is great.
  12. Yeah, no dynamic weather. Roger, I'll sit tight for a while.
  13. I think the main thing you need to work on is your general situational awareness. Of course mark points 4-ever, but try relying less on the TGP, and more on looking out of the cockpit and get a mental image of where everything is, and where you are in relation to everything else. That will make reaquiring masked targets a lot easier. If you are used to beeing heads down looking throught the TGP it's hard to break that MO, but it really does help to not rely too much on the TGP.
  14. Greetings! As of todays update of DCS World 2.0 one of my mission has up and stopped working. During the mission loading screen I get a Runtime Error saying "this application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information." and DCS crashes. I have no idea what to do about it, has any of you ran into this problem and know where I can start looking for what is causing the mission to crash? Attached is the mission file. Any help would be much appreciated! Cheers! A day at the range 1.7.8.miz
  15. Did you do the tests in the exact same conditions? For instance, the exact same aircraft in the exact same part of whatever map you are flying in, with the exact same weather conditions and exact same amount of other units on the map and so on?
  16. Also, Alt+Enter when in cockpit. Helps some with performance.
  17. I meant to monitor your gpu/cpu/ram-usage. I don't know anything about overclocking being safe or not :)
  18. Then I don't know. Sorry. Try updating all drivers (even Track-IR, they released a new update that really helped with memory usage) and run MSI afterburner or some such to find out what is messing with your system. I think I heard something about some nVidia-cards doing that – micro stuttering just completely random. Google is your friend. But if that was the case you would probably have noticed it already on other games.
  19. Flat terrain shadows ON, Depth of field OFF, visibility setting decrease (the visibility has changed, so High is more like Ultra was before, I think). Edit: Also try lowering your water settings. Edit2: Basically, put every setting to lowest and start increasing each one bit by bit to monitor the performance hit.
  20. A couple of months ago there was severe lag when using the TGP in WHOT/BHOT. That severe lag is fixed, at least for me. It's still a hit to the framerate, but not at all as it was during The Dark Times.
  21. This is a VBIED though.
  22. In general: I like it! It's nice to hear you talk about simulator stuff in general, so no real further input there. What I found less interesting was commenting on forum drama. It's just not interesting enough to hear someone talk about no matter how dramatic it has been. As for the name of the podcast: Poddy McPodface has my vote.
  23. No way, sorry.

  25. Modifiers makes one button do many different things is all. Very useful and not at all as complex. Focus on assigning the controls that are under the HOTAS category.
