  1. I love the mirage, performance is good. However, I also find the switches very hard to see when there is a shadow or at night. I even use a custom added nightvision at times.
  2. Amen to that, I hope its true that they are focusing on improving performance. I never played dcs vr @90 fps, at least not steady and with a decent look, except for very sparse areas and external cameras (e.g., pointing up to the sky). However, I had a 1070 before the updates, and now a 1080 ti. I hope it gets significantly better one day, but I doubt.
  3. About 5 years of light use. But it wasn’t just this. I had many small issues over the years and have completely disassembled both stick and throttle at least twice. I would call it normal wear and tear, but the issue is dealing with their unreasonable and crappy support. The first month I received it one of the buttons on the stick stopped working. It took 10-15 emails with videos and being treated like a retarded until they sent me a replacement button for me to install. I still had to pay, and the alternative was to pay for shipping to Canada! Today that option is not even available, apparently you have to ship the whole thing to them. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a good joystick, but the support is dreadful. I can say the same with Oculus.
  4. Impressive work Firecat, thanks for adding me to the list!! Im number 36 but been quiet as not to clutter this too much. I have no further questions. Following your progress Mr Miles, but there’s no rush from my end. Just let us know when you complete your amazing work and ill be glad to be amongst the early adopters. All the best.
  5. Is this performance boost supposed to be in this next update? The wording seems confusing to me, like its for future updates. Also, don’t care much about the two other points, since I got a nice button box from you
  6. I don’t think you have pictures to share, me not being the most handy or creative person? I contacted Thrustmaster and was not disappointed with their horrible support. First they wanted me to provide a video of the throttle with all buttons working. What does that have to do with anything? Second, they wanted me to ship all 20lbs so they can analyze and “repair” it. And they won’t simply ship a replacement part. Their support is a joke, as I expected from previous encounters. I am curious about your solution, since it sounds more definitive than mine. The teflon is too thin and will loose adherence and move.
  7. Does anyone know where to find the rubber that goes at the base of the throttle levers and create the frictions? Over the years mine has completely worn out. I have substituted with teflon tape, woks great but the glue in tape doesn’t hold well. Not sure if thrustmaster will sell these separately yet.
  8. Mine returns normally, feels like I dipped in honey and I use an extension. As to how hard it is, following the directions, having a suitable workspace, and taking it slowly it is easy. I am not very good at this type of work. I did greased the springs, polished the gimbal spheres, and also nyogeled (good to know this is a thing) my TWCS throttle and T16000 stick. The biggest change was on the TWCS, that stock slider sucks big time and I have returned 2 units in 2 years. After nyogel its a whole different feel, definitely magic stuff :joystick:. Don’t be scared, go for it and enjoy.
  9. I have received mine yesterday, and have not installed yet. But I can tell it takes a lot more to trigger the button. Actually pressing there is a first click halfway and only at the end it presses the button. I suspect the best would be to find a way to reduce the gap between the white little piece and the button trigger, in a way it activates with less pressure and more quickly. This could be done by glueing a very tinny piece of toothpick from what I see. Ill reconsider this after I flight test it, but I do notice what you are reporting even before using.
  10. Order 1262 received. Just in time for thanksgiving.
  11. I have order 1262 and received a shipping notice about 2 weeks ago. Any of the people posting about receiving theirs is from the U.S. as well? Just wondering if mine is arriving soon. Can’t wait to test it.
  12. Thanks for confirming this should work. Ill do some testing.
  13. If I use a ui key with or without modifier, nothing else works in that same key. It overrides them.
  14. It seems, at least for me it is possible to use any key with ui commands. But it will override any aircraft commands. Even if I use ui as normal command and the other with a modifier. Hence, any key with ui is useless and lost for any aircraft command. I had to make a button box because of this limitation .
  15. Is this possible when you bind “gameplay” commands like vr zoom, mouse, etc? Because with a modifier it seems to overwrite the aircraft controls, even with the modifier not pressed. If there is a way around this I would like to know :(.
  16. +1 for Sahaj, got a 10cm for my wheelstand pro. Great quality and covers too. Only issue was a mistake when he sent the wrong cover size, but he sent me the correct one a few days later. Make sure to confirm the stick cover lenght before it ships out.
  17. But the question is, how low speed is too slow? A 2400 vs 3200 will be too much difference? If not, then 2200 etc? At what point will the speed matter really? I have installed a nvme ssd and did not notice much of a difference in game performance, but price I regret a lot. These memory prices are astronomical nowadays and my salary is not lol.
  18. Zero tension almost, but applying nyogel liberally and bolting it down to the table is what made a difference. It changed completely how it feels and is much more smooth.
  19. Its ridiculous how bad AI is at basic stuff. At Khasab my wingmen follow me blue angels style when I am on final, only to realize Im landing, initiate a go around and always crashes in the mountain next to the airfield. Pretty bad AI: unpredictable, unreliable, and useless in most situations. There have been talks about upgrading the ai in other posts, hopefully one day we will see improvements.
  20. I have the same question, I run a G.Skill - Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200 Memory with a z170i and i5 6600k and VR. I am curious to know if mainly upgrading to 32gb will be beneficial if I choose a slower speed to be affordable, like 2400. From what I gather people say Intel the speed doesn’t matter much.
  21. I was really impressed with the T.16000M stick, very accurate and feels/looks good. The throtlle not so much, like I said, except after applying nyogel. This miracle lube made it 100x better. Still, I would recommend a used warthog throttle (probably $260ish) and the T.16000 for now perhaps. I find cheap rudders are not necessary for most uses, depending on what I fly I barely touch it. The T.16000M has the twist rudder you can use in the mean time. The warthog is a solid investment if you are very into it, and the stick is enough I feel, both could run close to your budget. Then theres blackfriday, perhaps some deals arriving soon? Not sure if I can post ebay buy links but just saw a throttle for $245 buy now listed as new. Seller is ayonke. Good luck, you cant go wrong either way to have fun.
  22. Its cheap, has a lot of buttons, looks cool. Joystick works well, very accurate. Throttle is not good initially, depending on luck. The chief mechanism that is the slider instead of a lever, makes it grind and wobble at some points. Not noticeable if doing large power changes, but very annoying if doing small ones. Also the throttle body is too light, will move across the table. Both things have an easy solution:Sensitivity adjust + Nyogel to lube and superglue some weights to the base/add screws. This is worth $100-120 definitely. I like it a lot more than saiteks. But for $300 I would probably buy a better throttle and stick combo, perhaps used warhog throttle and a T.16000M stick.
  23. I have used logitech wireless in the past and got some background static. I found the possibility of walking away while still being able to listen to the game cool, but prefer a cable and not having to recharge yet another device. I use a rift and found the best headset for me is a audiotechnica ath-m50x with a creative soundblaster omni usb. It is very comfortable, isolates any room/fan noise and fits perfectly with the rift. Paid $104 on the headset 2 years ago and it still looks new. One thing I like is how the cable can be replaced and they send 3 different ones for your choice.
  24. Looks like mine should be shipped on the next batch. After reading the instructions I have a question about firmware updates. My throttle was bought in early 2014, so it may need the update. Should I do it before installing the slew or is it ok to do it after? Also some people reported issues when using anything other than a 2.0 usb port, is it something that could brick the throttle if attempted on a regular 3.0 port? I don’t think my pc even has 2.0 anymore. Tks.
  25. Like rtimmons mentioned, if you are not hearing “copy” then they didn’t hear you. Possible cause is transmitting on wrong radio (VHF vs UHF) or wrong frequency set. The A10C has 3 radios and you need to select which one you are transmitting first, using the appropriate throttle hat or keyboard shorcut.
